The Morning light

As I closed my eyes, I felt very tired from the day. The tiredness hit me hard, and soon I was in a deep, peaceful sleep.
I felt like I was floating on a cloud, only aware of the warmth of Harrison’s arm around me and his chest moving up and down. All my worries about the mansion and Miss Adrianne faded away.
As time went by, the light outside got dimmer, turning the room blue and purple. The sound of the clock reminded me that time was passing, but in Harrison’s arms, I could forget everything.
The next morning, I woke up to find the bed empty. The spot where he had slept was cold, and the sheets were tangled. Sunlight peeked through the curtains, lighting up the floor. I sat up, feeling sore but alive. The room was very quiet, and not hearing his breathing reminded me that the night was over.
For a moment, I thought it was all just a dream. The softness of his kiss and our night together seemed like my imagination. But then I saw his shirt on the floor, proving it was real. I picked it up and breathed in his scent, a mix of sweat and cologne, which made me long for him.
Suddenly, Rachel burst in, looking excited. “Oh, my God, Emma!” she shouted. “You won’t believe what happened!”
Her entrance surprised me, and I quickly covered myself with the sheet. “Rachel, what are you doing?” I yelled, embarrassed.
“Oh, don’t be shy,” she said, waving her hand. “You’re not the first maid to be with the boss. But you’re the first he brought to his room.” She looked at the messy bed. “How was it?”
I felt my face heat up. “It was…” I struggled to find the right word. “It was amazing.”
Rachel’s smile grew bigger. “Did he treat you well?” she asked, lowering her voice.
“Better than I imagined,” I said, remembering our night together.
Rachel laughed, making the quiet room feel lively. “Emma, don’t spoil the fun,” she teased. “But first, I have some news.”
She came closer, her eyes shining. “Guess what? Mr. Harrison wants to see you, and he’s in a hurry. He asked for you in his office, and I mean it was more of a command.”
My heart raced as she got off the bed. “What’s going on?” she asked, still a bit sleepy. Rachel handed me a cup of hot coffee, the rich smell filling the air.
“Emma, I think the boss likes you,” Rachel said, her eyes bright with excitement. “He’s never treated any other maids this way. You’re lucky.”
I drank some coffee, the bitter taste bringing me back to reality. “I’m not sure ‘lucky’ is the right word,” I said, putting the cup down. Rachel seemed to realize something had changed with Harrison and me.
“Come on,” Rachel said, gently holding my face. “You’re blushing. What happened?”
I didn’t say anything, but the smile on my face said enough. Rachel’s eyes widened, and she squealed in excitement. “Oh, my God, you had sex with him!”
“It just… happened,” I said softly, feeling heat spread over me. Rachel’s excitement was infectious, making me smile despite my worries.
Rachel sat on the bed. “Looks like you have some courage after all.” She sipped her coffee, watching me. “But be careful, Emma. Things in this mansion can be tricky.”
Her words reminded me that I was in a complicated situation. Rachel had always been a good source of advice, but she warned me that my time with Harrison could lead to trouble.
“What do you mean?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. Rachel’s playful mood changed to serious.
“I mean Mr. Harrison might like you, but that doesn’t change the rules,” she said urgently. “Miss Adrianne won’t like this. She has her eye on him and doesn’t share easily.”
