Gabriel’s birthday.
Wrong password?
Paige was stunned. Enrico had not used his son’s birthday as the password. She bit her lip and then entered the two of their birthdays, the date of their registration, the date they first met, and even the date he ran away from home as the password.
All of them were wrong.
It couldn’t be 123456, could it? Paige kept pressing the buttons, and the door unlocked and opened.
“…”
Paige and Gabriel were both a little dazed.
It had to be said, Enrico was a genius when it came to setting passwords.
Or had she entered the wrong one and broken into the wrong house?
Paige hesitated at the door for a moment, then took Gabriel’s hand and walked in, figuring that if she’d made a mistake, she could always turn herself in to the police.
The villas in the neighborhood are all furnished and ready to move in, so the layouts inside are basically identical. This place is no different from the house she lives in, except that there are no children’s items and no warm decorations Olivia arranged.
It seems that the entire house still maintains the appearance of being furnished, clean and neat.
There are flower racks in the yard and on the balcony, but there are not a single flower in the house.
Paige opened the shoe cabinet in the entrance hall. Inside, there was only a pair of men’s leather shoes, the exact size of Enrico’s.
She was now completely sure.
“Daddy! Daddy, we’re here!”
Gabriel shouted, putting his small hands together in front of his mouth like a trumpet.
“Enrico, I know you’re here. Come out and let’s have a good chat,” Paige said as she walked in.
There was no reply.
Gabriel shouted a little tired and directly fell on the sofa next to him.
Paige glanced in the direction of the stairs and shouted, “Enrico, do you have to make me go up to the balcony and see the telescope pointed at my house before you will come out?”
After the words, the man’s mocking voice came down the stairs, “Huh, you think you’re capable of finding a telescope?”
Paige looked up and saw the tall man slowly walking down the stairs. He was wearing a short-sleeved cotton black shirt with a low, loose-fitting collar, looking very lazy. His sapphire-studded watch was on his bony hand, and the antler tattoo on his forearm was extremely eye-catching.
He stopped high above her and looked down at her. His face was not exactly pretty, with slightly droopy eyes and thin lips pursed in a way that did not convey any positive emotions.
Enrico.
Paige stood in the living room and smiled at him.
Gabriel immediately jumped off the sofa, stood obediently, and placed his two small hands against the seams of his pants. “Hello, Daddy, good morning, Daddy, you’re so handsome.”
How did he really find it?
Mommy’s IQ is too high, which is not a good thing.
Enrico gave him a cold look, then slowly walked down while twirling his wrist. His long legs stopped in front of Paige, and his attitude was a bit overbearing, “If I really wanted to hide, do you think you could find me?”
Paige laughed lightly, “I know, it’s because you don’t really want to hide that I have to find you faster.”
Otherwise, if she doesn’t really want to find her husband, won’t it look like she’s not sincere?
“Heh, speed up?” Enrico sneered, “You speed up when you talk to someone?”
“…”
It’s true that they’ve seen everything.
Paige was silent.
Gabriel stood there, thinking that Enrico would tell him to go study, but he didn’t expect Enrico to just give him a look and then treat him like an invisible person, walking directly towards the open kitchen.
Phew.
Saved.
Gabriel wriggled his hips a little and moved to the side, to a sofa with its back to the kitchen, and climbed up quietly to hide.
Can’t see him, can’t see him.
You guys chat, you guys chat.
Enrico walked over to the island counter, picked up the glass jug on it and poured himself a glass of water, drinking it expressionlessly.
You have to have the right attitude to chase a husband.
Paige took a deep breath and walked towards him, her smile a little coaxing and soft, “Are you still angry?”
“…”
Enrico ignored her as he drank his water.
“You’re not happy to see me chasing after you either?” Paige leaned over the island counter to look at him.
“What kind of fairy are you that I should be happy to be chased after?”
Enrico didn’t look at her, and with the glass of water in his hand, he snorted.
“…”
That’s too much.
Paige looked at the curve of his jaw and said, “I’ve left everything to other people. This time I’ve brought my son with me and haven’t done any work.”
“No wonder I see you in a state as if you’re on holiday,”
Enrico said flatly as he placed the square-mouthed cup on the island bench and twirled his long fingers.
“I looked for you when I went jogging at night, and I looked for you when I delivered flowers in the morning. I looked for you all the time,” Paige continued to coax.
Enrico looked at her pensively, knowing what he was going to say. She hurriedly explained first, “This is Kevin’s territory, and I’m sure someone notified him when I arrived. He just came to ask about the situation. I didn’t ask him for anything, and he didn’t ask me for anything either.”
“Did I ask him for anything?” Enrico said with a face like I don’t even want to hear it.
“I don’t know the man who delivered the flowers either. He just came to show his love for his neighbors,” Paige explained again.
“Showing love for your neighbors, do you need to turn your ears red?” Enrico sneered.
“I thought you would say that you didn’t want to ask him either,” Paige couldn’t help but laugh.
His binoculars really see clearly, he knows when your ears turn red.
“…”
Enrico was stunned by her words, his eyes stiffened, and his face looked even worse.
Paige straightened up and walked towards him, reaching out to wrap her hands around his narrow waist. “Enrico, please don’t be angry, okay? I really promise that the thing you’re worried about won’t happen again. I’ll never take matters into my own hands again without considering your feelings.”
Enrico rubbed the square mug with a cold face, his small hands pressing against him through the thin fabric. The temperature wasn’t hot but burning, soft as if they had no bones, and extremely present.
He didn’t push her away, but said coldly, “Let’s see what happens.”
“So we go home?” Paige asked.
Go home?
Back to The Capital, where there was a mountain of work to be done?
Enrico’s face darkened, and he said coldly, “I said, let’s see what happens. I’m still angry!”
Enrico was being pretentious again.
Paige really wanted to say to him, “If you’re not over it, then forget it,” but for the sake of family harmony, she maintained a smile, “Isn’t my attitude good enough?”
“Running from The Capital to the border is considered a good attitude?”
Enrico stood straight, letting her wrap her arms around his waist, in a gesture of superiority. He didn’t even touch her, and his words were full of disdain. “All you know is to force people to get married at gunpoint, and you don’t know how to please a man. You think being a wife is so easy, just acting wilfully and doing whatever you want?”
It’s not easy, otherwise women wouldn’t all be reluctant to get married.
Paige muttered to herself, but she could also see that Enrico really wanted to take this opportunity to put on a show.
Fine, she’ll put up with it.
After all, she broke his heart first.
Paige hugged his waist, “I’ll coax you. How about this, I’ll cook lunch today, I’ll make something delicious for you.”
Enrico didn’t react much to this, but Gabriel suddenly sat up straight on the sofa and looked at Enrico with a sad expression.
“Daddy, why are you doing this?”
