Contracted to the wrong Alpha
Chapter 14
****
Lilia’s Pov
To think that I’m still breathing is a miracle, I must confess.
The nights had been the worst of my life and I don’t wish for anyone to experience it. The flesh of my skin was torn from different sharp objects and stings couldn’t be recognized. It was as if the outer flesh of my skin was torn open and hot spicy pins were Injected into the delicate part of my body.
The horrible smell of blood and unknown creatures hits my nostrils. All I could do was vibrate, and whimper, at the gothic, hellish, and forbidden treatment I was receiving right now in my human body.
I hated everything about my life and Midnight Shade was on my top list right now. Why the hell would they create such a demonic place?
Why would they want wolves to experience such horrific trauma?
I know how many nightmares I’ve had in here, imaginations of animals coming to rape me or a gar coming to piece me in shreds.
Even If none of my imagination was true, I was forced to believe that these things lurk in the dark.
My stomach pangs escalated and the worms wouldn’t stop protesting.
My throat was scarred and dried as a hot burning thirst for water overwhelmed me.
I didn’t want to get married to such a Pack with no emotions, the moon goddess would never punish her subjects this way. This was pure brutality all as an excuse for discipline.
I didn’t want to die in this place but I wasn’t strong anymore. I’ve tried the past three days to be strong and knowing that I have three more days to complete my punishment broke the little strength I was trying too hard to cling on.
I wouldn’t survive, my eyelids were closing, hungry for sleep. A sleep of death to send me to eternal rest and tears slipped down my eyes.
I want to be strong, damn! Please I need strength. I don’t want to leave like this.
“Let me out please!” Lee cried.
This has been her mantra for the past few days, scolding me at one time for being a stubborn brat, crying at me to let her out, and then cursing the whole existence of Lex and Midnight Shade.
“I’m sorry.” I whimpered out shakily to her and she growled.
“Let me out and save yourself, Lilia! Please” She knew I would never do that no matter how she pleads.
My elbow dropped to the imaginary dirty floor as a hot wave of dizziness overtook me, my body was weak and was tired of struggling.
I was tired of everything, with the pounding pains in my head, and body and pepperish fire sting coursing through all over my skin, I didn’t think I could take it.
I muttered another last word to my wolf when I heard this very faint voice struggling through the mind link.
I wanted to be alert, maybe someone wanted to talk to me. To help me out of this despicable place.
Oh! Is it Melody?
I haven’t even heard from her since my stupidity, but again. I struggled to breathe. The voice came again, sending chills all over my skin but I was gone. I hit my head softly on the floor.
“Flower, are you there?”
A warm deep voice was all I heard before drafting into a thicker painful darkness.
*****
The sound was too loud in my years, it kept repeating nonstop as if it was my alarm but I knew it wasn’t. It’s different, a machine that sounded like a ticking time bomb warning everyone to evacuate the environment and I snapped my eyes open at once.
A square white crafted ceiling displayed above me and I struggled to get up but the mighty pound on my head sent me back to the bed.
I could now listen to it clearer, it wasn’t an alarm. It was a sound from the beeping machine and the smell of antiseptic and nauseating drugs filled my nose.
“I think she’s up.” A voice I couldn’t recognize said I didn’t move. I just lay there blinking in surprise and wondering what happened to me for me to lay here.
“What’s her medical report like?” I heard a familiar voice that made me cringe but I chose not to react.
“She would be fine, the oxygen we gave to her for the last three days had reduced the pneumonia in her. It would take weeks or perhaps a month for her wounds to heal and I would prefer she seeks a therapist after her treatment. I don’t know what she went through to get those wounds but it’s traumatizing. I know Lilia too well to let her just act like nothing happened.”
He said and I wanted to see who was talking and knew so much about me.
“Alright, thanks a lot Doctor Morphyl. We’ll put this into consideration.” His deep voice said again and I gasped in shock and forced myself to sit up, ignoring the drums on pain in my head.
” Morphyl?” I called out softly and he turned to me, sighing in relief. He came over to feel my pulse and tested my temperature but I was too quick to shove the stethoscope aside and gave him a soft hug.
“I’m glad you’re okay.” He whispered and I broke down in tears.
He’s my uncle, my father’s Blood brother who resides in Russia to focus on his profession. He’s a wolf but the best in medicine as it was nature’s gift to him and blends in so well with the humans.
He was the best I could ever have and also a secret to my success today. I missed him so terribly and he knew it too. I missed his jokes, his advice, and most especially his children.
“You seem to know her?” I tore my gaze from Morphyl to look at Lex, who was dressed in a brown Vest all buttoned up with dark leather boots. His emerald eyes glinted through the rays of the sun that splashed in the fancy room and his dark wavy hair was too neat and parted to the side, giving him a wicked beauty.
My Blood boiled at his sight and I gritted my teeth, returning my gaze to Morphyl who seemed nervous and cleared his throat.
“She’s my niece.” He replied and there was silence.
“What are you doing here?” I asked him.
“Work, business trips, and all that until I got a special call a few days ago. Who did this to you baby girl huh?” His voice was constricted and pissed, his glasses that rested on the breach of his nose didn’t fail to give his mature face a good handsome look.
“I,” I sniffed.
“Can you stay a few more days till I’m strong? We can talk later.” I told him, wary of Lex’s burning gaze on us.
“I’ll stay as you want, that’s why I took your treatment since last week.” I nodded at him and he gave a short peck at me, bowing down at Lex before striding out.
The room was now cold, dead, and silent.
I looked everywhere but Lex, whose hand was jammed in his pocket with his burning stare on me.
He looked like he wanted to say something but I could feel the Fury emanating from my skin and circulating the whole room. It could burn everywhere in flames.
I almost died! And one word from him could have stopped a lot.
We might not be a real couple but why didn’t he just listen to me and save me the hellish shame? The more I think about it, the more the rumors about Midnight Shade members become true, registering everything in my head.
I was glad, I was alive.
It’s a Great accomplishment.
What the hell happened? I know I was dead, or so I thought.
Wait! Lee?
“Fuck, Lee are you there?” I called out my wolf. I can’t feel her, I can’t sense her. Did I let her out?
“Lee please, tell me you’re alright please?” I mumbled, my voice breaking down in shreds but I didn’t hear a word. My heart plummeted down to my stomach and I could feel a sickening dreadful feeling piling up in my throat.
“LEE!!” I yelled out suddenly and cried, Lex was startled and confused.
Damn! He looked so beautiful with a flustered face but I swear I will kill him if he doesn’t leave here at this moment.
“Since you’ll be okay, get prepared for the Blue Moon Ritual and ”
“GET OUT!!” I screamed, dragging my hair and tears rushed down my face, my heart feeling so tight from the pain. He didn’t move, his expression didn’t waver aside from that sudden flinch he gave from the impact of my voice.
“I SAID. GET . THE . HELL . OUT!!”
I growled in a voice I couldn’t recognise and Lex didn’t flinch this time around. He stared at me with amusement as his brows raised, totally unaffected by my outburst which got me even enraged.
” …I am saying that you should get prepared for the Blue Moon Ritual tomorrow. We’ll sign a legal document regarding the marriage and you will get your ring tomorrow. I’ve missed a lot of deals, don’t mess this up. You don’t want to end up in confinement again” Lex says every word with authority, His eyes glinted gold again and I cursed at how royal his words were. He didn’t care about my state and the sheer arrogance he possessed made me pound in anger. He looked like a warrior who saw a war coming but wasn’t shaken, his aura alone was graced with authority and I found myself stupidly nodding to his words despite my outburst. He was the Alpha after all.
” Good, when you need your wolf. You wait for three more days, she was in darkness for a long time and you know what can be done to her to her sight.” He says and realization struck me hard, watching him turning to the door to take his leave. Lee would wake up after three days?
I didn’t know that. Did that darkness affect her even though she wasn’t out? What would have happened if I had let her out?
“Fuck You, Lex!” I growled in anger and I bit my lips. I heard something deep in my mind and goose bumps washed over my skin.
“We already did flower, keep up that nasty attitude and you won’t like what will happen again ” He said through the mind link staring cockily at me and I shivered, cutting him off in shock.
When I thought I had problems in my life, he decided to triple it.
