Ethan sat in his office, the weight of uncertainty pressing down on him. He couldn’t get hold of Ella, and the news about the accident had shaken him to his core. His thoughts were a chaotic mix of fear, guilt, and desperation. He stared at his phone, waiting for any update, unable to focus on anything else.
Victor, entered the room, sensing the tension. “Still nothing?” Victor asked quietly, leaning against the desk.
Ethan shook his head, rubbing his temples. “I need to know where she is, Victor. She’s in the hospital, but I don’t know which one. She could be hurt badly. And after everything, I just… I need to make sure she’s okay.”
Victor sighed. “I’ll find out. I have a few people who can dig around. But Ethan, you need to stay calm. You can’t do anything reckless.”
Ethan nodded, though his mind was far from calm. The tension between him and Ella had been unbearable, but knowing she was in danger now, especially after the accident, twisted his heart in ways he hadn’t expected. He couldn’t lose her again and not like this.
Suddenly, Ethan’s phone rang, breaking the silence. The hospital. His breath caught in his throat as he answered.
“Mr. Ethan?” came the voice of a nurse. “Grace has woken up.”
Ethan froze, his hand tightening around the phone. Grace. She had been in a coma for weeks after a serious accident, and every day without her was agony. “She’s awake?” Ethan asked, his voice barely a whisper.
“Yes, sir. She’s asking for you.”
Tears welled up in Ethan’s eyes as relief washed over him. He couldn’t believe it. “I’m on my way,” he managed to say before hanging up.
He turned to Victor, who was already on the phone, likely trying to track down Ella. Ethan’s emotions were all over the place relief for Grace, fear for Ella, anger for everything that had happened. “I need you to find out what caused Ella’s accident,” Ethan said, his voice steady but strained. “I don’t believe this was just random.”
Victor nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. “I’ll handle it. Go see Grace.”
Ethan gave him a grateful look before grabbing his keys and rushing out of the office. His heart was racing as he made his way to the hospital. Grace was his world, and knowing she was finally awake after all this time brought a flood of emotions he hadn’t prepared for.
Meanwhile, Tania sat in front of the TV in their luxurious living room, sipping wine when the news came on. The headline caught her attention: Woman Survives Horrific Car Crash, Suspected Sabotage Involved. Tania’s eyes widened as she saw images of the wreckage, smoke still rising from the site of the explosion. Her heart skipped a beat when they mentioned Crystal.
Crystal was dead.
“No… No way,” Tania muttered under her breath, her mind racing. She dropped the glass of wine, watching as it shattered across the floor. Panic surged through her as the news revealed that Ella had survived. Her chest tightened as disbelief turned into pure rage.
“How could she still be alive?” Tania screamed, her voice echoing through the empty room. She threw everything in sight, the sound of glass and porcelain shattering in her wake. It wasn’t supposed to be this way. Ella was supposed to be dead again and Crystal was supposed to ensure it.
Tania’s mind raced, panic setting in. If Ella survived, then Crystal had failed her, and everything was about to unravel. Her carefully constructed plan was falling apart, and she knew it was only a matter of time before Ethan found out everything.
“No!” Tania shrieked, kicking over a nearby chair in frustration. She couldn’t let this happen. She wouldn’t let this happen. But deep down, she knew she was running out of options.
At the hospital, Ethan arrived at Grace’s room, his heart pounding in his chest. He paused outside the door, trying to steady himself. He wiped his face quickly, not wanting Grace to see his tears.
When he finally stepped inside, he saw her his beautiful daughter blinking up at him from her hospital bed. Her face was pale, but her eyes… her eyes were bright, alive. She smiled weakly when she saw him.
“Daddy,” she whispered.
Ethan’s breath hitched as the dam of emotions he’d been holding back finally broke. Tears streamed down his face as he rushed to her bedside, taking her hand in his. “Grace,” he choked out. “Oh, my God, you’re awake.”
She smiled, her voice weak but clear. “I missed you, Daddy.”
Ethan leaned down and kissed her forehead, overcome with emotion. “I missed you too, sweetheart. So much.” He gently stroked her hair, his heart swelling with love and relief. After all the pain and uncertainty, Grace was finally back. It felt like a piece of his heart had been restored.
But even in this moment of happiness, Ethan couldn’t shake the dark cloud hanging over him the accident and Ella. He had to get to the bottom of it all, for everyone’s sake.
Back at Ethan’s office, Victor was deep into his investigation. It didn’t take long for him to find out the truth. Tania had been behind it all Crystal’s involvement, the attempt on Ella’s life, everything.
Victor called Ethan immediately, his voice grave. “Ethan, it was Tania. She’s the one who sent Crystal to kill Ella.”
Ethan felt his blood run cold. He had suspected Tania of many things, but hearing it confirmed was another matter entirely. Rage simmered beneath the surface as he clenched his jaw.
“I’m done,” Ethan said through gritted teeth. “I’m going to end this once and for all.”
Later that night, Ethan stormed into the house, his face set in a mask of fury. Tania, still reeling from her earlier breakdown, didn’t expect him to be back so soon.
“Ethan, what’s wrong?” she asked, her voice laced with false concern.
“I know everything,” Ethan spat, his voice low and dangerous. “I know you were the one who sent Crystal to kill Ella.”
Tania’s eyes widened, but she quickly composed herself, letting out a nervous laugh. “Ethan, darling, you must be mistaken. I had nothing to do with it”
“Stop lying!” Ethan roared, slamming his fist down on the table, causing Tania to jump. “I’m sick of your lies, your deceit, your manipulation. I’m done, Tania. I want a divorce.”
Tania’s face contorted in disbelief. She let out a hysterical laugh. “You’re joking, right? You think you can just leave me? You can’t abandon me!”
Ethan’s expression remained hard, unwavering. “Watch me.”
