Chapter 29

Book:Resisting The Dangerous Mafia Lord Published:2024-12-6

Angelo;
She was literally trembling like a leaf in my arms as I held her tightly.
The tattoo on the motherfucker’s arm was a confirmation of what I already knew. He was definitely a part of Mario’s gang.
But still, I was so curious to know what part Elena had played in this. And how exactly she made it possible.
But few hours later, and she still wasn’t speaking.
Agitated, I pulled her out and locked her In an empty room, after making sure I drill a hole into the motherfucker’s head.
Tugging at the buttons of my shirt as i made my way into my office, my hands grabbed a hold of a vase on my desk, and in a fluid motion, I flung it to the wall and watched it shatter to pieces.
“This doesn’t fucking make sense!” I yelled out, turning to meet the gazes of Xavier and Dominic who stood at the door post.
I shook my head, as I let my hand run through my hair, “Explain to me why she would kill Mario, and the next moment she’s teaming up with them?”
Xavier placed a bottle of wine beside me on the desk and filled it up.
Feeling riled up, I took a huge sip, hoping it would maybe alleviate the restlessness I felt at the moment.
“Why the hell would she do that?” I placed back the glass on the table, “It doesn’t fucking make sense.”
“We got a hold of the footage, and Mario was actually forcing himself on her. She did that out of pure defense.” Dominic said, coming over to show the footage to me.
“Yeah, I get that we might have crossed a line and they are obviously fucking pissed. But that doesn’t explain why she would team up with them?” I huffed, shaking my head, “If anything, she should be on their first target list.”
All these were making me mad and frustrated. I wanted so badly to believe she was innocent in all this, then maybe I wouldn’t have to torture her. I do not leave traitors alive. I never do.
They are like rotten flesh, which if not taken away, might contaminate the rest.
The reason her father got away was because she was a means of his collateral.
“Any update on Angela, yet?” I asked, fixing my gaze on Xavier. I had entrusted him with the task of tracking that bitch, after the phone call in the club the other day.
She thinks she must have succeeded in screwing with me, but I don’t spare any snitches around me.
Ever.
“No traces of her everywhere. I think she must have left the country.” He replied, huffing.
“About the girl,” he hesitated, and then continued, “I don’t think it is a good idea to keep her around.”
“We still do not know who and how long she had been in contact with. Or what information they have about us.”
I suddenly thought about the documents in the room earlier. If anyone had gotten a hold of those documents, then it might be a huge problem for us later on.
One which I definitely can’t risk.
I pulled myself from where I stood and made my way out of the office, heading towards the room where I had kept her.
It’s fucking time to stop being nice.
******
The moment Angelo stepped out of the room, Xavier made to walk out as well, alongside Dominic, his right hand men.
But the moment his hand touched the door, Dominic held back his arm, stopping him in his tracks.
“Is something wrong?” Xavier asked, and Dominic’s face tightened.
“You should tell me, Xavier. What exactly do you think you are doing?”
“What the hell are you talking about?” He asked, raising his brows, as he stared at Dominic confusedly.
Dominic took his hands off his shoulders, and shook his head for a while, contemplating if what he was about to say was necessary.
He wanted to believe he was wrong, that Xavier wouldn’t do anything of the sort, but the evidence and proof he had gathered was enough to let him know that he needed to act. And fast.
“Framing Elena for a crime she didn’t commit.. that was low, Xavier, and I wasn’t expecting it from you at all.”
“Elena?” Xavier huffed. “Since when did you call that slut by her name?”
Dominic’s eyes shot up sharply, and he felt his fingers clench in his fists, “You do not have to call her that. You know she isn’t a slut. She was brought here because…”
“Of course, I know why she is here,” Xavier cut him short, feeling agitated, “What’s going on? What’s with all the questioning? And what do you mean I framed her?”
Dominic hesitated for a moment before he spoke.
“You shouldn’t have done that, Xavier. You shouldn’t have snitched on the boss and tried to frame the girl for it.”
“What do you..? Snitch? What are you talking about?”
Dominic placed a hand in his pockets and brought out a cell phone, brandishing it in the air so he could take a good look at it.
“Where did you get that?” Xavier’s eyes widened as he stared at the phone. He felt his pockets as well, like he was searching for something, but couldn’t find it
And then, Dominic switched it on, and in less than a minute, a voice recording was heard.
It was Xavier’s voice, speaking in a different language. Italian.
“You have been in contact with Mario’s gang, and this is a recording of you making a deal with them. Not just once, but numerous times. Even before she came into the picture.”
Xavier’s eyes felt like they were about to pop out of their sockets, even as he tried to compose himself. He was so shocked as to how Dominic had gotten a hold of his cell phone, which he was dam sure he had kept with him at all times.
His nose flared, as he kept glancing at the door.
“I do not know what you are talking about, man,” he stretched his hand to take the phone from him, “that was simply something else. You wouldn’t understand. The fact that I was speaking Italian doesn’t necessarily mean I was siding with them. You should get your facts rights before accusing.”
Dominic huffed, “Well, it seems you are forgetting that I speak and understand Italian as well. I could hear basically everything you spoke about. Unless you want me repeating them to the Boss..?”
Xavier’s lips thinned and his brows creased, as he regarded Dominic with an annoyed expression.
“I just have one question though,” Dominic continued, “Why her? Why do you choose to use her as bait for your deeds? Plus, you know Angelo would not take kindly to this when he finds out about it, but what has Elena really done, that you want her gone? Cause, we both know it is only a matter of time before Angelo gets rid of her.”
He hesitated for a moment, and then added, “And I wont just sit by and let that happen,” he raised the phone up for effect, “you need to come clean. Or I might do it for you…..”
