Before long, the air in front of him surged wildly, churning like a storm, and the surrounding sinister energy rose again.
Next, a phantom appeared within his sight.
It stood five or six meters tall, holding a pitch-black spear, baring its teeth with a ferocious expression, surrounded by an aura of darkness.
Billy couldn’t gauge the opponent’s strength but had a vague feeling that it wasn’t weak.
The next moment, the Phantom Colossus charged at Billy with its spear, creating a wave of energy that tore through the void.
Billy’s eyes narrowed slightly as he drew his blade to meet the attack.
When their attacks collided, Billy was sent flying back five or six kilometers, his expression changing slightly.
He was now at the second-rank Controlled Kun Realm. Even without using his bloodline power, a casual strike from him should be able to contend with a sixth-rank Controlled Kun Realm.
Yet he was pushed back so far, clearly underestimating his opponent.
The Phantom Colossus didn’t pause and attacked again, gripping its spear with both hands and charging at Billy at high speed.
“Let’s see how strong you really are!” Billy said as he activated his bloodline power and slashed out with his blade.
After a loud clash, both were sent flying back several kilometers, appearing evenly matched.
In other words, the opponent was at least at the ninth-rank Controlled Kun Realm.
The Phantom Colossus let out two strange cries and continued its assault, its sinister aura rising continuously.
However, this time, Billy didn’t engage head-on.
Just as the opponent was halfway through its charge, a dark shadow shot out from Billy-it was the Dark Puppet!
The previous ghosts on the road were too low-level, so he hadn’t summoned the Dark Puppet. Although this one wasn’t at the Mystic Kun Realm, it was still a decent supplement and shouldn’t be wasted.
Sensing some sort of crisis from the Dark Puppet, the Phantom Colossus turned to flee but was absorbed into the Dark Puppet’s body after only a few steps.
Billy then stored the Dark Puppet in his storage ring and continued forward.
After walking for about another hour, Billy looked ahead and couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise.
In front of him to the right was a group of palaces, numbering around twenty. However, they were all in ruins, with broken walls and overgrown weeds, looking very desolate.
What surprised Billy was that there was a woman standing on the ruins of one of the palaces.
She wasn’t a phantom but a real person!
She appeared to be around twenty-four or twenty-five years old, tall and curvaceous, with long hair covering half of her face. Her skin was fair and delicate.
The woman frowned slightly, showing a hint of helplessness on her face.
Billy released his spiritual power to probe but found nothing; she had clearly hidden her aura.
At the same time, Billy could feel her spiritual power scanning him.
However, with his current strength, hiding the Nine Dragons Cauldron was no longer difficult, so she wouldn’t find anything.
“Hello, miss!” Billy called out. “Are you from here? Can I ask you something?”
After a long pause, the woman glanced at him but didn’t respond.
“Miss, can you understand me?” Billy asked again.
This time, she didn’t even bother to look at him, continuing to frown and stare ahead.
“Miss…” Billy began again.
Before he could finish two words, she twisted her gaze and a sharp sword appeared in her hand, flashing towards him with a sword force.
As her aura rose, Billy managed to gauge her cultivation level.
She was strong-first-rank Mystic Kun Realm!
Billy raised his blade to block. After a loud clash, he was sent flying four or five kilometers back but remained uninjured!
Since tempering his body in the Black Dragon’s Dragon Saliva Pool last time, his defense had improved significantly.
With his current physical resilience, even if he stood still and let her attack with full force, he wouldn’t be harmed at all.
Not just early Mystic Kun Realm; even late Mystic Kun Realm might not injure him!
“Hmm?” Seeing Billy unscathed, the woman’s expression changed.
She had assessed Billy’s cultivation as second-rank Controlled Kun Realm and thought one strike would obliterate him. Yet he wasn’t hurt at all!
Perhaps wanting to confirm his defense again, she paused briefly before attacking once more.
This time she didn’t hold back. A full-powered sword strike tore through the void towards Billy.
Facing her full-force attack, Billy still didn’t use any trump cards. He casually swung his blade to meet it.
After another loud clash, Billy was sent flying back over ten kilometers.
“Sorry to disturb you!” Billy wiped the blood from his mouth and flew away.
He hadn’t used his trump cards because he didn’t sense any killing intent from her and didn’t want to waste time here.
“Stop!” she called out just as he turned away.
“What is it?” Billy stopped and asked.
“What are you doing in Deadland?” The woman named Janelle Pearson asked.
“I’m looking for someone,” Billy replied.
Though finding someone wasn’t his main goal in Deadland, he couldn’t just tell her he was treasure hunting!
“Who are you looking for?” Janelle Pearson pressed on.
“Have you seen these two people?” Billy asked as he waved his hand, projecting images of two elderly men in front of them.
“You’re looking for the Ancestors of Ancestral Grounds and Grand Hall?” Janelle Pearson asked again.
“Have you seen them?” Billy’s eyes lit up.
He hadn’t expected to randomly encounter someone who had actually seen them-what luck!
“Are you from Ancestral Grounds or Grand Hall?” Janelle Pearson scrutinized him closely.
“I’m not from either faction,” Billy shook his head. “I’m here on someone’s behalf…”
“How did you get here?” Janelle Pearson interrupted. “How did you pass through those death energies? Do you have some treasure on you? Show it to me!”
“Since you don’t want to tell me anything, I won’t bother you further. Goodbye!” Billy cupped his hands and turned to leave.
“You can’t go anywhere without my permission!” Janelle Pearson snorted.
As she spoke, a sword force tore through the void towards him.
Billy frowned slightly and quickly dodged her attack.
He then looked at her and said, “Miss, I have limited patience. You’d better…”
Before he could finish speaking, Janelle Pearson attacked again with a flash of her sword force.
This time, Billy didn’t retreat. He activated his bloodline power and unleashed a Slaughter Sky slash that tore through the void.
Their attacks collided again, sending both flying back several kilometers.
From their conditions, it was clear that Janelle Pearson was slightly inferior; blood trickled from her mouth.
She hadn’t taken Billy seriously before and had only used eighty or ninety percent of her strength. Naturally, she couldn’t withstand a full-powered Slaughter Sky slash.
Steadying herself, she looked extremely surprised-Billy’s combat power had clearly shocked her.
Billy didn’t stop; he flashed forward again with overwhelming blade force.
Janelle Pearson’s pupils contracted instantly as she hurriedly raised her sword to block.
However, because she was caught off guard, she was sent flying eight or nine kilometers after another loud clash.
She spat blood into the air, her expression even more shocked than before.
“This is my last warning: if you attack again, you’ll die!” Billy said before turning to leave.
“I know where they are!” Janelle Pearson called out.
