“Once again, the Harrison family is making a big splash,” Hannah muttered grumpily.
She put her phone down on the sofa and looked at Alden, who was sitting facing the backyard. Even Alden didn’t show any expression, no emotion, sadness, or happiness, nothing at all… so now Hannah clueless what the man was feeling.
“Why does that sound so negative?” Hannah sighed quietly.
“All news always has positive and negative sides, but being the center of attention is the key, Hannah.”
“Are you saying by doing this, sir?”
“Everything. Because that is how people will notice you.”
Hannah pursed her lips. She really hated reading the news, as if Hannah was an insensitive woman, when her father had just died, she showed affection in public. So what should Hannah do? Would crying and puffy eyes look better?
“I don’t know, sir,” Hannah shrugged.
“Don’t worry about it. Now you need to go to Texco because Mr. Gulfman is going to announce who the real owner of the company is.”
“Yes, that’s you,” Hannah replied, still looking annoyed.
“No. It’s your company that I gave you.”
“That doesn’t make sense.”
“Because I want everyone to see you, Hannah.”
“But sir…”
Hannah knew she was just a tool for Alden to take back the business world. To elevate the Harrison name by presenting Hannah as a woman with a bad fate who became a great woman.
Of course, that would be a plus for the Harrison family.
The Harrison family would be known as a family that doesn’t look at social status, but gets a diamond like Hannah who is faithful and can’t be underestimated. It’s a slap in the face to the upper class who always underrate those below them.
Being known as the Harrison family will certainly attract the attention of many upper class circles. They will think about re-establishing business ventures, partnerships, and so on with Alden Harrison. And Hannah’s role as an icon would make people in the middle class and below love her.
Alden is not only smart, he seems to be able to read people’s minds.
“Get ready quickly, today is your day,” Alden concluded.
“What if I act inappropriately in your company?”
“It is your company. You determine its course, whether it advances or fails.” Alden turned and looked at Hannah. “I want the company to prosper more, that’s your job.”
“Oh my God!”
“I’m counting on you.”
Hannah stood up and let out a long sigh. “All right.”
Alden chuckled softly. “That’s it.”
“I promised not to let you down. And that’s what I’m going to do.”
“That’s the spirit,” Alden nodded. He cleared his throat quietly. “Oh, Hannah?”
“Yes, sir?”
“After Mr. Gulfman introduces you as the owner, hurry up and leave the office. Buy some decent clothes; I’ve already arranged a card for you.”
Hannah blinked, still not understanding Alden’s intention.
“Clothes?”
“For work. You need to look good and presentable, don’t give people a reason to criticize you. Understand?” Alden replied.
“Okay, sir.”
“Off you go.”
Hannah got another surprise when she entered the house and a maid handed her a bag of new clothes for the office. A shirt, blazer and white ivory pants, with elegant high heeled shoes. Alden had arranged everything perfectly.
Hannah’s heart pounded with excitement and disbelief.
Hannah was like Cinderella, even if her job now wasn’t to clean the house, feed the animals, or sit in front of the fireplace for hours on end.
Now Hannah became the Cinderella who would manage and run a large company called Texco, with Alden as her fairy godfather.

Hannah entered her office to find Bernard and Susan waiting for her. Bernard’s charming smile lit up as soon as he saw Hannah, who looked elegant and very beautiful. Even Susan, who always seemed cold, smiled and gave a thumbs up behind Bernard’s figure.
“I told Mr. Harrison he didn’t make a mistake in choosing you to be his wife, ma’am,” Bernard said, not even greeting Hannah, but immediately praising her openly.
“I hope I don’t disappoint him. I ask for your help, Sir Gulfman, and of course, Susan.” Hannah glanced at Susan briefly. “If you don’t mind.”
“We’re here to help you,” Bernard nodded diplomatically.
Bernard immediately motioned for Susan to bring the files to the table, and Susan complied with an obedient nod. Susan hurried out of Bernard’s former office, which was now officially Hannah’s place.
“Where’s your office, sir?” Hannah asked.
“Two floors down, just as well. I can even get down to the ground floor faster,” the man replied jokingly. “Come, we have a meeting to attend. I can’t wait to introduce you as the owner of Texco, ma’am.”
They both went down to the meeting room, and as they chatted, Hannah began to understand the situation at Texco. She could even answer Bernard’s questions, which Hannah hadn’t understood at all before. They walked into the meeting room, and once again Bernard asked Hannah to relax.
Suddenly there was a shout from the side and Hannah and Bernard stopped.
“You bitch!!” The voice was clearly Aspen’s.
Hannah saw Aspen half run towards them, then felt a hard slap on her cheek and instantly felt the heat spreading. Hannah’s eyes widened, not expecting Aspen to be so rough.
Then ‘Slap!’ Hannah retaliated with an even harder slap.
“Stop it! What’s going on?” Bernard intervened, immediately blocking Hannah’s body.
“You are an ungrateful woman! How dare you spy on my husband and even become a stalker! Can’t you move on? Jeffrey doesn’t love you!” Aspen yelled.
“Ma’am?” Bernard looked at Hannah.
Jeffrey came out of the visitors’ waiting room and approached with a pale face. Because Jeffrey saw that Bernard was there, and causing trouble in front of the company’s leader would have fatal consequences.
“Aspen, stop!” Jeffrey grabbed Aspen’s arm. “Quick, apologize.”
“Apologize? For what?” Aspen glared at her husband.
“Mr. Gulfman is the owner of this company, don’t make a scene,” Jeffrey pleaded.
“Oh, I see.” Aspen looked arrogant for a moment. “I’m sorry, Mr. Gulfman. But this woman is a troublemaker. She never stops hoping for my husband, even though she’s been dumped!”
Bernard glanced at Hannah briefly. “Mrs. Harrison? But she’s already married to Mr. Alden Harrison. You may be mistaken.”
“I’m not mistaken!” Aspen insisted. “You should throw her out of here!”
“Do you know who Mrs. Harrison is, ma’am? Who she really is?” Bernard asked.
