A Morning of Reflection

It was a bright morning, sunlight streamed through the curtains, gently illuminating Ella’s kitchen. The smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as she quietly prepared breakfast. She stole a glance at the clock. Leo and Liam were still asleep, their small bodies exhausted from the constant moving. Ella sighed softly as she flipped a pancake, her mind wandering to the life she had envisioned for her children.
This wasn’t the life she had wanted for them constantly moving, always looking over their shoulders. The thought of them growing up in fear, always running, tugged at her heart. She wanted stability for them, a home where they could grow up safe and loved, free from the chaos she had been dragged into. But with Tania still out there, and the ever-present danger lurking, she knew she couldn’t let her guard down.
Her phone buzzed, breaking her from her thoughts. It was Derek.
“Derek, what’s going on?” she answered, concern seeping into her voice.
“I’ve got something you need to know, Ella,” Derek said. His tone was serious, and Ella braced herself. “Crystal’s not just an assassin she’s involved in human trafficking, black market gun and organ trade along with Tania.
Ella’s heart skipped a beat, and her grip tightened on the phone. Human trafficking, organ trade? She had known that Tania was dangerous, but this was a whole new level of evil.
“You need to be extra careful, especially with the twins,” Derek continued. “I made sure the private investigator Tania hired to dig into your life didn’t make it back to her awhile ago so for now, But don’t let your guard down.”
“Thanks, Derek. I owe you,” Ella replied, trying to keep her voice steady. But inside, a wave of dread washed over her. If Tania had people like Crystal in her circle, the situation was far worse than she had imagined.
As she ended the call, Ella stood in the kitchen, gripping the counter for support. She glanced toward the hallway where her boys still slept peacefully, unaware of the storm raging around them. Her mind raced, trying to piece together the next move, knowing she couldn’t afford any mistakes. Not with the twins’ lives at stake.
