Elena;
“It’s rude to barge into a lady’s room!” I yelled at him, as I felt my back hit the wall.
He stood still for a moment, regarding me with an irritated look. The corner of his lips curled up in a smirk, “Your room?” He sneered mockingly, the veins on his forehead popping, as he spoke, “You think because you are his whore, you have a right to claim a footing in this place? Who the fuck do you think you are, slut!!”
I gasped, blinking rapidly, as his words sank in.
“Slut? Whore?” I straightened up from the wall I was backed on, feeling the urge to tear up, but I wasn’t letting this motherfucker get on my skin for even a moment.
Suddenly, I wasn’t so scared of him anymore. I didn’t care what he might do to me afterward, but not giving him a taste of my mind, would leave me feeling shitty with myself after all, “Do you have a problem with me, fuck face?”
He was just five steps before me, and I watched him slowly begin to take a step towards me. I didn’t flinch, cower, or back down. I let him come closer until he was standing mere inches before me, glaring at me straight in the eye.
It was moments like this I was thankful for my height. He was just a little bit taller than me, and I didn’t have to raise my neck to stare up at him.
This way, I get to stare straight back at him.
“Yes I do,” he responded through gritted teeth, “I have a huge problem with you whore, but it is a good thing you aren’t dealing with me. It’s fantastic you are dealing with the devil himself,” he scoffed, “Let’s see how long you last in here. It isn’t the first time he does this, you know? The least that could happen to you is your frail little body being torn apart from within.”
I creased my brows, as I kept staring at him, trying to understand what nonsense he was sprouting.
And then his hands went up to my neck, catching me off guard, as he clutched it so hard, “This is a friendly warning from me to you. The next time you find yourself in a situation where a rival of ours takes you against your will. You better pray they kill you on the spot. Because I wouldn’t have you endangering the lives of my colleagues and our boss!!”
I breathed through my mouth, as I raised my hand, trying to wrench his hands away from me.
I couldn’t speak, as he was cutting off my air supply.
“Is that fucking clear?” He growled, his voice filled with rage and anger.
His hands were tight on me, and there was only so little I could do to let him free me.
“I asked a question. Is that fucking clear, slut!?”
At that moment, the door burst open, and Angelo’s voice echoed in the room, “What the fuck is going on here?”
Xavier released my neck rather abruptly, and I doubled over, hastily holding my neck, as coughs erupted from my throat.
“She was snooping around,” I heard him say to Angelo and my eyes widened.
I straightened up sharply, “What?” I croaked out.
“What do you mean, snooping?” Angelo asked in a tight voice, as he kept his gaze fixed on me.
Xavier turned to me, and I could see a hint of a smile playing on his lips.
Seriously, what’s this guy’s problem with me?
“I just caught her..”
“Leave us, Xavier.”
Thank fucking goodness. Angelo’s gaze on me didn’t falter, as he relayed the command, cutting him off his words.
And I was so fucking glad when the smirk on Xavier’s face fell.
“Boss…” He made to speak, again, but one look from Angelo got him to take a deep breath and he nodded.
Taking one last glance at me, he made his way out of the room, silently closing the door behind him.
I released a deep breath just as the door closed. Angelo stood still where he was, just close to the door. Staring at me, but I couldn’t bring myself to look into his eyes.
The air was thick with silence, as I was suddenly tongue-tied, not knowing what to say.
“Come here,” his deep voice ordered all of a sudden, causing me to flinch at the abruptness.
I managed to look up at him, and his cold gaze penetrated me, making the room suddenly feel chilly.
“I wasn’t snooping.” I blurted out, feeling the urge to defend myself.
Why was he pissed? Did he know?
I was tempted to confront him on how the hell he had a picture of me. But that would give me away. Besides, that would also be contradicting the words I had just spoken in defense.
My feet were rooted to the ground, unable to move, as per his request.
I shouldn’t be scared. After all, it wasn’t like I had done anything wrong.
I clenched my fists, feeling rage build up in me. And then, I was taking a few steps toward him.
His eyes didn’t waver. Still dangerously cold as ever, but I was getting resistant to it already. Not like it ever worked on me, anyway.
Stopping right in front of him, I clenched my jaw, and gritted out. “You should put a leash on your men, Angelo. I won’t have them coming in here and calling me a slut, just because you made me your plaything!”
I huffed, shaking my head, “You know what, I think it’s high time we settle whatever we have between us. Angelo. As adults. I never owed you anything. I never made a fucking deal with you! And you definitely had no right to strip me of my life and everything I hold dear to me! You have no right to lay a claim to me because I am not yours. I am my own woman, and I really do not want to have anything to do with you any longer!” I spoke, all in a breath.
My chest was heaving by now. And he was strangely quiet. Wearing a dis-interested look.
“Did you… did you hear what I just said?” I asked him.
“I wasn’t deaf, Elena,” he replied, “your guts are what amazes me.”
I scrunched my brows, displeased that it was all he had to say after the long rant I just did.
“What do you mean?” I asked him.
His eyes narrowed, and he tilted his head to the right, “Have I ever told you I hate it when someone touches my stuff?”
“Your stuff?” I chuckled, “I didn’t..”
I turned sharply, following his gaze and a shocked gasp escaped my lips when I saw the contents of the stuff on the ground.
“Now, what were you saying, Elena?” I heard the cork of a gun, and my body momentarily froze.
Turning slowly to face him, a sharp breath escaped my lungs when I saw him pointing a gun at me with a dangerous glint in his eyes.
