She pinched her eyebrows, sat upright on the floor, stretched her back, and looked at the bed with her eyes, then she was startled.
She saw that the quilt had been flipped to the side, the bed was flat and tidy, and there was no one there.
No one!
“Enrico?”
Paige hurriedly got up from the floor and walked towards the bathroom, saying, ‘You need to rest. The doctor said you should wake up and have another check-up today, and you should drink more water.’
She reached out and pushed open the bathroom door.
It opened as soon as she pushed.
There was no one inside at all.
Where had he gone? Downstairs for dinner? Recovering so quickly?
Paige walked downstairs a little strangely, wearing a pair of slippers and not even changing her clothes.
It was just dawn, and the sunlight outside the door was still cool, falling lightly into the courtyard. Blanca was standing alone in the courtyard, wearing sportswear, stretching her muscles. From the direction of the kitchen came the sound of Olivia cooking.
Paige walked out the door, and Blanca looked back at her, smiling, “Why didn’t you sleep more?”
“Have you seen Enrico?”
Paige asked bluntly.
“No,” Blanca’s smile faded, “He’s not in his room?”
“I haven’t seen him since I woke up,” Paige frowned.
“Maybe he went to see Gabriel, the little one is still sleeping,” Blanca said.
Gabriel?
He took so many pills last night, and still has the energy to go see Gabriel?
Paige was a little puzzled, and was about to go up and take a look when the sound of a car’s engine turning off came from outside, and Blanca walked over to open the gate.
Several cars were parked outside, and Beatrice and Brangelina got out of one of them. Alonso got out of the other car, opened the door for the back seat, and Mitchell, with silver hair and full of energy, got out of the car and nodded and smiled at Paige when he saw her.
Paige quickly straightened up and nodded back.
“I didn’t see Enrico at the meeting yesterday, so I came here today to talk to him. I happened to run into my in-laws on the way,”
Mitchell smiled as he walked over and glanced over at Beinice.
Paige responded.
Beinice walked over with a smile, carrying a large bag of fruit in her hands. “We wanted to talk to you about the Folsom family moving back to Country A. We bought you some fruit on the way over, and I didn’t know what you liked, so I got you a bit of everything.”
“Thank you,” Paige said, taking it. On the other side, Alonso walked towards her carrying a pink teddy bear.
It was dazzling pink, glaring pink, huge pink, almost as tall as a person.
Er…
“Here, Paige, this is for you…” Alonso excitedly walked up to her, but when he saw her frozen expression, the words on his lips took a turn, “It’s for your son to play with.”
“…”
Why would her son want to play with such a big pink teddy bear.
Paige didn’t want to offend him, so she accepted everything, “Okay, come in and sit down, we can have breakfast together.”
It was still early.
A group of people entered the courtyard and then the building in a flurry.
Paige walked into the kitchen and said to Olivia, “Olivia, I’m sorry, but all the relatives are here, so could you prepare a little more breakfast?”
“There’s no need to be embarrassed. We’re going to have breakfast ourselves anyway,” Olivia said nonchalantly.
“Thank you.”
Paige wanted to help her out, but before she could, Enrico said, ‘Olivia, have you seen Enrico? Has he gone to see Gabriel?’
“No, I haven’t. I just came down here a while ago, and I haven’t seen the young master,” Olivia said, looking at her strangely.
“…”
So, he’s not in Gabriel’s room?
Paige was worried, so she ran to Gabriel’s room and took a look. Gabriel was alone in the room, lying on the bed, hugging a thin quilt, with his little bottom sticking up, sleeping soundly and oblivious to the time.
This sleeping posture was also superb.
Paige walked over, picked Gabriel up and laid him flat on the bed, pulled back the quilt and tried to cover him up.
As she shook it open, something fell out.
She looked down and saw a piece of white cardboard.
Paige picked it up and saw a line of cursive handwriting on it
“I’m gone.”
The signature was a forceful “Enrico” that was arrogant beyond belief.
“…”
Paige looked at the words on it in a daze. A few seconds later, she lifted Gabriel, who was sleeping soundly in bed.

In the living room, Mitchell was chatting with Beatrice and the others. “This AS schizophrenia gene has plagued our the Davis family for generations. Once we are liberated, I, an old man, just feel full of energy.”
“The old man looks healthy,” Beatrice said with a smile as she sat down.
“Our two families have returned to the country. Given time, we will be the greatest help to the two children.”
Mitchell doesn’t sound like an old man when he talks, with endless ambition.
This ambition has been suppressed for a lifetime, and for generations of the Davis family. Now, he can finally realize his ambitions.
“You’re right, that’s what I think too. Admittedly, Enrico and Paige are excellent and don’t need us to add any icing to the cake, but the more firmly we plant this root, the more smoothly Gabriel will be able to live in the future.” Beinice agrees wholeheartedly.
“Speaking of Gabriel, I haven’t met this little great-grandson yet. I think my great-grandson must be a genius.”
Mitchell’s smile could not fade when he thought about having a great-grandson.
With the blood of the two families mixing, this child is definitely intelligent and cute, and will definitely become a great person in the future, someone who will become a big shot in Country A and go down in history.
Mitchell was immersed in a beautiful fantasy when he heard a young squeal, “Ouch, Mommy, Mommy… I haven’t had enough sleep.”
Everyone looked up and saw Paige walking down the stairs with Gabriel in her arms. Gabriel was hanging lazily from her body, still trying to sleep. Paige patted his little face and said, “Wake up, I have some questions for you.”
Paige put him directly on the sofa opposite Mitchell, patted his little face, and said, “Wake up, I have some questions for you.”
“No, I’m sleepy…”
Gabriel leaned over to sleep.
Paige picked him up and sat him up, “Answer my questions, or I’ll give you extra homework.”
Gabriel’s little body trembled, and finally he opened his eyes, yawning and silently looking at her with a somewhat plaintive expression, as if to say, “Mommy, how could you do this to me?”
“Did Daddy look for you in the morning and talk to you? Think carefully before you answer.”
Paige’s attitude was very serious.
Gabriel looked at her blankly, tilted his little head and thought about it, then nodded, ‘Oh, it seems Daddy looked for me.’
“What did he say to you?” Paige’s heart tightened.
“He said…” Gabriel thought hard to remember, then imitating someone’s tone of voice, ‘tell your mother that I can’t stay in this family anymore, I’m leaving, and she shouldn’t come looking for me.’
Upon hearing this, everyone was shocked.
What was Enrico doing, running away from home?
“Then what?” Paige’s eyebrows furrowed.
“Then…” Gabriel waved his little hand, ‘I just said goodbye to Daddy, very politely.’
Is there a problem?
“…”
Your father ran away from home, and you just said goodbye?
Mitchell looked at his extraordinary great-grandson in front of him and fell into deep thought.
