the morning sun filled the room with a soft glow. Harrison looked at his brother, Luca. They had done something huge together, something that took all their strength. After everything they’d been through, he didn’t want to keep holding on to their old fights.
“Luca,” Harrison said quietly, “I think it’s time we put all this behind us. There’s no point in fighting anymore. We’re brothers. We should stick together.”
Before Harrison could say more, Luca spoke up. His voice was low, and there was a sadness in his eyes. “No, Harrison. I need to say something first. I’m sorry.”
Harrison was surprised, so he stayed quiet, listening.
“I’m sorry for all the pain I caused you, Emma, and Rachel,” Luca continued, looking down. “I let my hunger for power control me. I thought I was doing it for us, for the family, but it was just my pride. I was wrong.”
Harrison could see Luca’s regret. This was the apology he had waited for, but now that it was here, it felt strange. He felt a mix of relief and sadness. They had lost so much time because of their fights.
“I forgive you, Luca,” Harrison said softly. “We can’t change the past, but we can choose to move forward. Let’s start fresh. We’re family, and that matters most.”
Luca raised his head, his eyes meeting Harrison’s with a seriousness that made his voice tremble slightly. “There’s one more person I need to apologize to,” he said softly. “Rachel.”
Harrison nodded, understanding. “She deserves to hear it from you, Luca. You’ve put her through a lot. More than anyone should ever have to go through.”
Luca swallowed hard, his gaze distant as he thought about everything Rachel had suffered because of him. “I know. She lost her sister… and I let my pride push her away when she needed me most, I equally violated her . how much pain she was hiding.”
Harrison placed a hand on Luca’s shoulder, offering a small, supportive squeeze. “It’s not too late, Luca. Go talk to her. She’s strong, but she deserves to hear that you’re sorry. It’ll mean a lot to her.”
Luca nodded, taking a deep breath as he tried to gather his thoughts. “You’re right, Harrison. I need to do this not just for her, but for me too. I want to make things right.”
