Kayden froze when he heard the name and asked, “Who’s Eldridge, sir?”
Kayden had never heard of Eldridge and didn’t know who it was. Over the years he had been fighting in the Battlefield and didn’t know much about the outside world. He hadn’t even known the Five Ghosts, Maverick, and Eugene if nobody told him.
The old man was in thought for a few moments, then he shook his head in some confusion and muttered in a low voice, “That shouldn’t be. I can see him in you. How could you not know Eldridge?”
Eldridge was a hermit in Seclela and one of the best. Countless hermits existed in Seclela, including the old man himself.
What is a hermit? A hermit is proficient in medicine and fortune-telling and has a profound realization of life.
Eldridge had been a legend among the hermits, just like Kayden among the warriors.
“Who is Eldridge, sir?” Kayden asked again.
The old man stroked his long beard and laughed, “Don’t mind. I only made a mistake.”
Hearing this, Kayden nodded in understanding.
Afterward, he asked, “Sir, I believe the Dragon Hold Resort is designed by you, right?”
Kayden didn’t pursue the subject of Eldridge any further.
Without any thought, the old man said, “Exactly.”
Kayden looked around and praised, ”You are truly remarkable. This place is perilous and cliffy. To be able to have such a resort laid out according to the Feng Shui here with Nine-Dragon Holding, you are truly one of the best in the area! My respect.”
Kayden had always been proud, and there were a few people he’d look up to, but he really admired the man in front of him.
The old man didn’t seem to be very excited and seemed to have been admired frequently.
Sizing up Kayden, he said, “Defender, you are so young, yet you are already able to tell Nine-Dragon Holding that took me a lifetime to learn. That means you’re above me!”
“Thank you for your praise, sir. But I’m far from that.” Kayden enjoyed the conversation between the two.
He took a few more steps forward, then looked up at the sky and asked, “Sir, are you observing the stars?”
Quintin, who hadn’t been able to chirp in, smiled and said, ”My master is teaching me how to observe the stars, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to quite understand. Defender, are you also interested in observing the stars?”
Kayden shook his head and said, “I am indeed interested, but it’s a profound art. I don’t think I will be able to learn it.”

When he finished speaking, he had an awkward expression on his face, as if he knew everything but could not say anything.
“Well, Quintin. It’s getting late. I should go back to rest now.” After saying his words, the old man once again arched his arms and said to Kayden, “Defender, sorry I wasn’t able to help.”

So he nodded slightly and said, “Goodbye, sir.”

Then, the old man’s laughter resounded throughout the entire valley as he left.
Kayden looked as he left and thoughtfully recited, “The savior knows battles and history; when nine stars align he shall come clear.”
He didn’t know exactly what it meant, but it seemed to be saying that there was a savior in the world. Looking at the old man’s back, he shook his head, then turned his head to look at Quintin beside him and asked, “Quintin, may I know your master’s name?”
Quintin smiled and said, “My master has long been out of the world. Just now you have already asked him. Since he didn’t answer you, it’s not within my right to. Sorry, Mr. Defender.”
Kayden nodded slightly in understanding.
Quintin chatted with Kayden for a while when a phone call came in. He answered the call and left in a hurry.
Kayden walked alone to the top of the cliff and looked up at the stars.
