April refused to say a word until her lawyer was available.
Following her public arrest, viral wedding, and a new appointment as the CEO of Rivera Stores and LT Constructions, the scandal was a huge one that garnered a lot of attention.
April was in her room when her mother came with the family lawyer.
“You have ten minutes.” The police officer said before stepping out of the room.
“What is going on? Why am I still here?” She asked her mother, barely managing to contain her anger.
“We are working tirelessly to secure your bail. That wench June is responsible for this. She just wants you to suffer! I will make sure I deal with her.” Evelyn said to her daughter, battling her anger.
“Your bail is in process. You will have to pay-”
“I don’t care how much that needs to be paid!” April yelled at the lawyer. “Get me out of here and I will take care of things myself.”
“Okay, Ma’am.” The lawyer stood up and left the room, deciding he would be more useful trying to secure his boss’s release without being the recipient of her direct anger.
“Who is Mr. Garfield? Why were you at his funeral?” Evelyn asked, confused. “That wench is cooking up a storm out there. I need to-”
“Just get me out of here, Mother! Is that too hard to do? Where is Ethan? Keep an eye on him. You should be out there watching things with the companies and getting me out of here Mom.”
Evelyn fought the urge to lash out at her daughter. “I know-”
April stood up, “I don’t want to talk Mom. We can talk when I am out of here.”
“We still have five minutes,”
“I suggest you use it wisely. Get me out of here mother. Then we can talk about everything.” April approached the door, leaving her mother in the room, she followed the officer back to her holding cell.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Ethan held his mother as they awaited the news from the doctor who took in his father for medical attention. It’s been four hours and there’s been no word whatsoever on the fare of Gary Lontoc.
The door suddenly opened and the doctor came out to the waiting area. Olivia rushed to him in tears.
“How is he? How is my husband?!”
Ethan held his mother, “Please doctor, talk to me. How is my father? What is his condition?”
The doctor was empathetic as he faced the mother and son duo. “I am sorry.”
“No!” Olivia said holding the doctor by his overall. “Where is my husband? Take me to him!”
“We lost him. We tried our best to keep him alive but he didn’t make it. His heart failed and due to his stroke, his body just couldn’t take it any more. I am sorry for your loss.”
Olivia fell to the ground, unable to believe her ears. Ethan shook his head in disbelief. “Take me to him. Take me to my father!”
“He has been taken to the storage facility. The nurse will take you there,” The doctor walked away, leaving the bereaved to the nurse who stood, waiting to show them the body of Mr. Gary Lontoc.
“I will kill her,” Olivia said as she looked at the cold lifeless body of her husband. “I will make her regret ever being born.”
Hot tears dripped her eyes as she took in the husband of her youth, the man she had lived the major part of her life with. The father of her son, and the man of her dreams.
His life had been cut short. All because of that wench. The Rivera family was a curse that needed to be scourged off the earth, and she was going to make sure to cleanse the earth of them.
“Where is that wife of yours?” Olivia asked as they stepped into the house with a gloomy look on her face.
“She has been arrested.” Ethan supplied, voice void of emotions.
Olivia’s brows perked at the words of her son. “What?”
“Lucy has sued her for murder. She is currently under detention and investigation by the police.” Ethan picked up the remote and turned on the television.
Sure enough, the news was reporting on his wife who he had yet to see since she had been taken away. His mother watched the news with a blank look on her face.
“This is the time we recover what we have lost.” She said and Ethan faced her.
“The lawyer said he would grant her bail soon. The case is not strong enough. Unless they can provide evidence of April’s relationship with the nurse, then she could receive bail.”
“Then we must ensure she doesn’t receive bail. We need to make that case stronger.” Olivia said,
“What do you mean?”
“Do you want to avenge your father’s death and take back all you have lost from that woman?” Olivia snapped, tired of her son’s slothful thinking.
“What do I have to do?”
“Good question.”

June sat in her room following the news of her sister’s arrest.
Lucy had filed the case and the evidence on hand had been sent to the prosecutor recommended by Carson. Things were hectic with the search for the nurse who had disappeared from the face of the earth.
Her phone rang and it was Lucy.
“Hello?” June placed the phone over her ears.
“I just received intel from an anonymous person that Gary Lontoc is dead,” Lucy said in one breath.
“What?”
“They sent a footage. I think you need to see this. It might be what we need to deliver the final blow to that woman.”
June got on her feet. “Give me a few minutes.”
After dropping the call, June took the quickest bath, dressed and headed out of the room. She stopped by Luis’s room, and discreetly shut the door when she realised that he was asleep.
Soon enough, she was driving out of the house with Thomas as they headed for her company. With the presence of her mother-in-law and the strained relationship with Rafael, she scarcely left the house and preferred to work remotely.
June walked into Lucy’s office and met the private investigator seated with a laptop in his hand, typing relentlessly.
“Ma’am.” Lucy got up once she sighted her.
“What’s going on?”
“They sent in footage of the Lontoc Family house,” Lucy said then turned to the investigator. “Kels, please meet Mrs. Ambrose.”
The young man dropped his laptop aside and shook June’s hand.
“Great. I’ll just play the video so we can all watch.” Lucy went ahead and played the video.
June watched with rapt attention the video of how April took over the LT Constructions, how Gary Lontoc dropped with a stroke and was refused treatment by April, and how he died.
The video was engineered in such a way that it pointed fingers at April as the culprit. June smelled something fishy.
“You got this from an anonymous handle?” She asked Luch who nodded in agreement.
“The video was captioned the death of Gary Lontoc.”
Kels cleared his throat, “From my findings, Elder Lontoc was rushed to the hospital this morning. The family are being discreet about it with the public scandal of Mrs April’s arrest.”
“The prosecutor says they are trying to bail her on grounds of not enough evidence. The bail is quite large but it’s nothing to the Lontoc family.”
A frown marred June’s face. “What do you suggest we do?”
“I suggest we wait,” Lucy said. “If this is a trap, we would be taking them by surprise by not doing anything. I think time would unravel things. The public is currently on our side. We can use that to our advantage and hope the pressure makes them reveal their cars.”
June smiled. “I second that. We have made our move. It’s time to be on the watchout and see where this goes.” She turned to Kels. “Please be on the lookout, I will stay in touch.”

April was brought into the room where Ethan was seated with his mother.
“Took you long enough, husband.” She sneered, not bothering to hide her anger and distaste for the man seated before her.
It has been over twenty hours and that darned lawyer of hers was yet to secure her bail.
“Father is dead,” Ethan said, looking her dead in the eye. “He didn’t survive it.”
April couldn’t be bothered. “Is that so? Poor father.”
“Is that all you can say?” Olivia spoke up and Ethan held her hand, tightening softly.
“Was I supposed to bawl my eyes out? I am in prison for crying out loud. I’m sorry if I don’t have the time or strength to be the weepy daughter-in-law you want me to be.”
“Good enough,” Ethan remarked. “We will be taking care of things while you stay in here.”
“Don’t get too cocky. I will be leaving here soon.” April said with blazing eyes.
“I don’t think so, honey,” Ethan said with an equally blazing eyes. “Because I just dropped a confession of how you killed my father by withholding him from getting the treatment he deserved.”
April tried and failed to hide the shock in her eyes. “Did you come here to threaten me?”
A scoff. “I don’t threaten people, love. I state facts. Get ready to face the dance of the music. Because I will not stop until I take everything back from you.”
