“I knew you two were up to something when you didn’t show up for lunch,” Cocci said as he strolled into the room unannounced.
Sia rolled his eyes as he rolled off me. I try not to stare at his engorged cock as he pulled the sheets over my naked frame. It amazes me that he can still be excited after a whooping six rounds. I’m sure we would have gone for another round if Cocci hadn’t barged in when he did.
“Where’s Massa?”, I asked him.
“At the infirmary. Sia, dress up. You’re needed outside.”
“Why? What’s happened?”, Sia asks.
“It’s Ruarc, He has gone wild again, and it’s all your fault.”
“You can’t blame me for his madness. It’s not my fault that Raja gets a little jealous sometimes.”
Cocci glowered. “It’s not funny Sia. He could do some serious damage. Elvis and Eleanor are trying their best to hold him back, and we both know how bad they are when it comes to dealing with Raja.”
Sia curses as he pulls on his boxers along with his pants.
“Cocci, what exactly is happening? And who is Raja?”, I asked him, getting up, making sure the sheets are secured around my body.
“Someone you don’t want to meet.”
I frown. “That doesn’t actually tell me anything.”
“It wasn’t supposed to,” Sia says. “Pass me my shirt Crinka.”
I take the shirt from where it lay under the pillows, but I don’t pass it to him. “No. Let me come with you first.”
“I don’t have the time for this Crinka. Give me my shirt.”
“Just let me come with you and you can have it.”
“You will only get hurt Crinka. Don’t fight me on this. Now give me my shirt.”
“No. Let me come with you Sia, I might be of help.”
“It’s not up for discussion.”
“Actually, it is. Just let me come with you! I’ll stay out of the way. I just don’t want to be holed up here like some fucking housewife!”
“But isn’t that what you are? A fucking housewife?”, Cocci asks. I glowered at him. Sia uses my distraction to his advantage and snatches his shirt out of my hands. He hastily put it on.
“Cocci, I’m going to pretend like you didn’t just call her that. Crinka, Cocci will stay here with you, and you’re forbidden to bother him,” Sia says, putting on his sneakers.
“I hate you.”
“I guess that’s better than loving me.”
Before I could curse him out, he pulls me to him, and secures my lips with his. He pulls away, pressing his forehead to mine. “I hate to leave you with him…”
“I heard that!”, Cocci yells.
“I hate to leave you with him my love, but it’s for your safety. Ruarc isn’t his best in his beast form, and I would rather have you safe within these four walls, than have you where he is. So please, stay here and wait for my return. Okay?”
I nod. “Okay.”
He squeezes my ass. “That’s my good girl.”
We kiss for a while, before Sia steps back, to answer his duty calls. I glare hotly at Cocci once Sia leaves.
“You should be out there you know, dealing with Raja.”
Cocci rose a brow. “If that’s your ploy to get me to leave, try again. Now put on some clothes before you freeze to death.”
“I feel fine.”
“The palace is bound to get colder. It’s what Raja does when he’s out. Maybe he thinks reducing the temperature would kill us all.”
“But it wouldn’t, would it?”
“No, but it would kill you.”
Ten minutes have passed and Sia is yet to return. I feel something has gone amiss, and Cocci hasn’t taken his eyes off me. He only did it to let me wear clothes. I have to leave here. Sia needs me, and I can’t help him, if I’m stuck in here with Cocci.
“Let me go Cocci. Your brother needs you.”
Cocci rolled his eyes. “The only thing he needs is for you to stay put.”
“You’re so freaking annoying! Just let me go! I won’t even get in the way! Sia wouldn’t even know I’m there.”
“No. It’s not safe for you out there. Originally, we lycans, don’t get on well with wolves, and Raja is a lycan. He’s going to jump on you the moment he sets sights on you.”
“That’s a lie. If Raja wanted to kill me, he would have done it weeks ago, when I was on his back, on our way here.”
“You don’t understand. We lycans, we’re not like you wolves. When you guys’ shift, you tend to submit all your senses to your wolf, and let him or her take over. That’s what makes you werewolves. It’s not the same for us lycans. We can still be in control of our senses when we are in our beast form, and we only tend to submit to the animal inside us, if necessary. Ruarc was in control when he was in his beast form weeks ago. He isn’t in control now.”
“I still need to leave.”
Cocc shrugs, settling back on the sheets, where Sia and I had been some minutes ago. Ah, the memory.
My eyes drift to the bowl of grinded peppers on the dresser. Massa abandoned them there earlier this morning. He had threatened me with it, and now I can threaten Cocci with it. He is going to hate me for this, but I can deal with the aftermath later. I grabbed the bowl, and without care, sprinkled the peppers in Cocci’s eyes. He let out a loud scream, and I bolted for the door. Unlocking it, I bolted out of the room, running as far as my legs can carry me.
The hallway is empty when I step out of the east wing. I walk a few steps towards the west wing, and that’s when I hear it. Growls with a lot of swearing. I walk a bit further towards the sounds, hiding behind an iced pillar to avoid myself from being seen.
Eleanor, Elvis and Sia were present. Ruarc is in his beast form just as Cocci had said, snarling furiously. His attempts to move forward are constantly blocked by the three brothers. He looks very rabid with his fangs down, eyes dark.
“Raja give Ruarc control,” Eleanor says and the wolf growls, snapping its jaws at his brother. Sia has the guts to look bored.
He took a step forward towards the furious lycan. “Raja listen to me. You have every right to be mad at me, but you need to calm the fuck down. You’re scaring the kingdom, growling like this. How about you give Ruarc control and we settle this issue like civilized beings?”
Sia’s question only made Raja madder. The lycan charged towards Sia, and Elvis ducked out of the way. I scream, running to Sia in a futile attempt to save him. Sia is fine, but I am not. Raja retreats with a chunk of my flesh in his mouth, and it takes a while for the pain to register, as I stare at my calf. One thing is for sure, my leg is going to need stitches. Sia curses as he gently lowers me to the ground. Tears rolled down my cheeks. Lord, it hurts so much.
“Stupid wolf. Didn’t I ask you to stay back?”
I let out a sob. “I… didn’t want him to kill you.”
“Raja can’t kill me. Hold on, okay?”
“I can’t. It… it hurts. Just like that shark bite.”
Sia curses, scooping me up in his arms. He carries me gently to where I’m guessing is the infirmary. I know we have reached there when the pungent smell of medicines floods my nostrils. I’m being placed on a bed, and I mewl when Sia leaves my side. He returns later with Izal. The prince frowns as he inspects my leg.
“Did Raja do this?”, Izal asks.
Sia nods.
Izal cursed, waving down a nurse. She helps him with a latex glove. I stare at them both, breathing hard. “She’s going to need stitches, but first I need to take care of the bleeding. The damage is not much, so it should heal in a few days. It’s going to leave a scar, but I’ll give you something to clear it up.”
“Give her something for the pain. It hurts me to see her like this.”
Izal stared at Sia. “I am afraid I can’t. I have been strictly ordered to not render any medical help to wolves. I shouldn’t even have let her in.”
Sia glared. “And who gave such stupid orders?”
“I think you already know. Look, you’ve helped me a lot with my son, so I’m just going to do this once. I’ll take care of the bleeding, stitch her up, and give her something for the scar. But she won’t have any painkillers. Deal?”
Sia stared haughtily at his brother’s open palm. Please goddess, don’t let him shake it. I don’t think I can bear the pain of being stitched up.
I cry out in pain once Sia shook his brother’s hand. “Deal.”
I scream as two nurses appear by my side. I shake my head at Sia. “No. Please I would rather just die. Don’t let them do this to me! Sia please!”, I beg him.
“Don’t be stubborn. It’s for your own good.”
I tremble as Izal gently cleans my wound. I could manage some methylated spirit, but not stitches. “No Sia you don’t understand. I can’t… the need…”
The words die in my throat as a scream erupts from my mouth. The nurses hold me down, as Izal stitches my leg. Shame washes over me as I realize that Sia had only been a distraction. I scream again, trashing in their hold. I’m sweating profusely, the clothes on my back sticking to my skin.
Just when I thought I would pass out from the pain, the nurses released me, and Izal stepped back, and one of the nurses helped him dispose of the glove. I wonder how he’s faring as a physician with just an arm. But after what he just made me go through, I feel like cutting the other one off.
“Thanks a lot brother. How is Massa and Eloive?”
“Massa is barely alive and he is not responding to treatment. Eloive is responding to treatment, but we’ve put him in coma, to enable him recover fully.”
“Okay.”
“Look brother, I know that there is more to this woman that you two are letting on, and I am not going to force you to tell me. Just be careful. She is not to be trusted.”
Not to be trusted my arse. Oh, how I want to pulp his brain.
“I will be the judge of that brother. Now if you will excuse us, I want to talk to her.”
“Of course,” he says and exits the room with the nurses. Sia shuts the door, and turns to me.
“Where’s Cocci if you’re here?”
“He should be in a bathroom by now, trying to rinse the pepper out of his eyes.”
“Of course,” he muttered angrily.
“I don’t get why you’re mad at me.”
“Are you being serious right now? Crinka your leg looks really ugly with all those stitches, and mine hurts like hell.”
Ugly? After I saved his goddamned life?
“What makes you madder? Is it the fact that I disobeyed you and got injured or that you’re hurting as hell because it sounds more like the latter”.
“Maybe it is Crinka, maybe it is. Would it have killed you to obey me? All I asked was for you to bear with me until I returned but no you’ve grown too big that my orders are too small for you. What would it have taken you to just stay the fuck back?”
“Stop it okay? Stop it! I’ve had enough of you shouting at me! What happened has happened and there’s nothing you can do about it. The least you can do right now is to be here for me, Sia. Be here for me.”
“I was, but not anymore.”
