Seraphina sneered as she spoke, her tone dripping with contempt. Dark Sin felt a sudden pang of unease settle in his chest.
“Seraphina, I don’t have time for your nonsense!” he barked, his voice laced with anger. Turning to his men, he commanded, “Brothers, seize this vile woman for me!”
With a wave of his hand, over a hundred cultivators from the Hall of Valerian surged forward, ready to act. To Dark Sin, Seraphina and Esther were interchangeable. Capturing either of them would give him the leverage he needed to threaten Chris.
But Seraphina smirked and shot back, “Dark Sin, you think you’re some big shot? Turns out, you’re nothing but a colossal idiot!”
Before her words had fully landed, the ground began to tremble.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
From every direction, dark green Humvees roared into view, forming an unstoppable tide of steel. One by one, the Guards of Death emerged from the vehicles, surrounding Dark Sin and his men in a suffocating encirclement.
Dark Sin’s face shifted dramatically. He hadn’t foreseen this. The entire situation was a trap.
The door of a bulletproof Humvee opened, and Chris stepped out, Tiger following closely behind. Seraphina casually retreated behind Chris, her confidence unwavering.
“Chris!” Dark Sin roared in frustration, his eyes brimming with hatred.
If it weren’t for Chris, his arm wouldn’t have been severed. Seeing his enemy now only deepened the fury within him.
“Chris, don’t get cocky!” Dark Sin snapped. “This time, I’ve brought not only over a hundred elite Hall of Valerian cultivators but also reinforcements from Whisperwind Ridge. You’re as good as dead!”
Beside him, a man named Zephyr Rivers, who had been silent until now, spoke up. “So, this man is Primus Chris?”
Dark Sin nodded grimly. “Yes, that’s him.”
Hearing the name, a cold glint flashed in Zephyr Rivers’ eyes. Stepping forward, his sharp gaze locked onto Chris. “Chris,” Zephyr Rivers said, his voice icy, “you’re the one who crippled my master’s arm, aren’t you?”
Chris glanced at him dismissively. “That’s right. And what of it? Are you Ethan Stone’s disciple? Let me guess, that coward didn’t have the guts to come himself, so he sent you to die in his place?”
Zephyr Rivers’ face twisted with rage. Ethan Stone was his revered master. Chris’ words were an insult not only to his teacher but to himself.
“Chris!” Zephyr Rivers bellowed, his voice trembling with fury. “You’ll pay with your life for insulting my master! Today, I’ll kill you and avenge his arm!”
With that, Zephyr Rivers unsheathed a long sword from his waist and lunged at Chris with murderous intent.
Chris snorted coldly, meeting the attack head-on without hesitation.
Zephyr Rivers’ lips curled into a sneer as he thrust his blade toward Chris’ chest, certain of his victory. But Chris didn’t dodge. Instead, he clenched his fist and swung it directly at the blade.
Crack!
The sound of shattering steel echoed through the air. Zephyr Rivers’ sword broke into two pieces under the force of Chris’ punch.
Zephyr Rivers staggered back in shock, his face pale. His sword, forged from the finest steel, had been reduced to scrap in an instant.
Gritting his teeth, he threw the broken blade aside. “Chris,” he hissed, “I underestimated you. But let’s see how you handle this!”
He charged forward again, this time aiming a punch directly at Chris.
Boom!
Their fists collided with a deafening impact, and both men were forced backward. Chris steadied himself, his eyes filled with both surprise and respect.
Zephyr Rivers, despite his arrogance, was clearly no ordinary opponent. As Ethan Stone’s prized disciple, his strength exceeded most.
However, it was equally clear to Zephyr Rivers that he was outmatched. Just one exchange of blows was enough to make him realize he wasn’t on Chris’ level.
Dark Sin, watching the battle unfold, saw the hesitation in Zephyr Rivers’ eyes. He roared, “Everyone, attack! Kill Chris at all costs!”
At his command, over a hundred cultivators from the Hall of Valerian charged at Chris.
Chris, unfazed, let out a derisive laugh. He raised a hand and waved it dismissively.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Suddenly, a cacophony of gunfire erupted.
The Guards of Death raised their firearms and unleashed a torrential rain of bullets on the charging cultivators.
Screams filled the air as one by one, the elite cultivators fell. Though their strength was formidable, they were no match for the sheer firepower of the Guards of Death.
In mere moments, the once-mighty force was reduced to chaos. Blood pooled on the ground as dozens of bodies collapsed lifelessly.
Dark Sin’s eyes burned with fury. “Bastard! Chris, you call this a fair fight? You hide behind numbers and weapons! If you’re a real man, face me one-on-one!”
Chris smirked coldly. “This is the East Coast, my territory. Did you think you could waltz in here and cause trouble without consequences?”
Within minutes, the hundred cultivators of the Hall of Valerian were wiped out, their bodies strewn across the battlefield.
Zephyr Rivers, realizing the situation was hopeless, hesitated. If he stayed, he’d undoubtedly meet the same fate.
“Chris!” he roared in desperation, throwing a punch toward his opponent as a last-ditch effort before retreating.
Chris met him head-on, their fists clashing with explosive force.
Zephyr Rivers tried to use the momentum to escape, but Chris was relentless. Grabbing Zephyr Rivers’ arm, he swung him forcefully to the ground.
Before Zephyr Rivers could recover, Chris approached, his face devoid of mercy. He raised his fist and brought it down with crushing force on Zephyr Rivers’ head.
Bang!
Blood and bone splattered across the ground. Zephyr Rivers’ lifeless body lay still, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Chris stood over the corpse, sneering. “So this is Ethan Stone’s prized pupil? Pathetic.”
He glanced at the carnage around him. “I wonder how Ethan Stone will react when he hears about this?”
Dark Sin, overcome with rage and despair, screamed into the void, his voice echoing across the battlefield. “Chris! I’ll kill you!”
