Damian
“We woke up naked in bed together, so what did you think we did all night? Pray? Do not be stupid, Damian; you were drunk, so obviously you didn’t remember all the naughty things I did to you… But one thing I can say is that you are truly an alpha male in bed, whether you are drunk or not. You are indeed a bad wolf; the way you screamed while I swallowed that huge dick of yours all at once in my mouth; the way you cum so fast in just three seconds of entering my sweet, delicious pussy, like you called it; the way you made me feel; and after that night, it’s no wonder why I got pregnant and have a child for y-”
“Enough with your lies.” I interrupted her before she could finish. “You really have a creative and wild imagination, I must say. Lying is obviously your true talent; you should give up being Luna and take the job of a clown instead.” I scoffed, rolling my eyes at her absurd claims, while Lilith’s expression shifted from arrogance to frustration.
“Stop being in denial, Damian. It’s just the two of us here, so you don’t need to let your guard down,” she whispered seductively in my ear. Swiftly, I pivoted around, causing her to collide with the door, eliciting a groan of pain from her.
“I saw everything that happened that night through the magic mirror-how you shamelessly made your way to my bed while I was drunk, Lilith-and tried to take advantage of me. I knew you poisoned the alcohol because there was no way a bottle could get me drunk, and after further secret investigation, I was fucking right, and for that, I’ll never forgive you. Unfortunately, it was too late to explain everything to Ava, who walked in and found us in such a compromising position and believed you at that moment instead of me, and for that, I would never blame her because I was the one who let my fucking guard down, and it cost me her beautiful life. Don’t worry, Lilith; your time with me is up, and your cup is filled. Even without the magic mirror, I would never have believed you, because you know why? I’d rather die of abstinence than touch a demon like you. You don’t turn me on, Lilith; you make me want to vomit every time I see your ugly face.”
Yeah.. Ruby wasn’t the only one who wanted to taste Lilith’s blood.
“Yo-youu s-saw ev-everything th-through the magic mirror? How is that possible?” She stammered, and I rolled my eyes at her dramatic behavior. “The magic mirror has been extinct for centuries, just like their true owners, the witches; how did you find it?”
Lilith’s eyes widened with disbelief, her hands trembling as she tried to comprehend the revelation. The shock and fear on her face were evident as the weight of her deceit unraveled. Little did she know that my sister possessed the magic mirror, hidden from the knowledge of others as she was a hybrid, and apart from my people, everyone else that came across my sister thought she was wolfless and useless.
“How I found it is none of your business, but I want to warn you that those little silly games you play are over, and the reason you are still walking alive is because of the relationship between your father and me. It would be disrespectful of me to send your head to him as a birthday present, although that doesn’t sound like a bad idea.”
“Damian I -”
“Your pathetic attempts at deception are quite amusing, Lilith. The world may think you’re a powerful Luna, but here you are, exposed and defenseless.”I taunted, relishing in the revelation of her true nature.
Lilith’s eyes darted around, searching for an escape, but the realisation of her predicament settled in. The air grew tense, and her desperation was palpable.
“What do you want, Damian? Why are you doing this?” She finally blurted out, a hint of vulnerability breaking through her facade.
I knew she was in love with me. She had always been. That’s why when I offered to buy half of the academy, she didn’t think twice about selling it to me, not caring about the consequences with Liam.
“I want you out of my life, Lilith. Your schemes and lies have no place here. Consider Ruby and me off-limits from now on when you play your childish game. Is that clear?” I declared, maintaining a steely resolve. She sneered, attempting to regain control.
“Do you think you can just abandon me? Anna still needs a mother, and I’m the perfect woman who can be your mate and Luna. First, you tried replacing me with Ava, and now Ruby? Trust me, Damian, this won’t end well, and you’ll regret not accepting me and putting another woman before me,” she yelled, forcefully gripping my neck.
“Regret? Choose you? In your dreams,” I scoffed at her absurdity. “We both know you’ll never meet their standards. I’m warning you for the last time to behave, Lilith, before I reveal more than just your lies,” I warned, my tone cutting through the tension.
Lilith’s fingers tightened around my neck, and her eyes flickered with a mix of irritation and something that looked like desire. “Damian, you’re playing a dangerous game. I know your threats are empty. We’re both mad at each other, so why not release our frustration with some fun at your place? I can make you scream even louder than last time,” she suggested, dangerously bringing my hands closer to her chest, but I scoffed at her desperation.
“Liam made a foolish choice, leaving Ruby for you, and I bet he regrets it every day. But I want to thank you for that, because you gave me the chance to have Ruby for myself. Now, go face him for selling his father’s academy to an enemy.” I smirked, gently removing her hands from my neck. I won’t deny it; breaking them was tempting.
“If you think that owning half of the academy would make me submit to your whims, you’re mistaken.” She glared. I chuckled, feigning nonchalance.
“I don’t need your submission, Lilith. I have my reasons for acquiring those shares, and thankfully you gave them to me on a silver platter.”
She leaned in, her lips dangerously close to my ear. “You know I did that because I wanted you. You can’t hide your true intentions from me, Damian. I know what you want too, and that omega is just a quick fuck like the rest of the other woman. She would never be as good as me.”
“She’s better than you,” I muttered, pushing her away and walking off. Lilith trailed after me, her gaze sharp and inquisitive. Doesn’t she give up?
“Damian I knew how much you were in love with Ava, which makes me sure there’s no fucking way you can replace her with a lowlife omega; that will be insulting. What exactly do you want with Ruby? I can smell something fishy, and I know there’s more to this than meets the eye.” I glanced at her, a sly smile playing on my lips.
“Lilith, you always had a knack for prying into others’ business. And what if I am in love with Ruby? Why is that impossible? Ava is dead, and I have moved on.” She raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced.
“You swore on Ava’s dead bed to remain faithful to her, so what changed? You aren’t going to make her your Luna, are you?”
“Stop poking into things that aren’t your business, and yes, Ruby will be my Luna. Now, leave me alone, or I might do everyone a favour and snap your tiny neck,” I warned. Her eyes narrowed at my words. With that, I left Lilith standing in the hallway, her mind undoubtedly brewing with curiosity and suspicion.
Leaving the Werewolf Academy, the air outside felt strange, and the shadows moved as I walked purposefully. The smell of the nearby forest pulled me towards the outskirts, and my wolf wanted to come out, and I happily let it happen. Each twist felt exciting as I transformed from a person to a wolf. My senses got better, and the world around me looked more colourful.
My eyes shone with a bit of magic, and I wiggled my tail, letting out a loud howl that echoed through the trees. As a majestic black wolf, I looked around, feeling the primal energies in the wilderness. With sharp instincts, I headed to my pack house, moving gracefully through the wilderness. In less than five minutes, I arrived, unlike the last time when I had to be careful because of my daughter.
I changed back into my wolf form as I reached my house. I noticed my beta James already waiting at the front door. There was a slight grin on his face, but his eyes betrayed his eagerness. He stood with a mix of respect and anticipation, his hands casually clasped in front.
Locking eyes with me, his expression brightened, and relief flickered in his gaze.
“I hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long, did I?”
“Not at all alpha,” he said, his voice a blend of loyalty and camaraderie. A subtle nod accompanied his words, emphasising the unspoken understanding between us.
Returning the smile, I acknowledged his presence with a firm handshake, expressing gratitude without words. He had been handling most of my responsibilities and dealing with pack issues on my behalf.
“Good to see you, my friend. Let’s chat inside,” I said, leading the way into the house.
“Your sister wanted me to give you this first. She said it’s urgent.” He handed me a sealed letter with a respectful nod I hadn’t noticed he held.
“What she is asking for is impossible; tell her to find another way.” I sighed, recalling our last talk. Breaking the wax seal with a quick motion, I unfolded the parchment. The words, written in an elegant script, conveyed a sense of urgency.
Selene.
“Dear Brother, I hope this letter finds you in good health. I would have delivered this message to you in person, but after our last conversation, where you rejected my conditions, I couldn’t waste my precious time again. Are you really planning to start a new life against the promises you made to your ex-mate? As you asked, I read the book for another full day and found another possible alternative, but it comes with risks too. You’ll need to travel for three days through the forest of darkness and bring back the flower of life; it’s either that or sacrifice another new mate in place of your ex-mate. Please respond soon; time is running out for me and my time of death is almost at hand… unless you’re willing to sacrifice someone else you love on my behalf.
If you return from the forest of darkness alive, meet me at the sacred grove under the light of the next full moon. Time is crucial, and our choices will have consequences. Best wishes, Selene”
I crushed the letter in my hand, a mix of concern and curiosity clouding my thoughts. My relationship with my sister wasn’t great, but she had tried her best to have a good relationship with me. I wasn’t sure if she was truly dying or just seeking attention, as she often did, but one thing was clear-I had to return from the forest of darkness on time.
The forest of darkness? No human, wolf, or vampire had returned alive from there. Could I gamble with my life and leave Anna as an orphan?
“She said time is running out of your side and this needs to be done in the next full moon, didn’t she?” James asked, making me raise an eyebrow suspiciously at him.
“You read the letter?” I asked, and my beta raised his hands in surrender.
“No, I didn’t, but it was obvious by the look on your face,” he admitted.
“So, what are you going to do? Sacrifice your second chance, mate, for the first? You made promises to both Anna and her mother.” His words hung in the air, and I ran my hands through my hair in frustration, my face reflecting the inner turmoil. He observed my reaction, waiting for my response.
Ugh!!!
Could I really be heartless enough to sacrifice Ruby for Ava just to give my daughter back her mother?
“Prepare a room for my new mate and her son; the Luna ceremony will be in a week.” I spoke with a heavy sigh, my expression betraying a mix of determination and conflict. “I trust you to take care of everything before I return.”
