“Have you spoken with the other concubines, wolf? Have you dined with them? More importantly have you learnt from them?”
I frown, munching quickly on the piece of pancake Sia had shoved into my mouth. Learn from them? What exactly does she want me to learn from them? Sex positions that will enable one to conceive sooner?
Swallowing, I bow low to the queen. “No, my queen. I haven’t had the opportunity to meet with them”
There’s a snort, and it’s coming from one of Ruarc’s wives.
“You haven’t had the opportunity? You mean to tell me wolf that you don’t know the other concubines?”
I slowly nod.
“Unbelievable. How then do you want to join the threshold of concubines if you simply have not met them wolf?”
“I would make sure I meet with them today my queen,” I speak quickly. Sia’s knuckles skim my thigh, and I shift nervously on his lap. He growls lowly. Goddess the sound!
“There’s no time for that I’m afraid,” Ruarc says, skillfully peeling an orange.
“And why not?”, Massa asks, popping a grape in his mouth. Why do they eat fruits when there is food on the table? I never seem to understand these men.
“She has only today to meet them and one day is simply not enough to know all of the royal concubines. Moreover, her dress fitting is today and the ceremony would officially begin tomorrow,” Ruarc replied.
“Ceremony? Oooh… father, is uncle Sia getting married?”, Waxlyn asked, turning to Thane. Izal choked on his drink. Cocci stifled a laugh.
Thane is red with embarrassment, and I’m trying so hard to hide the blush in my cheeks. Married? Does Sia even like weddings? Do I even like weddings?
“No Waxlyn, nobody is getting married.”
“But they will still be together, right?”
Thane groans, obviously fed up. “No, Waxlyn. They can’t be together.”
“And why not? I like her so she is staying.”
I bite back a smile.
Thane stares at his daughter, flabbergasted. “Waxlyn! You don’t even know her!”
“I like her hair. It’s beautiful and she’s beautiful too. Father, please let them be together.”
Thane looks like he’s on the verge of dying. “It’s not in my power darling.”
“But they look so good together father! See, he even has his hand up under her shirt! And you told me that whenever a man and a woman are touching each other under their clothes, they are meant to be together.”
Sia’s hand froze where it was on my belly. Thane is red with embarrassment, and laughs could be heard from the princes except Sia.
“Good parenting Thane,” Cocci said, winking at Thane. He glared at Cocci.
“Waxlyn, go to your room now!”
“So, you’re going to ground me because I learnt from you?”
Eloive whistled. Cocci cackled. Even Sia laughed.
“Savage,” Ruarc whispered.
“I don’t want to argue with you Waxlyn. Go to your room now!”
“Fine!”, the young girl shouted as she shot up from her chair. “But just so you know, I am never learning from you again because it seems that you’re just a stupid ignoramus!”
My eyes widen. And before Thane could yell at her, Waxlyn fled from the dining room.
“Stupid ignoramus huh? What have you been teaching your daughter Thane?”, Dolan asked.
“Zip it,” Thane muttered, cheeks bright red. He rode from his chair, breakfast forgotten. “If you will excuse me, I’ll take my leave now.”
He didn’t wait to be excused, walking hurriedly to the door.
“Don’t hurt the child Thane! After all she was your student!”, Cocci yelled with a laugh.
Thane flipped him the bird before leaving. Eloive stood up. “Um…I’m just going to make sure Waxlyn doesn’t get hurt. Yale, get up, you’re coming with me.”
The boy beside Izal frowns. I have gotten a better look at him now that I am seated on Sia’s thigh. He has Izal’s eyes, and a small nose. Sia pushes my bra down and I gasp when he pinches my nipple. Goddess, what sort of torture is this?
“But I want to stay with daddy,” he tells Eloive, scooting closer to his father. Izal doesn’t seem to appreciate the gesture. Eloive glares at Yale, irritation crowning his features.
“Yale get up now. Don’t make me come over there,” Eloive warns.
“You know what? You can come over. There’s room for one more,”
Sia chuckles, rolling my nipple between his fingers. I resist the urge to moan, gripping the table hard. Massa winks at me, chuckling. If I don’t die from pleasure, it’s from embarrassment.
“Yale!”, Eloive growls.
“Yale, go with your brother,” Izal says, taking the sliced orange that Ruarc handed to him.
“But daddy…”
“Go with your brother Yale.”
The young boy stands up, slamming his chair back as he walks away angrily. Eloive rolls his eyes and follows him.
“What’s with the royal kids being so rude these days? Waxlyn was being so abusive, Eloive was giving off the wrong vibes and Yale was just being disrespectful,” one of Ruarc’s wives spoke. She’s a brunette with big brown eyes. I think she’s Ruarc’s oldest wife because her tiara has a small touch of gold.
Sia doesn’t desist from his wicked acts, giving my left breast a soft stroke. I cover my small moan with a short laugh, ignoring the weird looks from Ruarc’s wives.
“It’s one thing to not give me grandchildren, and it’s another to insult the ones the gods have blessed me with. “Maybe if you start saying positive things about them, your womb might miraculously open,” Dogara stated.
Her mouth drops open. She closes it, looking to Ruarc for some kind of support. He doesn’t render any, reaching for another orange. She huffs, getting up to leave. No one stops her. The other wives stood and left, probably not wanting to be reminded of their childlessness.
“Now that they’re gone, Nasia please do us a favour and save your sexual escapades for the four walls of your bedroom,” Eleanor spoke up.
Sia pouts. He’s so adorable right now, I want to kiss him. “You don’t complain when Massa fucks his whore while we eat.”
“Hey! “Don’t bring me into this,” Massa shouts.
“Just put your hand down,” Ruarc mutters.
Sia rolls his eyes but complies.
“So how are the preparations going son?”
This question is directed at Ruarc. He sits up, staring at his father.
“Great. We’ve sent out the invites, and we can only hope that the Fae Queen would honour our invitation like last year, and the Vampire King would show up tomorrow. If that happens, the ceremony can commence tomorrow. As we all know the ceremony lasts for seven days, but with the ink blessed and all, it shouldn’t take more than three days. To speed up things a little bit, we have decided that the Claiming should be today.”
The Claiming? Please let it not be what I am thinking.
Thjis frowns. “The Claiming has always been after she has been tested. Why do you want to change things?”
“To speed up the procedure father. With the 25th fast approaching we can’t afford to waste a minute of our time”.
“I agree with Ruarc,” Elvis says. “The earlier the better.”
“Good. Have it your way then. If the King and Queen decide to surprise us this year, let me know. Now get someone to clean up all this mess.”
