But reality hit me hard, and I quickly felt scared. “Harrison, your mom was here, right?” I asked quietly as I looked at him. He nodded, still looking lost in his thoughts. “Why did she come?”
“She wanted to check on you and Ethan,” he said softly, gently touching my cheek. “To make sure you were okay after… everything.”
“Everything.” Such a simple word for all the chaos in our lives. Rachel was right; Mr. Luca wouldn’t let this go. But what could he do now? Harrison told me to stop worrying, but the fear wouldn’t leave me. It was always there, bothering me. Did Harrison know about Adrianne’s secret affairs? Rachel had hinted at it before. If he did, he never said anything.
I looked at him, his worried face making me feel anxious. “Harrison, please,” I pleaded, my voice trembling. “We need to talk about her.”
He kissed me to stop my words, holding my face tightly, which made me feel excited. I didn’t resist; I let myself enjoy his embrace, thinking maybe our love could keep away the darkness.
When he pulled back, he searched my eyes for doubt. “I know, baby,” he said softly, rubbing my jawline. “But we’ll handle it. I promise.”
His words calmed me for a moment, but the fear stayed, a small flame that wouldn’t go out. I knew we couldn’t ignore the truth forever.
Harrison saw my worry and laid me on my back, looking closely at my face. He kissed me softly, his hands moving gently over my body, making me shiver. His touch was a quiet promise that we’d face this together. As the kiss became more passionate, my fears faded away, replaced by a strong desire to be with him.
He took off his shirt, showing off his muscular chest. I reached up to touch his abs, feeling the warmth of his skin. His eyes darkened as he kissed me again, our bodies close. We both knew what we needed, and we were eager for it.
He entered me with one strong movement that made me cry out. Our bodies moved together as he set a fast pace. Each movement sent waves of pleasure through me, and I wrapped my legs around him, pulling him closer. The fear and doubt were gone, replaced by the fiery passion that had been building between us.
We moved together, our bodies slick with sweat, lost in each other’s rhythm. The room was filled with our sounds, a mix of moans that echoed in the quiet. It was a mix of power and vulnerability, a dance of desire that led to one outcome.
Harrison’s eyes held mine, filled with determination. He was claiming me, and I loved it. The pleasure washed over me, leaving me breathless. He followed soon after, his eyes never leaving mine.
We lay there for a while, our hearts beating together, forgetting the world outside. But soon, reality crept back in. I hadn’t seen Mr. Luca since the wedding; what was he up to? “You’re still going to work for me, Emma,” Harrison interrupted my thoughts. “We need to talk,” I whispered.
Harrison looked at me, understanding in his eyes. He nodded slowly. “I know. But not now, okay?” He kissed me again, needing to hold onto this moment before chaos returned.
Just then, the bedroom door opened, and Mr. Blackwood walked in. I hurried to cover myself as he looked shocked to see us together. My heart raced with embarrassment and fear.
“What’s happening here?” he shouted, looking furious. His cold eyes were now filled with anger as he looked at me, then at Harrison. He threw a newspaper at him, and Harrison read it, his expression changing from shock to anger.
“It’s all over the papers,” Mr. Blackwood yelled. “Your Adrianne family is cutting ties because of your stunt at the wedding!”
Harrison looked between the newspaper, me, and Mr. Blackwood, fear and anger on his face. “What do you mean?” he asked.
Mr. Blackwood’s gaze was on me, disgust clear on his face. “Your display at the wedding has cost us more than just a marriage,” he said coldly. “The Castellanos are pulling their funding. Do you know what this means for us?”
Harrison’s hands tightened around the newspaper. “What are you saying?” he growled. “They can’t do this.”
Mr. Blackwood laughed coldly. “They can, and they have. You’ve ruined our reputation and our finances. All because you couldn’t control yourself.”
Harrison jumped out of bed, the newspaper crumpled in his hand. “This isn’t just about me. It’s about Adrianne and what she’s been doing behind our backs.”
Mr. Blackwood glared at him. “What are you talking about?”
Harrison’s voice was filled with anger. “You know what I’m talking about. Adrianne’s been playing us for fools.”
Mr. Blackwood looked furious. “This doesn’t concern you. You will marry that girl. The family’s future is at stake.”
But Harrison was done listening. “The family’s future? You mean your company. You’re ready to sacrifice my happiness and your grandchild for greed.”
“It’s not just about me,” I added, my voice shaking. “It’s about what’s right.”
Mr. Blackwood glared at me. “This doesn’t concern you, maid. You’ve done enough damage.”
But Harrison stood in front of me. “This is my life. I won’t marry someone I don’t love just to save your company.”
Mr. Blackwood’s face grew colder. “You’re a fool. You’ll ruin us all.”
But Harrison held firm. “I’d rather ruin us than marry someone I don’t love. Emma is the mother of my child, and she’s who I want to be with.”
Mr. Blackwood’s face turned red with rage. “You ungrateful boy. I’ve given you everything, and this is how you repay me?”
Harrison held me tighter. “You’ve given me a prison. A life of lies. I won’t live like that anymore.”
Mr. Blackwood’s eyes narrowed. For a moment, I feared he might strike us. Then his expression changed. “Fine,” he said coldly. “You want to throw it all away? Be with her. But you’re on your own.”
