Lex’s Pov
My brain was in turmoil.
I didn’t want to accept it but it still fucking backfired!
What the fuck is going on?
All the finances, account and liquidation are all pointing at Felix Wilson which didn’t make sense. If Felix needs something, My Dad is ready to spoil him with nonsense, I’m eager to spend it on my favorite brother too. He has his own shares In the company and a position which he neglected.
Dad offered him a position in the Parliament and he turned it down, giving an excuse that he needed to finish his degree at school which was understandable but if there’s anything I’m sure of is the fact we are all filthy rich.
One doesn’t need to tell how much one would be making when your dad is a fucking president In a strange country, with affiliates to other top packs spread abroad.
So …so why is this pointing at Felix? Why would he ask my staff to make all the income flow to his account alone when this was the profit share of the company.
The more I think about it, the more my brain hurts. Maybe he has a valid reason. I was so tempted to ask Raven to do some research but seeing the bad blood between the both of them, I’d rather pass and watch things unfold.
Since Lilia left for Midnight Shade, I never knew I could get busy.
I worked like never before and fixed things in the company, filtering a lot of thieves and hypocrites. I set up a system where the public can monitor the flow of income and make sure it’s unfixable except they pass through me to give an order to the international Web protocol.
Green Howling Pack was still in the running, threatening me, especially that hungry Alpha, but I slapped them a billion dollar deal to compensate them. It was annoying but I had to do it to prevent Lilia from going there.
Despite my busy attitude and schedule, Lilia’s scent was stamped in my head running through my blood. I missed her warmth, the taste of her soft delicate Lips and her glare. I missed the conversation she usually has with Jerry, how her eyes sparkled with awe at a word that seemed extraordinary to her or how she would force Raven to take photos so she could increase the followers on her social handles.
Lately, I didn’t realize how this little things were so fucking attractive and annoying at the same time because I didn’t get to do all that with her. We rarely had a decent conversation to make her smile, or take photos of me which made me burn with jealousy towards my Beta.
The door opened smoothly and Lucia walked inside, looking smart in her Palazzo red trousers and top. I didn’t realize she was a pawn in those fools games until she showed me a thousand reasons why I should retain her, most importantly, she seemed to be fond of Lilia.
“Mr Wilson, you have a meeting by noon and Dinner meeting with Mr Kenzie. I just wanted to bring those files for signing so that I’ll pass it to the board for implementing the finances.” She said, pushing the white paper on the desk as I flicked my pen, read through the file and signed.
“Cancel the dinner meeting, I’ll meet with Kenzie immediately.” I told her and she nodded but she felt hesitant to leave which made me raise my brows at her.
“Any problem Lucia?” I asked and she looked nervous, chewing her lips but maintained a decent and professional composure.
“Uhmm.. not really, I just wanted to know if you fired Lilia. She has been absent for some days now and…I’m worried.”
She struggled with her words and pressed her lips together.
“Lilia is fine, she’ll be back in a Month’s time.” I told her and her eyes widened in shock.
“But why would you suspend her, I’m sorry sir but I think that she’s the reason why the majority of the company’s illegal acts were exposed. I don’t know what she did but one month is way too much please, I’m not trying to judge or make It seem that I’m misinterpreting your judgment but”
“Lucia??” I cut her off, my tone filled with warning and curtness which made her nodded and apologized.
“I have no plans of suspending my wife, she’ll be back to resume her duty as my Manager after the trip” She blinked her eyes to be sure she heard me right and froze at the spot without moving.
“Lucia, tell Kenzie to meet me at the VIP room. You can practice your robotic skills after that is done and not inside my office.”
She looked at me and gasped, shaking her head in disbelief before turning to leave the office, an act that made me chuckle.
I needed to talk to Alpha Kenzie, Jax’s father. He knew about Lilia, the curse and every other thing since she was Betrothed to his son. All I need is an offer to make him salivate and bend to my will and everything is cool.
My phone rang and I picked it up and stood up, Stretching my legs and pushing my hands In my pocket as I walked towards the window to lean my frame and crossed my legs.
“Jethro?” I called my Gamma by his name, my wolf Instantly perked up in eagerness.
“What’s wrong Jethro, is everything okay? I asked you not to call me unless something is wrong!” I was beginning to hyperventilate and getting restless which wasn’t supposed to be so but damn! Lilia was in that Pack alone with a lot of prying eyes that would do anything to hurt her.
[“Everything is fine Alpha!”]His deep voice replied to me but I could sense a tone of restraint.
“How is she, the test?”
” Luna is fine Alpha, she successfully pulled through the Priestesses test and is getting prepared for the next one tomorrow.”
A swell of pride washed through me and I bit my lips, feeling cool about that. I know she was going to fight it, and this is a step.
“B.. but Alpha, can…can I ask how she is towards Beta Raven?”
I frowned instantly and the pride melted away. “I don’t understand Jethro, why will you ask me such? Is she being too nice to you? Are you making advances or is she the one doing that instead?”
I asked, knowing how stupid that sounded but I couldn’t help it.
Especially after seeing the relationship she had with Raven, It was simple and beautiful yet, I couldn’t help but think of possibilities of Lilia falling for Raven or Vice Versa.
“No Alpha, Jeez! That’s a lot. Luna dislikes me like I’m some pig drenched in gutters, she won’t glance my way or even return my gestures especially when I call her Luna. She hates me so much that I could feel it and I wonder what was said about me. How can I protect her, if she shuts me out like a plague?”
I could hear and feel my gamma’s frustration on the phone and sighed. Hate is a big word to use but Jethro wasn’t the type to mince with words.
“You want to know how she is with Raven?” I smirked, biting back a chuckle.
“I’ll send Raven over in two days time so see for yourself. But your priority is her safety, whether or not she likes you. I don’t give a fuck about that because If she’s hurt, it would be bloody!” I warned him and I could hear him gulping at the other end.
“Yes, Alpha.”
“Good.” I cut the call and head out to the VIP room to meet Kenzie. I don’t care about who Lilia hates or loves, as long as she’s safe. It’s ok.
“Alpha Alexander.” The man stood up in respect to greet me, despite his old age and authority and stretched his hard veiny hands.
“Alpha Kenzie, nice to see you.” I took his handshake and sat down , going straight to the point.
“Do you know why I called you here?” I asked the old man who smiled, he was still filled with valor and his features were intact. He should be about sixty five years old but that didn’t reflect on the man at all
“Yes, I know. About your Luna.”
I nodded at him and relaxed on the chair. “Tell your Priestess to break the curse, I don’t know what she did but she had no right to be cursed. I’ll pay in whatever way I can.”
I told the man who didn’t budge at my proposal, I already proposed for White Crisps Pack or merged as one and the benefits were mouth watering. This would be the highest offer since my Merging began but I didn’t mind as this one would be worthwhile.
“I’m sorry Alexander, I refuse to Let the Priestess lift the curse.” He retorted.
