Klaus;
The door burst open at that moment. I didn’t wait to be fucking told, I aimed at the intruder, even before turning to get a good look at him.
The girl had just missed a bullet… thank her gods, but I definitely would be coming back to her later.
Sure enough, bullets fired back at me, and I swiftly turned, smirking, as I realized it was indeed my brother.
He stood with his men, standing at his side, pointing their guns at my men, who stood at the other side of the room. While Angelo pointed one at me.
The scenario looked so comical, with a little touch of nostalgia.
An hour later, half of my men were lying dead on the ground, with just a few of Angelo’s. And I was beyond pissed.
A low blow, but I couldn’t show my dissatisfaction.
“Long time no see, brother,” I smirked at him, watching as his eyes darted to the girl beside me.
Thankfully she had been knocked out, still tied to the chair, and I would love to see him try to come get her.
That look in his eyes was one I had never seen in Angelo’s before… Well, aside from the time, long ago, when he was pathetically crying over his mama.
“I won’t say this twice, Klaus,” he earned, and I chuckled, raising a brow, “Ler. Her. Go!”
Chuckling, I replied, “Why don’t you come get her? You think I am a fool, don’t you? Or do you think I would pass up an opportunity to get rid of her?”
I walked backward, going around her, until I was crouching beside her, with my gun pointed at her succulent neck, “What if I kill her, right now? What if I end her, just like you did to father and my mother.”
I brushed a strand of her hair to the side, my fingers on the trigger, as I felt the urge to pull. I badly wanted to see the look on his face when I finally did that. When I finally make him break. I could see this one affects him already, but I need to weigh the cards carefully.
Angelo smirked, and chuckled, “I am pretty sure you do not wanna go down that lane, brother. Don’t you dare!”
He took another step, and I pressed the gun to her neck, my fingers, mere inches from the trigger, “One more step, brother. One more step and she’s gone. ”
He paused in his strides, “Why not let her go, and we settle this like the respected Mafia Lords that we are?”
A rumble of laughter escaped my chest, “Not happening, brother. That’s not how I roll, and you know it. We have a long feud to settle, and she will not be enough to make up for it.”
Something whizzed past me, and I turned at the last minute, tilting my head to the side.
A shot was heard and as I turned, I could see that a bullet had pierced through the wall.
In a sharp fluid motion, I clutched at the girl’s neck tighter, pressing my gun to her, as I stared at Angelo who now stood a distance before me.
I narrowed my eyes at him, “You dare me, brother. Now you have to face the repercussions.”
At that exact moment, I heard a sharp gasp. And I smirked.
“Oh, she is awake. This would make it more fun.”
What happened next still left me confused. Loud gunshots were heard out the door again, distracting me.
She was writhing in my arms, and at the same time, my eyes caught the slightest movement of Angelo’s hand on his trigger.
I could’ve let him take the shot, so I pulled first.
But a sharp pain reverberated in my body… My hand specifically, and the gun fell off my hands. Not before I pulled the trigger.
I heard her scream, indicating I hadn’t missed my target.
A look of utter fury and fear flashed in Angelo’s eyes, as his gaze settled on the girl.
Where are my goddamn men!!?? I cursed out, as I tried to reach for my gun with my other hand.
Loud voices were heard as more people trooped into the room, and someone shot at my leg this time, eliciting a loud growl from me.
The excruciating pain shot up to my spine, burning in me so fierce, I could hardly maintain my composure.
Breathing heavily, I tried painstakingly to reach the gun. Glancing up, I could see him unfastening the binds on the girl.
“Not too fast, brother,” I sneered, as I eventually got hold of the gun and pulled the trigger.
He was hoisting her up when my words made him freeze in his actions, and I watched with slight satisfaction as the bullet went through his arm.
He groaned, as he immediately doubled over.
Someone came to his side, and they quickly took the unconscious girl from his arms.
I pointed my gun at him as well, but someone beat me to it, and I felt foot stomp at my arms, and my gun tossed away from me.
My narrowed eyes took them in, but for the life of me, I couldn’t recall who they were. Although, I was pretty sure they were here for Angelo. But they were not a part of his Mafia. Not that I know of.
I couldn’t give up, nor make them feel they had the upper hand. But as I glanced up, five to six men in masks, were pointing their guns at me.
Angelo was limping away, with the girl in front.
“What now, motherfuckers? Go ahead! Go ahead if you wanna kill me, you twats.” I yelled out, feeling utterly pissed.
One of them brought down his gun, and as he did ai, I caught sight of a tattoo on his lower arm.
A really familiar tattoo.
The rest of them brought down their weapons as well, and as I observed, they bore the same tattoo, at the exact same place.
Surely, these aren’t Angelo’s men, but…
A feeling of dread settled in me, and my eyes widened drastically…
