She quickly followed the sound and finally saw a woman lying on the ground in the corner. “Regan!” She rushed over.
“Regan!”
Callie knelt down to check on Regan’s condition.
What was in her eyes was overwhelming despair.
The moment she saw Callie, it was as if she finally saw hope and burst into tears. “Callie…”
Callie’s nose stung. She used the light to see Regan’s back and found that her clothes were in tatters, and her exposed skin was covered in whip marks.
The wounds were deep, still bleeding.
Tears streamed down Callie’s face. “Regan…”
Jaquan frowned as well. “Isaac went all out!”
Looking around, there were many tools of violence, some still stained with blood, which was horrifying.
Callie tried to help Regan up. “Come on, I’ll take you out of here now. We’ll see a doctor. You’ll be fine, Regan, you’ll be fine!”
Regan gasped, “No… I can’t go out now…”
“Why not?”
“Today… is Marilyn’s birthday. If I go out like this, Isaac will never let you go!”
Hearing this, Callie anxiously looked at Jaquan. “What do we do?”
He nodded. “There are many people outside, including the media. She really can’t go out.” He took out his phone. “Wait a moment, I’ll find someone.”
Callie held Regan tightly, but her body was so cold, it seemed it would never warm up again.
Ten minutes later, Jaquan returned. “I asked Mikayla to get a doctor who will disguise themselves and come in here, but they must not be discovered.”
Callie was incredulous. “You mean Regan can’t leave here?”
“Isaac could come back at any time. We can’t take her out before tomorrow.”
Regan grabbed Callie’s sleeve and nodded wearily. “He’s right, I can’t leave today.”
For now, that was all they could do.
Mikayla acted quickly, having the doctor disguised as a Scott Group employee sneak in.
But Jaquan’s actions tonight drew attention.
“Mr. Oconnor, Jaquan has been acting strangely today.” Anthony watched as he hurriedly entered the Ellison family estate to find the secretary.
Nelson glanced over. “Keep an eye on him.”
“And us?”
“We’ll stay here.”
In the basement.
The doctor took out various instruments and said cautiously, “Miss Regan, we don’t have the conditions for anesthesia here. You’ll have to bear with it a little.”
So when the cotton swabs soaked in medicine touched Regan’s skin, she nearly fainted from the pain.
Callie couldn’t bear to watch and turned away to hold back her tears.
Jaquan looked at her and sighed lightly. His large hand hesitated in the air for a few seconds before patting her shoulder in comfort.
Callie cursed softly, “Bastard!”
Mikayla was very nervous about the situation. “Mr. Scott, we can’t delay too long. If we’re discovered outside, it won’t be good.”
Jaquan nodded and said to Callie, “You need to leave with me.”
“I can’t go.” She was resolute and couldn’t leave Regan here alone.
“Staying here won’t help. If Isaac sees you and attacks you, no one can save you!” Jaquan’s tone turned harsh at the end.
Callie was slightly taken aback. “I can’t leave her.”
“Tomorrow I’ll find a way to lure Isaac out, then have Sienna rescue Regan.” Jaquan was determined.
“Can you do it…”
“Trust me.”
He had said before that she could always trust him.
Callie calmed down. After the doctor finished treating Regan’s wounds and ensured they wouldn’t get infected, she left with Jaquan.
Before leaving, she held Regan’s hand and said seriously, “We’ll see each other outside.”
Regan’s lips were pale, her eyes filled with tears as she nodded with difficulty.
