Ava’s POV
Everything was a dream. How I wished it was real. I wanted to do everything I did in the dream with them for real. I wanted them to caress every part of my torso. I wanted them to hug and kiss me.
“Baby girl, Ava,” someone called out to me.
I snapped back to my senses when I heard Oliver call my name.
“Don’t tell me you’re thinking about them again?” she suspected.
“No, I’m not,” I fibbed to my best friend.
“Then, tell me. What are you thinking about? I’ve been dubbing your name, but you seem to be far away from here. Not until I screamed your name did you answer me.”
“I’m thinking about something else, sister,” was all I could say.
“Okay,” she said, her arms folded. “I won’t force you if you feel it would be better not to tell me what the problem is.”
“Thank you,” I smiled.
“We need to start dressing up for school. We don’t want to be late,” she announced before exiting the room.
As soon as Oliver left my room, I went inside the bathroom to saturate. We hurried with whatever we wanted to do, and we set out together to go to school.
Nothing was the same as before. It became quiet at school because no girls were drooling over any guy. I felt incomplete without them.
Where have they gone? I wished I knew more about them. It would be much easier for me to go find them.
I attended the class. I was only sitting, but I was far gone. My attention wasn’t focused on the teacher who was teaching us. Instead, I was wondering what happened between us. Why did they leave?
The teacher finally left the class, and it was time for lunch. Oliver sighed and confronted me. “What’s wrong with you again, Ava?”
“Nothing,” I answered back.
She raised her eyebrow. “Nothing? Are you sure?”
“Yes, I am.”
“Stop lying and keeping something to yourself. I’ve been asking what’s wrong, and you always say nothing’s wrong, but you never listened to the teacher teaching throughout the class. Why are you doing this to yourself? How many times do we have to talk about this?”
“Oliver, I’m fine. It’s just that everything feels surreal to me. Everything feels like a dream. Something inside me shook the first time I laid eyes on them. I was eager to learn more about them and talk to them. I was surprised when both of them approached me. I was overjoyed when they spoke to me, but when they mentioned mate, rejection, and other things, I felt a lot of pain stab in my heart. Everything was fine when they apologized, and we became friends. They even fought Lucas for me. They both called me their queen. They said they were mine, but what went wrong between us? They left without saying goodbye, so everything must be a dream,” I stated.
$he listened carefully to all my tirades. I lowered my head, tears welling up in the corner of my eye.
“I’m sorry. I just can’t control myself when it comes to them. I’m sorry, Oliver.”
“What are you sorry about? I understand you, Ava. I’m sorry I can’t help you. I tried tracking them, but everything feels like I don’t know. They just vanished like a bubble,” Oliver explained, sighing.
“It’s okay, Oliver. This is my aviation. Everything will be fine. I will be fine without them.”

Ethan’s POV
Why was everything not working out for us? Why did we not find a single clue despite the way we worked so hard?
My eyes were heavy due to my lack of sleep. We worked day and night, yet we found no single clue.
Damn it! Why was this happening to us? We missed her damn much. I wished she was here with us. We despised the fact that our father had so many enemies.
How was she doing? Was she eating well? Was she missing us as much as we were missing her? We wondered how she was. Was Lucas not bothering her?
It was our duty to protect her, but we failed to protect our pack, much less her. Shit! Everything was getting out of hand. Our Lycan’s kept nagging at us to go back and check on her, even if it was once.
We were scared. We couldn’t risk it. It could possibly lead to her demise since we didn’t know who was watching our every move. Everyone was a suspect because the spies were among us. They were lurking in the pack. We didn’t want them to know about her whereabouts or her being our mate. We must keep her safe until the end.
I hoped everything went according to plan. We hadn’t seen our gorgeous mate in over a month. We would make every effort to locate the spies among the pack.
