Chapter 59
IN THE STRIP CLUB,
“Kneel,” Klaus’s commanding voice echoed through, sharp and swift.
Eva’s confused and furious, but she eventually knelt before him, clenching her fists in anger.
“Now, tell me, Princess. What were you talking about earlier?”
They were almost at eye level now and as Eva stared at him, she suddenly and this great urge to smack him across the face.
Ever so often, she would stare towards the entrance, hoping someone might burst in.. perhaps her father’s men.
No way was she about to let Angelo have his way in here. Either to save him or to save his bitch.
She took a deep breath and then said, “I was talking about Angela. You both had a thing in the past and…”
“Well, I had a thing with more than a dozen girls, Eva. Can you be more blunt and go straight to the fucking point!?”
Eva held her composure, “and she took a deep breath, “Perhaps you did. But none of them actually bore you a child.”
Silence.
It was like a pin dropped in the room. But it also seemed a bit chilly immediately, as Klaus’s expression turned murderous.
“What did you say!?”
Eva was glad. But she made sure she didn’t reveal it yet. She raised her chin and repeated, “Angela bore you a child. A son. And unless you want your entire lineage to die, and your next generation void, I’d suggest you let me go right now. You wanna torture Angelo, right? You can start from…. ugh….”
Strong arms suddenly gripped her neck, clutching, and almost cutting off her air supply.
“You will not talk to me that way, chica,” he growled, “I am Not your foster brother, and you should keep in mind that I am definitely not a fool to believe your desperate lies..”
Eva’s eyes were wide as he kept tightening his hold on her neck. His eyes were getting watery and she could only grunt in pain.
Eventually, he let go of her neck, pushing her away from him, and he rested back on the couch, “You seem to have forgotten the rules of the Mafia world, even as a princess yourself. I do not give a damn if there is a bastard child somewhere. I will kill him with my bare hands!”
Eva was staring at him with hooded eyes, unable to believe that she was actually failing.
“Really?” She gasped out, “You don’t believe me? You don’t care about your blood? Then fine, I can do to him whatever I please and you would never get to see him..”
She was breathing heavily, as she tried to regulate herself. Klaus’ jaw ticked at her words, but he simply grabbed his glass of wine and took a sip of it.
“I am not trying to blackmail you. I am trying to help you. To achieve a common goal…”
“And what might that be?” Klaus asked.
Eva opened her mouth and then closed it again. He wanted Angelo. The whole point of this kidnap and all was to get Angelo.
But she, Eva, only wanted Elena out of the way. She knew Klaus would be so eager to torture her, just to spite Angelo, but she also knew that it all boils down to Angelo being his priority.
“Your son is alive,” she interjected, “But barely hanging on because… because he is under my watch. I took him from his mother not too long ago. He’s sick. And if you do not let me go right now, you can say goodbye to your father’s lineage!”
“Leave me here and you would never see your son again, and obviously, your baby mama would never reach out to you for help. I bet she didn’t even inform you she had a child for you.”
For a moment, Klaus was still, glaring at her with narrowed eyes. It made him wonder if she was indeed telling the truth.
A child?
A child is an unwelcome distraction, especially when it comes down to what he does.
This right here was a testament to what the future holds for a man of his caliber with a child.
He scoffed, trying to hide the confusion in his gaze, “Obviously you are desperately looking for a way to get out of this situation. Princess. A getaway I would never grant to you! You think I would believe you?”
Eva gasped in shock, glaring at him with hate. Why can’t this god-forsaken man understand what she was trying so hard to tell him? Doesn’t he realize that she was only trying to help him this way?
“Even if you are telling the truth.. what made you think I would sacrifice whatever I have going on right now just for a bastard child!?”
He was raising his voice now, as he suddenly sat up straighter. His eyes caught movement by the door, amd his brows furrowed. With his gun in his hands, he beckoned on his men standing by the door.
“What is taking so long to bring the girl in here?” He asked, as they entered the room.
But they simply shook their head. “Go get….”
Klaus was unable to complete his words when they heard a thud.
“Boss…” It was the driver. He was panting heavily, as he had fallen while clutching at his arms and legs dripping blood.
Everyone was suddenly on alert as they brought out their guns and pointed to the entrance.
In no time, Klaus’ men had covered him as they stood, backing him as they pointed their guns at the entrance.
His gaze was on the man on the floor who was coughing out blood.
“What the fuck happened?” He bellowed, with wide eyes.
“.. gang… it’s them… they took.. they took her.” He stuttered out as he kept coughing out blood from his mouth.
“What!”
“They.. took the girl, Boss. They said…”
Eva’s eyes widened upon hearing that, as she swiveled from her position to stare closely at the man speaking.
“What the fuck are you talking about?” Klaus asked, his temper rising.
The man on the floor was gasping, slowly losing consciousness, but Klaus moved to him and grabbed a hold of his shirt, while he pointed his gun to his forehead.
“Would you speak now, or let me pull out the words from you?”
“It’s.. them,” his eyes began to flutter close, and he released another batch of blood from his mouth, almost spilling on Klaus.
“Marino’s gang… they took her.”
And with that, he went into a fit of coughs and eventually stopped moving.
