When Ethan entered his bedroom, he was met with an unsettling sight Tania, draped in lingerie, sprawled seductively across their bed. Her lips curled into a sultry smile as she stretched her arms out towards him. “Come on, Ethan. It’s been too long.”
Ethan stared at her, a wave of disgust rolling through him. There was a time when he might have been drawn to her like this, but now? All he saw was betrayal, manipulation, and the chaos she had dragged them into.
“Tania, put some clothes on,” he said, his voice devoid of emotion as he turned away. “I’m exhausted, and I’m not in the mood.”
Her smile faded as she rose to her knees on the bed, her eyes blazing with frustration. “You’re not in the mood?” she echoed, incredulous. “You haven’t touched me in weeks! Is it because of her?” she spat, her voice dripping with venom.
Ethan clenched his jaw, refusing to take the bait. “I’m tired, Tania. We’ll talk about this some other time.”
“You think you can just walk away from me? After everything I’ve done for you, Ethan?” she hissed, her voice growing more desperate. “I’m your wife. I’m not going to be ignored!”
He turned to face her, his eyes cold. “You’re right, Tania. You are my wife. But that doesn’t mean I owe you anything especially after what I’ve learned.”
She blinked, her composure faltering for a moment. “What are you talking about?”
Ethan’s voice lowered, dangerous and steady. “I know about everything Tania, everything.”
Tania’s eyes widened, panic flickering across her face before she masked it with anger. “You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh, I know exactly what I’m talking about,” Ethan shot back, his voice harsh. “And it will soon be over, Tania. Whatever game you’ve been playing it will soon be over.”
Tania’s lips trembled as she stood there, her seductive facade crumbling. But before she could respond, Ethan turned his back on her once more, pulling the covers up and settling down into bed.
As she stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her, Ethan lay in the dark, his mind spinning with everything he had just uncovered. But amidst the turmoil, there was one thing he knew for sure he was done being played.
