Harrison sat across from Luca in the dimly lit room of the police station. His mind was still racing from everything that had happened. Victoria was dead, Rachel had been shot, and Mr. Blackwood was still out there somewhere, free and dangerous. It felt like everything was falling apart, but there was a small flicker of hope now. They had evidence of Mr. Blackwood’s wrongdoings. If they could use it correctly, they might finally be able to bring him down.
Luca leaned back in his chair, folding his arms. His eyes were sharp, calculating. “We already have evidence of Mr. Blackwood’s mischief,” Luca said, his voice calm but firm. “Now we just need to use it properly to bring him down.”
Harrison looked at him, confused. “How? How do we use it?”
Luca didn’t answer right away. He stood up slowly, walking over to the window. The light from outside made his silhouette sharp and defined, and for a moment, Harrison couldn’t help but admire his brother’s composure. He was always in control, always thinking three steps ahead.
Luca turned to face him. “First, I need to see the evidence we have,” he said. “I need to know exactly what we’re working with before we can take the next step.”
Harrison’s mind raced as Luca spoke. He realized what he needed to do. The USB drive with the crucial evidence-it was with Rachel. She was the only one who had it, and she was in the hospital, still recovering from being shot. Harrison’s stomach tightened. He wasn’t sure how Rachel would react to him showing up there with Luca, but it didn’t matter. They needed that evidence.
“I… I just remembered,” Harrison said, standing up quickly. “The evidence is with Rachel. She has a USB drive with everything on it. We can’t do anything until we have it.”
Luca raised an eyebrow. “Rachel?” he repeated, as if the name held some kind of weight.
Harrison nodded. “She’s the one who has it. She saved the drive and kept it hidden. If we go to the hospital, we can get it from her.”
A small frown appeared on Luca’s face. “You think she’ll give it to us willingly?” he asked, his voice cautious. “She might be upset with you, especially after everything that’s happened.”
Harrison’s jaw tightened. He knew Rachel wouldn’t be thrilled to see him, especially after the mess with Blackwood and everything that had been happening with her. But they didn’t have time to waste. Mr. Blackwood was still out there, and Rachel’s safety was more important than anything else.
“I don’t care if she’s mad,” Harrison said, determination in his voice. “I’ll do whatever it takes. We need that drive. And we need it now.”
Luca studied him for a moment, before nodding. “Alright. Let’s go get it. But don’t expect her to just hand it over without a fight. We’ll need to talk to her carefully.”
Harrison nodded, feeling a strange mix of anxiety and resolve. He was determined to get the USB drive, but he also knew this wasn’t going to be easy. Rachel had been through so much already, and the last thing he wanted was to make things worse.
