She pulled away and Sia just stared at her lips. He wants more, but if that was all she’s going to give him, he might as well take it like that.
“Is there nothing I can do to convince you to stay?”
“My mind has been made up Sia,” she said and turned for the door.
“Even if you’re pregnant with my child?”
Thane choked on his spit and Izal’s eyes widened. Crinka paused in her steps and slowly turned around to face him, her hands clutching her belly. Goddess, could it be? Could she actually be pregnant for Sia? He hadn’t used protection the last time and she wasn’t on any pill so…She shook her head. No. She wasn’t pregnant. She couldn’t be.
“Am I…”, she began. “Am I?”
“No. I just wanted to know if you’ll stay had you been pregnant.”
“It’s impossible to bear your kids, so please refrain from making such assumptions.”
“So, you’re just going to leave?”, Thane asks her. “You said that you were going to….”
“That was before I lost my wolf, okay?”
“I know you’re in pain. I know you’re mad but consider Nasia and Ruarc before you make such decisions Ruarc shares a mate bond with you, and Sia also shares a bond with you that was created when you two fucked.”
“I’ve always considered them but have they ever considered me? I lost my cousin because of Sia, now I lost my wolf because of him. I’m afraid that if I keep hanging around him, I’m going to lose my sanity! Do you now understand why it’s important I leave?”
“I know you’re scared, but sometimes you just have to take risks”, Thane cooed. He really didn’t want her to stay, but because of a blue eyed blonde, he has to coax her into staying. Waxlyn’s bound to be the end of him.
“Look, how about you stay, go through the ceremony and all then if you’ll still want to leave…”
She butts in glaring. “I’ll obviously want to leave.”
He smirked. “We’ll see about that. However, if you still want to leave, you can go on the 25th. How about that?”
Crinka thought about it. A few more days with Sia? Would she be able to survive the pheromones coming off him? How long would she last before she caved? No, she couldn’t last another day here. She risked a glance at said man. He looked crestfallen, and her chest tightened. She then decided she would stay until the 25th. She owed him that much anyways.
As Crinka and Sia walked to his bed chambers that cool evening, she hoped that she wasn’t making a mistake.
….
“Thanks a lot Thane. I was this close losing to her and she just…”
Thane smiled. “Don’t thank me Nas. Now you have to make it work. She can’t leave, so you have to be sweet to her. She already has feelings for you, so just make her fall in love with you. She wouldn’t be able to leave so easily if you’re in her heart.”
Sia returned the smile. “Of course. Now go get some rest. You need it.”
Thane saluted Sia before marching off. Sia turned back to his bedroom door. She should be asleep now, he thought, stroking his chin.
Sighing, he opened the door and shut it, not very quietly. Crinka was startled by the sound, and Sia’s gaze met her livid ones. They hadn’t even spent ten minutes alone, and she was already angry.
“Could you be a little quieter? Some of us are trying to sleep.”
“Sorry,” he apologized and unzipped his pants. She stared at him; eyes wide.
“What are you doing?”
“Undressing. I thought it was pretty obvious,” he replied, kicking off his pants.
“It is. I just want to know why you’re doing it.”
“I always go to sleep bare Crinka. You know that.”
She swallowed as he unclasped his watch. “So, you’re going to sleep beside me naked?”
He nodded.
“Then I guess I would just sleep on the floor,” she said, getting up.
Sia frowned. “Why would you do that? The bed id big enough for both of us.”
“And that’s the problem,” she yelled. “It should be smaller, you know, made for one person.”
“Crinka, you’re being ridiculous. Now take off my coat and get on the bed.”
“No. The coat stays on. It’s too cold for me.”
“I’ll warm you with body heat.”
“I don’t want your body heat, and I don’t want to sleep on the bed if you’re going to be naked on it.”
His frown deepened. He couldn’t see what her problem was, but since he had just gotten her back, he could as well grant her request.
“Fine. The boxers won’t come off. Happy?”
“Very.”
“Good. Now take off the coat.”
“No.”
He let out a frustrated sigh. “What is it that you’re hiding? I have already seen everything.”
“I don’t want you to see my cuts or the scar,” her voice was quiet as she said this.
Sia softened. He approached her but she backed away. “Baby, the cuts or scar doesn’t change who you are. It doesn’t make you any less sexy. I have scars, but you still glisten when you see me half naked.”
Red painted her cheeks. “I do not!”
“How about we check huh?”
She shook her head as his words registered. There was no way she was letting him near her thighs. Not after what he has put her through. Crinka had been so engrossed in thought, she didn’t know when Sia took off the coat. She gasped as the cold air bit at her skin.
“You…”, she stumbled over her words as her hands flew up to shield her nakedness from view. Sia was hurt. He quickly masked it with concern. “You…You shouldn’t have done that!”
“And why not? Crinka, you’re beautiful and sexy. A few cuts and scars can’t make you any less beautiful.”
She scoffed, not believing a word he said. “Yeah right. I’m sure you said that to Anita or even Nuella.”
It was a moment later when Crinka realized what she had just said. Her mouth formed the words to apologize, but the deed had already been done. She had hurt him. It was written all over him.
“I’m sorry.”
“No don’t apologize. It’s my fault for openly expressing what I think.”
“No, I didn’t mean it. I swear! It just came out!”
He smiled sadly at her. “Words like that just don’t come out Crinka. You must have been planning on saying it for a while now. It’s nice to know what you think of me.”
He walked away but she pulled him back, rather harshly and his bare chest slammed into hers. Their gazes locked; breaths heavy. And for the next ten minutes they just stared and breathed. Crinka was the first to break the connection.
“You shouldn’t leave every time we have a fight. Even though I know that you don’t care about me, try not to…”
Sia punched the iced wall behind her, and she jumped. He was livid. He didn’t care about her? What did she know?
“Sia?”, she whispered.
He looked at her. “It’s your eyes. They’re purple.”
He cursed. He had already said that he wouldn’t show her his feral side again. He closed his eyes and reopened them after taking in deep breaths.
“Never say I do not care about you Crinka because I do. I care so much it hurts.”
“If… if what you say is true, prove it to me. I am a woman Sia, and I need you to prove it to me. Your words alone aren’t enough to convince me.”
He knew. That was how Anita was anyways. Always needing said words to be backed up with proof.
“I know but how do I show you Crinka? How do I show you that I care?”, his voice was thick with emotion.
She stared at his lips, then his hands. She wanted him and she wasn’t going to deny it any longer. It was very clear. No matter how mad he made her, his touch was all she needed for them to make up. And now standing here with her hardened nipples pressing into his chest, she knew that she would have to forgive him again.
“I don’t know either, but making love to me could be a great start.”
