Ella woke up the next morning with the sun streaming through her bedroom window, casting a warm glow across the room. But the light didn’t chase away the shadows in her mind. The confrontation with Ethan lingered like a haunting melody, echoing in her thoughts. She had expected anger, perhaps even a sense of satisfaction, but seeing him again had stirred something in her, something she had tried to bury beneath layers of revenge and resentment.
As she prepared breakfast for Leo and Liam, her twins buzzed around the kitchen, their laughter a sweet distraction.
They were the light in her life, but memories of Ethan’s face, the pain of his betrayal, and the weight of her plans pressed heavily on her heart. She had vowed to take revenge, but now she questioned whether that path would truly bring her peace.
“Mommy! Can we have pancakes today?” Liam asked, his big brown eyes sparkling with excitement.
“Of course, sweetie,” Ella replied, forcing a smile. She flipped the pancakes with practiced ease, all the while her mind racing with thoughts of the next phase of her revenge. She had to stay focused, but the image of Ethan’s shocked expression haunted her.
After breakfast, she decided to take the twins to the park. Fresh air and sunshine might clear her head. As they strolled through the park, she noticed families enjoying their time together, couples laughing, and children playing.
The normalcy of it all felt foreign to her. It was a stark reminder of the life she had lost and the family she had once dreamed of having with Ethan.
“Look, Mommy! Can we go on the swings?” Leo pointed excitedly.
“Sure my love, let’s go!” Ella said, her heart swelling with love as she pushed them on the swings. The joy on their faces was infectious, and for a brief moment, she forgot about her plans for revenge.
As she watched them play, her phone buzzed in her pocket. It was a message from Derek: We need to discuss the next steps. Meet me at the cafe in an hour.
Ella hesitated. The thought of meeting Derek, someone who had been part of her revenge plan, brought a sense of dread. But she knew she had to keep moving forward. She couldn’t let her emotions sway her from her goal.
“Boys, let’s head back to the car,” she called out, and they obediently ran towards her, their laughter ringing in her ears.
At the cafe, Ella arrived early and ordered a coffee, trying to calm her nerves. The scent of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, but it did little to soothe her racing heart. She fiddled with her phone, scrolling through social media, when she stumbled upon a news article that made her stomach drop: Local Businessman Ethan’s Life in Disarray as Ex-Wife Ella Returns from the dead
The article detailed her return, the twins, and hinted at the chaos that was about to unfold. It was clear that Tania had been busy, and Ella felt a surge of anger. Tania was playing a dangerous game, and Ella had to be careful.
Derek arrived, his expression serious. “Ella, I’ve been gathering intel on Ethan and Tania. They’re on high alert after your appearance at the school. Tania is desperate to maintain her grip on Ethan, and she’s not going to let you interfere.”
“Let her try,” Ella said, her voice steady. “I won’t back down. I’ve come too far to let her win.”
Derek leaned in closer, lowering his voice. “I understand your anger, but we need to be strategic.
Tania has connections, and she’s already reached out to people who can help her. If we don’t act quickly, she could turn the tide against you.”
Ella nodded, feeling the weight of his words. “What do you suggest?”
“We need to expose Tania for who she really is. If we can leak information about her past” we could choke up in a Conner for a while.
Ella’s mind raced. “I can do that. I have access to her digital accounts. I’ve been gathering information. But we need to be careful. I can’t afford to get caught.”
Derek smiled, a glint of admiration in his eyes. “I knew you were the right person for this. Let’s put our plan into action.”
As they discussed the details, Ella felt a renewed sense of purpose. She was no longer just a woman seeking revenge; she was a force to be reckoned with. But deep down, she couldn’t shake the feeling that the battle ahead would be more complicated than she had anticipated.
Later that evening, as she tucked the twins into bed, Ella’s heart ached with conflicting emotions. She wanted to protect them from the chaos that was brewing.
Meanwhile back at home Tania laughed seeing the news, happy to have stirred riot in Ella’s life. Finding out from her contact that Ella had children got her a little shocked because from what she knew Ella was having difficulty getting pregnant, Ella’s pregnancy was probably the good news she wanted to tell Ethan that day years ago Tania thought.
When Tania also found out that Ethan met the twins and that her child is friends with them she became angry, not to talk of the fact that Ella and Ethan meet already.
Why couldn’t she stay dead Tania thought, why did she have to come back and ruin what I’ve meticulously try to build for years she whispered and why did my daughter have to be friends with her bastards she said.
Ethan on seeing the new became very angry, he quickly drove home ready to confront Tania,’ Why would she do that he thought while driving’. Immediatetly after he parked his , he ran inside the house not caring about the slamming door. Throwing his room door open, ‘ what the hell is wrong with you? He screamed startling Tania who nearly fell from the bed. ‘what are you talking about she said stating her Ethan. ‘The news Ethan said’ ‘oh that she replied I just wanted to give Ella a little taste of her medicine she said. ‘ wow Ethan replied not recognizing the woman he married
‘ I have a question for you he said’, ‘ what Tania said’ why did you marry me? Ethan said. Staring at her husband Tania replied I love you that’s why, I’ve loved you since I first set my eyes on you but you only had your eyes set on my sister Ella she said. ‘ did you have anything to do with Ella disappearing years ago Ethan asks, ‘no she denies quickly her eyes not meeting Ethan’s’. ‘ok then Ethan said. ‘why is she threatening us then, why is Ella hell bent on destroying us if we’ve done nothing wrong ,
‘no Ethan said shaking his head I need to find out what is really happening he thought’ looking at Tania he said it hard to believe anything that comes out of your mouth, you lied about me being graces father, what else are you lying to me about Tania, Ethan questions. ‘ nothing I swear I’m not lying about anything, Grace is your daughter she said desperately wanting Ethan to believe her. Ethan shakes his head and walks out of the room. You’ll pay for this Ella, I’ll make sure you’ll wish you just disappeared forever Tania thought clenching her fist tightly.
