Myrna finished her morning run and came out of the shower to see a pink pot of succulents among the rows of green succulents of various shapes on the balcony.
She poked it gently with her index finger, and looking at the soft and tender plant, her mood improved a little.
On the table, the phone was buzzing.
She saw the name ” Gavin ” appear on the screen and picked up the phone curiously.
” Gavin ? Why are you calling me at this hour? What’s the matter?”
” Myrna , how are things going?”
“Not bad. How about you?”
The opportunity has come!
Gavin immediately sat up straight: “I’m… not well.”
Myrna frowned: “What’s wrong?”
“Maybe staying up late and drinking alcohol made my stomach uncomfortable. Myrna , I don’t know what’s going on, but I don’t want to eat anything now. I just miss the stomach-nourishing porridge you made. I’m really greedy… Do you think it’s convenient?”
I didn?? t dare to tell Ansel that he wanted to drink, so I could only say it in a roundabout way .
Although she met Gavin through Ansel , after spending so many years together , Myrna has a good relationship with him apart from Ansel .
The other party has spoken, and my stomach is indeed uncomfortable…
Myrna glanced at her watch. “That’s convenient. I’m going out to buy groceries now. You can come pick them up at noon.”
“Hey! Thank you Myrna ! You’re so nice! I love you so much mua! I’ll call you later then.”
Myrna laughed.
At noon, Gavin received the address from Myrna and followed the navigation to drive to the vicinity of University B. After twisting and turning through several alleys, he finally reached the vicinity of his destination.
He parked the car on the side of the road and walked through the tree-lined avenue. He found the specific building and remembered that she said it was on the seventh floor and there was no elevator…
Gavin looked up and swallowed subconsciously.
Five minutes later, he stood in front of the door, panting, feeling as if he had lost half his life, and sweating profusely.
Myrna opened the door and let him in, immediately pouring him a glass of water.
“Are you okay? Are you that tired?”
Gavin took a breath and waved his hand: “I’m so tired, Myrna , why did you choose such a… remote place?”
In fact, he wanted to say “shabby”, but felt it was inappropriate, so he changed his words temporarily.
“Quiet and convenient to go anywhere.”
She took the porridge from the table and said, “It’s freshly cooked. Eat it while it’s hot. There are also a few side dishes in it. Be careful when you take it, don’t spill it.”
Gavin opened it and was stunned by the fragrance. No wonder someone was thinking about it.
He nodded: “Got it, thank you for your hard work Myrna , I’ll treat you to a meal later.”
When he left, he couldn’t help but look back and said hesitantly: ” Myrna , you…”
Before he finished speaking, Myrna turned on her phone: “It’s almost one o’clock. I have to go out. Can I take you downstairs?”
He swallowed back the words he hadn’t said yet. Gavin nodded, “Okay.”
Myrna watched the sports car go farther and farther away, then she put away the smile on her face.
Gavin wanted to say, but now, she didn’t want to listen anymore.
They rushed all the way to the hospital and Gavin placed the thermos on the small table in front of Ansel .
“This time the storage is satisfactory.”
Ansel opened the lid with a suspicious look on his face, took a bite, and his expression suddenly softened.
He said such harsh words and acted so cruelly, aren’t you just being soft-hearted?
He took another sip and glanced at the entrance: “Where are the people?”
“Who?” Gavin didn’t respond.
“She did this, right? Has she figured it out now? Is she coming back?”
Ansel raised his eyebrows and snorted, “What do you think my place is? A hotel or a restaurant? She can come and go as she pleases?”
Clyde sat on the sofa, looking at Gavin’s embarrassed expression, and said with a half-smile: “Then you really don’t have to worry. After all, Gavin lied that he wanted to eat it, so Myrna cooked it. She is not going to come.”
Ansel’s face suddenly darkened, and he glanced at Gavin coldly : “Did I let you go? Who told you to do it on your own?”
Gavin shrank his neck and coughed lightly: “I’m just worried about your health. You haven’t eaten much in the past few days. If Myrna hadn’t made porridge, you would still be hungry now…”
Ansel had a cold face and said nothing.
“By the way, I just went to Myrna’s house. The place she lives in now is small and shabby, and there is no elevator. She has to climb seven floors every day. It can be seen that her life is very hard.” He said while looking at Ansel ‘s face.
I noticed that although he said he deserved it, a hint of worry flashed across his eyes.
Well, it seems that I still can’t let it go.
Just when Gavin wanted to say something else, a sweet voice of “Baby~” came from the door.
Gavin and Clyde couldn’t help but shudder.
Got goosebumps all over my body…
Susie hadn’t heard from Ansel for a few days and couldn’t get through to him on the phone. So she asked Blithe and found out that Ansel was hospitalized due to gastric bleeding.
When she heard this, she panicked.
He didn’t even attend class and went straight to the hospital.
Seeing Ansel wearing a hospital gown and looking a little pale, she couldn’t help but pout, tears falling down: “Baby~ I’m sorry I just found out about your hospitalization. Are you feeling unwell anywhere? Why do you look so bad? Do you want me to call a doctor for you?”
Her series of questions made people annoyed, and what was even more annoying was that she started crying as soon as she came. Not only was Ansel speechless, but even Gavin and Clyde found it noisy.
Ansel rubbed his forehead, “It’s okay now, don’t cry.”
He suddenly missed the days he spent with Myrna .
If it were her, and he was sick, no matter how sad she was, she would arrange everything in an orderly manner.
Susie has been very good at reading people’s faces since she was a child. As soon as Ansel’s expression changed, she knew that she should control her emotions. She sobbed softly a few times and stopped crying, but her eyes were still red, full of worry and heartache.
Seeing that she was silent and only looked at him with a pair of tear-stained eyes, Ansel ‘s heart couldn’t help but soften.
“My illness… was very sudden, but it’s not a serious illness. I’m fine now. You can go back to school first.”
Susie pursed her lips: “You really don’t need me to accompany you? I can make you millet porridge…”
Gavin burst out laughing when he heard this. He hadn’t even finished the millet porridge he had obtained with great difficulty, and now someone else came and volunteered to give it to him. How could this be so funny?
Susie didn’t usually have much contact with Gavin and the others , so when he laughed, she noticed that there were other people in the ward.
Hearing his laughter, she felt a little annoyed. It was just cooking porridge, was it that funny?
Ansel understood, frowned and said calmly: “No, you should go back to school first.”
Susie heard the impatience in the man’s words and did not dare to resist. She just said okay and left.
Clyde, who had been silent, suddenly stood up and asked, “Do you still want to drink the porridge?”
Ansel wanted to say no, but in the end, looking at the bowl of cooked porridge, he said coldly with a dark face: “Who said I don’t want to drink it?”
