Lilith
“You still want me?”
“Of course I still want you. I love you. I’ve not been myself without you. I stay awake all night, punishing myself for pushing you away. Max wouldn’t talk to me.”
“I combed the entire town in search of you for 4 years. I attempted suicide because of how miserable I was without you. Marina got mad that I let you slip away. You are my life, Lilith.”
I sniffed, blinking back the tears from my eyes.
“I almost got rid of the baby.”
“I understand. Did you come because of me?”
“No. The day you rejected me, my mother died. I only came here because yesterday was her remembrance. Since I left this town in haste, I couldn’t bury her, but my best friend did.”
“What about the boy I saw you with? Is he your son?” I could sense his nervousness as his heart began to beat very fast.
“He is my son,” I sighed, pulling away from his embrace and staring at him with guilty eyes. “I had him 4 years ago.”
“There is something you need to know,” I started, shutting my eyes as I released a deep breath.
Peering my eyes open, I swallowed hard, bracing myself for the big moment of truth.
His anxiety doubled, and his heart raced at an accelerated pace.
“The night I found out that my mum died, I found out I was pregnant. Remember the day we had sex at the fashion store and in the garden?”
“Yes,” he breathed, gluing his widened eyes on mine.
“I forgot to take a pill. But I swear, it’s only you that I’ve been with. It’s only you that I dated. Nothing happened between me and the fans on that app. It was just a dance. I never exposed my body or visited them-”
My words hung in my throat as he kissed me deeply, holding my face with his palm.
“I believe you,” he stated, smiling as he pulled away from my lips to catch his breath.
“He is your son, Casper. I didn’t want to tell you because I don’t know how you will react to the news, especially after our fallout.”
“I’m excited about the news. Where is he?” He asked, peeking inside the room.
“Watching a movie with my sister and my best friend.”
“Stay with me. I want us to stay together as a family,” he suggested. Liz couldn’t help but howl excitedly.
“I can’t leave her. She is my best friend. We haven’t seen each other for the past 5 years.”
“You are my mate and my Luna. My son is the future Alpha. We should stay together.”
A smile broke on my face as it gradually inched towards him. His lips were about to consume mine before the door yanked wider, making us pull away from each other’s grip.
“Is this daddy?” Liam’s voice penetrated my ears, making me roll my eyes.
“He is so obsessed about knowing his daddy these days,” I whispered to him before turning to Liam, who had a bright smile on his face.
“I remember you, you saved me,” he gasped, jumping in excitement while Alpha Casper swept him off his feet, carrying him in his strong arms.
“You are so cute,” he complimented, playing with his chubby cheeks. “What’s your name?”
“Liam. Liam Parker,” he answered sharply while Alpha Casper narrowed his gaze at me.
“Don’t judge me. We lost touch and I thought you wouldn’t accept him.”
“From today, your name is Liam Hunter,”
“Why?” Liam asked with curiosity, shooting his confused gaze at me.
“Because my name is Casper Hunter,” he answered, winking at Liam.
Liam’s eyes widened as his mouth formed an ‘o’. “Are you my father?”
“Yes, I’m your father.”
“But Aunt Daphne said my mummy will get married to another man who will be my new daddy. Does that mean I will have 2 daddies?” He asked, furrowing his brows in confusion.
Alpha Casper and I exchanged a look before his gaze fell on Liam. “That won’t be necessary because mummy and daddy are back together.”
“That’s great!”
“How would you like living with me? I have some fancy toys and a nice room that you will love.”
“Cool!” Liam screamed, wrapping his small hands around Casper. “Thanks, Dad.”
“You are welcome.”
We strode into the sitting room. The movie was finished, and Daphne’s eyes were dried.
Her eyes met Casper’s, and she shot me a confused look.
“Daphne, can we talk?”
“Is everything okay? Who is this handsome dude?”
“He is Alpha Casper. He is my mate,” I revealed, watching her face contort in a frown.
“The one that rejected you?”
“It was a huge misunderstanding, and we’ve straightened things out. We are good now.”
“I hope he won’t abandon you again,” she drawled, her voice dripping with anger.
“I won’t. As a matter of fact, I have come to collect my family. We will live together as from today,” he stated authoritatively, turning to Liam with a smile. “Right, Liam?”
He nodded, giggling sheepishly.
“But you can’t just barge in after abandoning them for many years. You don’t know what Lilith went through,” Daphne argued, fear and anger descended on her as she shook her head vehemently.
“It’s in the past. We’ve moved on, and like Lilith said, we are good now. Do you have a problem with that?” he asked in a dangerously low voice, growling.
Fear clouded everyone’s eyes as tension filled the air.
“Daphne, please, don’t fight, Dad. He is a good man and he has changed.” Liam pleaded, sniffing as he was about to burst into tears. “Right?”
“Yes. And I will never leave you again.” Alpha Casper confirmed, kissing his cheek.
“Thank you for everything you did while I wasn’t around. And thanks for letting them stay in your house. I will collect them tomorrow morning.” He started kissing Liam and me before walking out of the house.
“What just happened?” Rose asked in fear, staring at us.
It was funny how Alpha Casper and my wolf, Liz, hate Daphne without any reason. But Daphne meant the whole world to me.
Daphne glared at me with eyes full of anger. “You are making a big mistake, Lilith!”
