As the members of the Hall of Valerian faced a crushing defeat, Chris decided to deliver the final blow.
“Tiger, Phoenix, Lynx, full assault! We must not let anyone escape!”
he commanded.
“Yes!”
came the reply. At that command, Tiger, Phoenix, and Lynx each led a thousand Guards of Death into the fray. With their addition, the collapse of the Hall of Valerian accelerated.
Meanwhile, Chris also joined the battle. Bang! Bang! Bang! Several loud noises echoed as members of the Hall of Valerian fell dead by Chris’s hand. Suddenly, a dangerous premonition struck Chris. Without hesitation, he swiftly dodged to the side. Years of battlefield experience had honed his instincts for danger. Boom! A loud crash sounded as a steel blade swung towards where Chris had just been standing, striking the ground with such force that it split the earth.
Narrowing his eyes, Chris turned to look at the assailant. A figure in black, wielding a steel blade, stood before him.
“Are you one of Daniel Williams’s men?”
Chris quickly identified the stranger.
“Heh heh heh!”
Dark Sin cackled, “Primus indeed is Primus, seeing through my disguise in an instant. Yes, I am Dark Sin. Chris, today marks your end!”
Without another word, Dark Sin attacked Chris again.
Facing Dark Sin’s assault, Chris clenched his fists and met him head-on. Boom! Boom! Boom! The sounds of their clash were thunderous. Dark Sin’s strength had reached the peak of Transcendence, nearly touching Crescendence.
However, even with such formidable power, Dark Sin was no match for Chris. Bang! A resounding crash followed. Chris’s fist struck Dark Sin’s steel blade, snapping it in two with a crisp snap.
Seeing this, Dark Sin’s face paled! He hadn’t anticipated Chris’s overwhelming strength. Realizing a continued fight would lead to his own demise, Dark Sin fled without hesitation. Watching Dark Sin’s retreating figure, Chris squinted but did not pursue.
To Chris, Dark Sin was insignificant. The immediate priority was to annihilate all members of the Hall of Valerian and capture Ironheart Steer.
Gunfire erupted, and one by one, members of the Hall of Valerian fell in pools of blood. Then, from outside the camp, another group charged into the fray. Though this new force was small, numbering only twenty to thirty, each was a formidable fighter. Their arrival turned the tide further against the Hall of Valerian, who began to flee in disarray.
“Tiger!”
shouted, “Boss, it’s the Cinder Society!”
“Cinder Society?”
Chris looked puzzled. He recalled encountering Seraphina, captain of the Cinder Society, previously in the Kingdom of Babylon. Unexpectedly, Seraphina had brought her people to the battle, which was beyond Chris’s expectations. With the Cinder Society’s support, the Hall of Valerian’s resistance crumbled even faster.
Half an hour later, the remaining members of the Hall of Valerian began to surrender.
Because they knew that if they didn’t surrender, death awaited them!
“Mr. Steer, it’s no good, Chris is too strong, I’m no match for him!”
“The people from Cinder Society are also attacking, we can’t hold them off, we must retreat now!”
Ironheart Steer’s face was filled with reluctance.
However, he knew that the situation was already beyond salvage.
“Let’s go!”
Ironheart Steer gritted his teeth, leading Dark Sin and some confidants to escape.
After the battle ended, they began to clear the battlefield.
“Boss, we didn’t find any trace of Ironheart Steer and his people, it seems Ironheart Steer has already fled,” Tiger reported to Chris with a look of guilt.
Originally, the mission was to capture Ironheart Steer alive.
Unexpectedly, Ironheart Steer, cunning as ever, had escaped again!
Chris responded indifferently, “No matter! Although we didn’t catch Ironheart Steer, we at least eliminated fifty thousand members of the Hall of Valerian, which is a heavy blow to Daniel Williams. Even if Ironheart Steer has escaped, it doesn’t matter much.”
Chris had never considered Ironheart Steer a serious threat.
If it weren’t for Ironheart Steer siding with Daniel Williams, his own strength would have been negligible.
“Mr. Shelby, the battle is over, my mission is complete. According to the plan, I am ready to lead my people back home,” Seraphina said, dressed in camo combat gear.
Chris smiled at Seraphina and thanked her, “Seraphina, thanks for your help this time.”
“It’s nothing, I was just following Master William’s orders! Mr. Shelby, see you back home next time!”
With those words, Seraphina and the members of Cinder Society departed.
Chris did not try to retain them. After all, Seraphina was here on a mission, and now that it was completed, it was natural for her to return.
…
In the kingdom of Babylon.
Inside a luxurious villa estate.
“Damn it! This is terrible!”
“Fifty thousand members of the Hall of Valerian gone just like that, how am I going to explain this to the prince?”
“It’s all because of Chris and Seraphina; if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have suffered such a disastrous defeat!”
Ironheart Steer’s face was extremely grim.
This time, he had led fifty thousand members of the Hall of Valerian to kill Chris.
However, not only did Chris survive, his own forces were utterly annihilated.
Had he not decided to flee decisively, he might have been the one to die.
“Ironheart Steer, what use is there in saying these things now? You should think about how you’re going to apologize to the prince!”
an elder sitting on a sofa said.
Thump!
Without hesitation, Ironheart Steer knelt down and pleaded, “Abbot Ethan, you must save me!”
The elder was none other than Amerosia Abbot – Ethan Stone!
Ethan Stone had come to Babylon to support Ironheart Steer.
He hadn’t expected Ironheart Steer to be defeated so swiftly; by the time he arrived, Ironheart Steer was already a beaten dog.
“Hmph!”
Ethan Stone snorted coldly, “If the prince didn’t still need you, you would already be dead! Get up, I’ve already thought of a way to deal with Chris.”
