Book:Mated to the Devil Alpha Published:2024-12-4

All through the night of carrying Nora on my back and walking inside the woods, I clenched my teeth to restrain myself from groaning or crying. It was as if each step I made brought more trouble.
It wasn’t as if I was the only one doing the carrying but my body hurts!
I looked over my shoulders to see Nora sleeping. Should I call it sleeping?
Nevermind, Arenza said she would be fine after some days, but if we keep her like this for some days, she would definitely slow us down. It wasn’t as of we knew where we are going or had any idea of how were kept going in circles, I honestly felt that we are still trapped in that fake woods or in a fearful martix.
I glanced at Arenza who placed her index finger on her lips Indicating that I should keep quiet. I did anyway, until we got to what looked like a cave.
She brought out a piece of paper and stared at it in the dark. I bet she could not see anything written Or drawn on it.
“Humans gat night vision?’ I asked sarcastically.
Arenza giggled.
“We gat phone, Luna weather” She said.
As I wondered why she kept calling me weather, I watched her brought out her phone and shone the light on it. Frankly, I was surprised I had no idea phone had torches until now.
It look so cool, I will make sure to do that with my phone when I get back to my room in Rex’s pack.
That would be when I get out.
“Accordingly to our map, this place is camera blind” She dropped her hands to her side “It’s dangerous because the rogues comes here often but….”.
“You are kidding” I interrupted as I let Nora fall.
Good thing she didn’t bump her head on a nearby rock or we would have to deal with her healing when she just too extra dosage of wolfsbane.
“You are joking” I grinned hoping she would see my face in the dark “I am naked and cold in the middle of nowhere and you are suggesting we hide here when you know how rogues met here?!”.
I didn’t expect her to say something, well, she didn’t. Initially, I wished she had said something, maybe yell, or apologize, or just anything… this is so frustrating, very frustrating.
“I can barely shift, that’s if I still can” I muttered “You are one weak tiny human and Nora is out! This place belongs to the rogues”.
“That’s why we need it” Arenza sat down “They are all looking for you at the other side of the sewage unit or the rest side of the….” She paused for a moment.
Her index motion round as if trying to point out the whole place at once.
“This side has not been visited since you got here so… We are okay here for 24 hours before we do something”.
Maybe she got a point.
If all the rogues are there, they would definitely be looking for us in a different place.
After making Nora feel comfortable, I sat naked on the floor. I regret ever taking off the Jacket and now I freezing. I couldnt express my gratitude since I felt a pieces of clothing on my back.
“You will freeze out if you reject it” Arenza said.
Was that supposed to be a threat?
Anyway I collected the cloth and wore it. It seem a bit better but covered only my stomach upward. Starting at me, Arenza didn’t say a word. All she did was gave me this ‘You asked for it’ look before I decide to settle.
My gaze went to Nora still unconscious on the floor, making me wonder is she would ever want up. A little part of me wanted peace but not when I have Arenza staring at me.
“Mira said so much about you, Weather” she said.
I cringed, of there was one thing I hate, I rather stay nameless that have someone call me names. I rather have my face full of divk like how Brook would want it.
“I see you are not much a talker at some point, Wea..”.
“It’s Rain!” I snapped “It’s fucking Rain and how do you know we were going to be there?”.
Arenza looked at me blankly for a while before looking away. Her thin lips slowly spread into a flat smile as she stopped and ended it with a grin.
She moved stray hair off her face making me wonder if she was okay.
“When I meet Miranda, I had this connection to her” Arenza started “She would come to pick up some weird leaves and i have no idea of what she wanted to use it for”.
I forced myself not to roll my eyes and looked away. Technically, nothing she was saying made any reason justify where he had to be attached to me.
“Soon, Mira began to talk about a Luna like her but seems different” Arenza continued like it was a causal discussion “She explained all about you and I found myself learning about your kind until i got caught by Mr Brook who said he love my research”.
Here goes the award for the lamest story.
I slowly stretched and laid down. With my hair messingly on the floor as I stared at the brightened up sky, I felt amazed I had stayed up all night.
In other case, we had all walked through the night in a place we barely now.
“I was so stupid to show Brook about what I think about you and and boom, he began to make do work and and lots of projects” Arenza slapped her palms together.
I sat up, staring at the woman that had helped me ruin my life and sighed.
“He isn’t the only one that have paid a huge amount of money to know about you, including Who Mira call Alpha Rex”.
On hearing my mate’s name, my body shivered. It was as if I had become exposed all of a sudden and I just realised that I am almost naked.
I opened my lips as I watch the carefree woman play with her hairs and the urge to smack the shit of her face came to my mind but she is a bit needful.
“Anyone that sucks your blood from you becomes immortal, like of they drink directly from you like a vampire” Arenza said with a satisfied smile on her face “In other words, Brook is an immortal and that makes up dead is I don’t help you grow your powers” she ended.
I was surprised.
So Rex had been checking about what I am and didn’t care to tell me? Was that why he drank from me?
I looked directly at Arenza and wondered why a human would know much about me and I don’t know.
Gosh! I evny her so badly.
“I don’t know why you are staring at me like that but I don’t fear you” Arenza added with a grim.
Pffff.
