Chapter 1807: Attack Methods

Saul stared intently at the pilot, releasing his divine sense and invading the pilot’s mind.
The pilot, who had been terrified, suddenly rolled his eyes back, his face becoming blank and vacant.
“What is he doing to the pilot?” Justin asked, his face grim.
In less than a minute, Saul retracted his divine sense.
“Saul, what do you think? Is this a low-level mortal world?” Tristen couldn’t help but ask.
Saul replied, “This world we are in is called Earth. It has nearly eight billion people, most of whom are mortals. Their civilization is called a technological civilization.”
“Technological civilization? Saul, those strange ships and flying objects are their technology?” Lawson chuckled.
Saul nodded and continued, “Although there shouldn’t be any cultivation resources here, the eight billion ordinary humans are excellent nourishment and resources for us.”
To Saul, ordinary mortals without immortal roots were no different from livestock that could be slaughtered at will.
In the Awakened Continent, their world, indiscriminate killing of mortals would attract attacks and condemnation from righteous Cultivators, forcing them to exercise restraint.
But in this world, it was different. Without constraints, they could do whatever they wanted.
Saul’s words made Tristen and Lawson’s eyes light up with excitement.
The three of them were Soul Suckers. Besides absorbing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, they could also absorb the souls of Demonkin, Fiends, Cultivators, and mortals to rapidly enhance their cultivation.
The souls of Demonkin and Cultivators were not easy to absorb. Once inside the body, they needed to be refined; if not handled properly, they could cause backlash and harm the absorber.
Although mortal souls were much weaker in effect, they required no refining, posed no risk of backlash, and their quantity could compensate for their weaker effect.
“Saul’s soul-sucking technique is about to reach perfection. Absorbing and refining a few million mortal souls will make breaking through to Spirit Saint imminent,” Lawson flattered.
“Saul, this world has so many mortals. For us, it’s an endless supply of nourishment,” Tristen said excitedly.
“Brothers, although this world is low-level, we must not be careless. Let’s explore other places,” Saul suggested.
“Yes, Saul,” Tristen and Lawson replied in unison.
“Let’s deal with these annoying ants first,” Saul said coldly, looking at the pilot suspended in mid-air by a blood hand.
The pilot came out of his stupor and looked at Saul with terror.
Saul clenched his right hand slightly, and the blood hand tightened, crushing the pilot into a cloud of blood mist.
This horrifying scene was witnessed by the fleet and other pilots in their jets.
The death of their comrade first shocked them and then filled them with immense anger.
Saul opened his mouth and gently inhaled. A wisp of soul from the blood mist was sucked into his mouth.
As the soul entered his body, Saul closed his eyes briefly, a look of satisfaction appearing on his face.
The gruesome scene left everyone in the command room stunned.
Justin clenched his fists tightly, veins bulging on his forehead.
“Leopard Jet 25 has been attacked. Pilot Aaron has been killed. Requesting orders! Requesting orders!” The front-line commander’s urgent request came through the communication device as Justin fumed with anger.
Everyone in the command room turned their eyes to Justin.
Knowing the gravity of the situation, Justin looked at Finnegan for guidance.
Finnegan, seething with anger, said in a deep voice, “You are the chief commander. Follow your command. Whatever decision you make, I support you!”
“Yes, sir,” Justin nodded. “As soldiers, we cannot sit idly by. Since those three dared to kill our people, we must retaliate!”
Justin spoke into the microphone with authority, “Front-line commander, prepare to launch ship-to-air missiles. All Leopard jets are to simultaneously attack the targets from the air!”
“Yes, Commander!” The front-line commander responded loudly.
In the command room, on the big screen, all ship cannons and missile launchers quickly aimed at the three people in mid-air.
“Hehe, Saul, it seems those ants are preparing to attack us,” Tristen sneered as he sensed they were being targeted.
“They are a bunch of fools,” Lawson said disdainfully.
“Ship-to-air missiles ready. Fire!”
At the command, a missile shot up from a ship with a long tail flame, arcing towards the three figures in mid-air.
“These mortals’ attack methods are interesting. I wonder how powerful they are,” Tristen chuckled as he released his spiritual power to envelop the missile.
The missile exploded in mid-air with a powerful shockwave sweeping through like a hurricane.
However, the shockwave did not affect the three hovering figures at all.
“Surprisingly, such an inconspicuous thing has decent attack power,” Tristen remarked with slight surprise. “But that’s all.”
More than ten jets simultaneously charged towards Tristen and the others. The missile bays under their bellies opened, revealing anti-ship missiles.
The pilots pressed the launch buttons in unison!
Thirty missiles shot towards the three figures in mid-air.
In an instant, the missiles were within four or five hundred meters of their targets.
Seeing that they were about to hit their targets, Justin’s palms began to sweat unconsciously in the command room.
Beside him, Finnegan and Jaylan Colon stared intently at the big screen ahead.
Facing the incoming missile barrage, the three remained indifferent and disdainful.
Tristen released his spiritual power from within, splitting it into thirty streams that enveloped each missile.
The thirty high-speed missiles suddenly halted eerily in mid-air.
“Return to where you came from!” Tristen waved his right hand.
The thirty missiles turned into thirty streaks of blood-red light under his control and shot towards the Leopard jets in the sky.
“All jets disperse and retreat!” At the same time, all jet pilots received orders.
Some Leopard jets began flying at ultra-low altitudes towards the sea; others pulled up towards higher altitudes or performed spiral maneuvers forward.
In just a few breaths’ time, all Leopard jets had dispersed.
“Escape is impossible,” Tristen smirked as he moved his mind.
The thirty missiles scattered and chased after the jets like relentless phantoms.
