SASHA’S POV
I watched as Sebastian’s face twisted into a frown, his eyes wide with disbelief, shock, and confusion. He looked like he had been washed and drained of energy, his entire being sagging under the weight of my words.
I had expected him to be relieved, or even happy, but instead, he looked like he had just received the biggest shock of his life.
I felt a surge of confusion and frustration. Why did he look so shocked? He had wanted my answer so badly, and now that I had given it to him, he looked like he didn’t know what to do with it.
If he had wanted me to go out of the country, why did he even put the option of marrying him on the table?
“What did you just say your decision is?” he asked, his voice laced with incredulity, and I frowned. Did he suddenly go deaf, or did he just want me to repeat my statement?
“Didn’t hear me the first time, or you just want me to repeat my statement?” I inquired, my tone laced with sarcasm and annoyance.
I was certain that he had heard me the first time, I had been loud and clear while speaking. So what was the buzz about?
Sebastian scoffed, his eyes narrowing. “I need to confirm if you are really sure of what you just said,” he responded, his voice firm, and I sighed softly.
“I’m very sure, Sebastian. I will marry you. That’s my decision, and I’m very sure of that,” I replied, my voice loud and clear, leaving no room for doubt.
I had thought hard about it, and even though marrying him wasn’t what I really wanted, I had no other choice. I couldn’t leave the country now, not now, so if marrying him was the only way I got to live in the country, I would gladly do so.
Sebastian’s expression was still confused, his eyes searching mine for answers. “You had the option of going out of the country for good, but you choose to marry me. Why?” he asked, his voice laced with confusion and skepticism.
I felt a pang of frustration and irritation. Why was he questioning my decision? Didn’t he want me to marry him? I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down.
“I have my reasons, Sebastian. And I’m not going to discuss them with you right now,” I replied, my voice firm, and Sebastian’s eyes narrowed, his expression unreadable.
I felt a surge of irritation and annoyance. How did he think he could just figure out my reasons for marrying him?
“It’s none of your business,” I responded sharply, trying to keep my cool, but Sebastian just chuckled lightly.
“What? Don’t tell me… Wait! I think I know why,” he said, his eyes staring deep into mine, like he was about to search my soul for answers.
I felt a shiver run down my spine as I met his gaze, but I quickly looked away, trying to hide my emotions.
Why was he talking about? How did he get to know the reason I decided to marry him? I felt a sense of unease and frustration.
“How do you know why?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady, but Sebastian just smiled.
“It’s obvious, isn’t it? Everyone with a right sense could tell. You chose to marry me because you have been crushing on me,” he responded, his voice laced with amusement and sarcasm.
I hissed, feeling irritated and embarrassed.
What the heck was wrong with this guy? He thought I liked him? Why would I? I rolled my eyes at him, feeling annoyed.
“What the heck? I don’t like you!” I yelled, trying to keep my cool, but Sebastian just laughed.
“Calm down, you don’t need to feel shy about it. You can feel free to like me, there’s no problem, okay?” he responded, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
I frowned, feeling frustrated and annoyed.
What was he talking about? I had no feelings for him, why would he think I had feelings for him?
Did he really think he was every lady’s dream? I would admit that he had good looks and charm, but liking him was impossible! I would never try that.
“Will you just shut up? I have no intentions of falling in love with you, Sebastian,” I fired back at him, trying to keep my cool, but Sebastian just burst into an uncontrolled laughter.
I felt my face heat up with anger and frustration. Why was he laughing at me? Did he really think I was joking? I glared at him, trying to convey my annoyance, but he just kept laughing, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
I felt a surge of relief wash over me as I realized that Sebastian had just been teasing me all this while. That jerk! I thought, my eyes narrowing in annoyance.
“Fine, let’s say you have no feelings for me, but why do you choose to get married to me rather than going out of the country?” he asked, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
I frowned, feeling frustrated and irritated.
Let’s say? Does that mean he still doesn’t believe me? He doesn’t believe that I have no feelings for him? I thought, my mind racing with annoyance. Sebastian is just being a jerk and getting on my nerves.
“I choose to marry you only because I have something to do here in the country. I can’t afford to leave the country just yet,” I explained, trying to keep my cool. Sebastian nodded, his expression curious.
“Oh, I see. And what is that?” he asked, his eyes locked on mine. I chuckled lightly, feeling a sense of amusement.
Does he think I would tell him the reason I don’t want to leave the country? Hell no! I won’t, I thought, my mind racing with secrets.
“I can’t let you know about that, it’s personal,” I replied, trying to brush him off. Sebastian frowned, his expression disappointed.
“Something personal? But I want to know,” he inquired, his voice laced with curiosity. I sighed tiredly, feeling frustrated.
“Why do you want to know? I already told you it’s personal,” I replied, trying to keep my cool. Sebastian chuckled lightly, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
“Sasha, just let me know what it is. Why the hell can’t you tell me about it?” he responded, his voice laced with frustration. My face twisted into a frown, feeling annoyed.
“Don’t you understand what it means when something is called personal? It means it’s a secret, and a secret means I can’t tell you about it,” I explained, trying to break it down to him. I felt like I was talking to a brick wall, and it was getting on my nerves.
Sebastian’s expression was still curious, his eyes locked on mine, but I knew I wasn’t going to give in. I was determined to keep my secrets safe, no matter what.
I felt a surge of frustration and annoyance. There’s no way Sebastian doesn’t know what a secret is, but he just won’t stop trying to pry into my privacy. He’s like a dog with a bone, refusing to let go.
“I see, but you can share a secret. We are both going to get married anyway,” he responded, his voice laced with persuasion.
I scoffed, feeling a wave of irritation wash over me.
“I’m not ready to let it out. It’s a secret that you don’t need to know,” I replied firmly, trying to shut him down once and for all. But Sebastian just wouldn’t give up.
“Sasha…” he tried to say something, but I immediately interrupted him, making sure he didn’t complete his sentence.
I could see the determination in his eyes, and I knew he wouldn’t back down until he got the truth out of me. But I was determined to keep my secrets safe.
“What are the conditions of the contract? Let’s talk about that,” I replied, completely changing the topic and trying to steer the conversation in a different direction.
The more we dragged this conversation on, the more it got me annoyed. Sebastian’s persistence was starting to get on my nerves, and I knew I had to shut him down before he wore me down.
Sebastian sighed deeply, and I was sure he got the message immediately. He looked at me with a mixture of frustration and disappointment, but I didn’t care. I was relieved to have dodged the bullet, at least for now.
I could feel the tension in the air, but I was determined to keep my cool. I wasn’t going to let Sebastian get under my skin, no matter how hard he tried. I was going to keep my secrets safe, and that was that.
