Casper
“Alpha, wait!” Raphael called, struggling to keep up with my pace as I stormed out of the estate.
‘What was her offence?”
“She was accused of stealing some stupid clothes, a card, and a phone.” I gritted, clenching my teeth.
The allegations sounded convincing, but I knew within me that Lilith would never steal a dime.
She could have withdrawn the money in my card and made away with it. She could have stolen from my estate when I was unconscious, but she didn’t.
Lilith was many things; stubborn, curious, disobedient as she flaunted my rules. But she was never a thief.
The faint sound of Raphael’s scoff wafted my ears.
“Maybe she did. You can never be so sure,” he said coldly, pinching the bridge of his nose.
I halted, turning to him sharply as a deadly glare descended on my face.
“What the hell did you just say?” I asked, grinding my teeth as my pupils dilated and anger seeped through me.
It was like a volcano, ready to erupt.
“No offence, but I don’t think you should be at the station right now. We were in the apex of a very crucial conversation, and you want to throw it away because of that girl?”
“The manager that got her arrested can’t be wrong. Her type is everywhere. They pretend, but deep down, there are many things you don’t know.”
“Shut his mouth with a punch before I do it!” Max growled, irritated by Raphael’s words.
It was only a matter of time before he switched to his irrational side if I stood there doing nothing.
“You are probably going there to cause a scene because she got arrested, but before you embarrass yourself, think. What if she actually stole. Do you want to make a fool of yourself in the presence of people? Most importantly, do you want people to see that thief attached to you? That could ruin your reputation considering how powerful you are.”
“You can stay at home if you want. Your negative presence is the least I need right now,” I said in a warning, walking towards the garage as I pulled my keys from my pocket.
“What if you are making a big mistake!”
I turned to look at him, cocking my brows and shooting him a perplexed look as my stomach churned with rage.
“You are beginning to annoy me,” I gritted, narrowing my gaze.
“It is obvious that she stole it. Instead of you running to act like her knight in shining amour, why don’t you let her stay for a few days before going to bail her. That way, she will learn to keep her hands off things that belong to someone.”
“How did she even sneak past the security? Why can’t she use her salary to purchase what she can afford instead of expensive products? Or combine 3 jobs if she loves designer items. She got what she deserves.”
Releasing a menacing growl as Max fought to take over me, I zoomed towards him, using my super speed, clasping my hands around his throat and pushing him against the wall.
My eyes flashed red as I tried to keep Max at bay, fighting the urge to rip his tan skin with my sharp claws.
“I am this close to punching you in the face. Say one more word about Lilith and I will release Maxwell on you,” I stopped briefly as my face darkened as a menacing laughter erupted from my lips. “You know how savage he can be, especially when he still hates you.”
Pulling him away from the wall, I pushed him to the floor, watching him lose balance and groan painfully.
Turning away from him, I could feel his hateful glare boring into me. But I don’t give a fuck if he thinks Lilith was driving me crazy.
Without sparing him a look, I slid into my car, zooming off.
I didn’t care whoever it was. But if anyone messes with Lilith, they will face my wrath.

Lilith
It happened so quickly and in a flash of light, I found myself dragged by the cops to the car, sandwiched between them thrown into jail.
I screamed in horror the moment the iron bar was shut against me noisily.
I thought it was a bad dream that I wanted to wake up from. Pinching myself desperately, tears flowed from my eyes.
It was reality.
Loneliness settled within me as fear crept into my head.
I felt many emotions at once and I was almost going crazy.
I had never been in jail before. Everything was new to me.
Thankfully, I was the only one in my cell.
My back hit the wall and I slid down until I reached a squatting position, burying my face on my thighs and wrapping my arms around myself.
I had never been this lonely and frightened.
I could communicate or escape as my phone was taken from me. All my belongings laid on the desk of an officer.
Thanks to the manager. I was branded a thief.
Amid tears, my mind wandered to Alpha Casper. He would have been expecting me home without an idea of what was going on.
I wasn’t sure if they had called him because, but it was most likely. The manager of the fashion store insisted that they tracked the owner of the black card because they assumed I stole it.
I couldn’t think of what Alpha Casper’s reaction would be if they made that call, especially if it was in the presence of Raphael.
What would he think of me?
Would he defend me? Or would he assume that they were right?
More tears spilled from my eyes, staining my lap. It was as if I could hear Raphael’s snickers and arrogant words.
He had always believed that I was a gold digger, an opportunist that should never be trusted. I hope he is happy now.
A cloud of sorrow loomed over me as my mind wandered to my mother, my sister and Ricky.
I had to get out of this place while the day was still young.
I had a day and a few hours before I met Ricky’s deadline.
And according to the woman’s words, she was ready to take the case up and make sure I stay here for a long time.
Horror grew on my face as the consequences of her threats began to unfold in my head.
My mother and sister would have been long dead and the delay fees would have accumulated, making me unable to pay it.
No matter the job, no one would want to hire someone with a criminal record, especially for theft.
It was either I work for Ricky and paid him in other ways or I committed suicide.
Fear sank its claws into my heart as the thought that no one knew where I was. They would think I had vanished into the thin air.
Ricky would think I played a smart one and Alpha Casper would think I toyed with his heart.
No!
I couldn’t let that happen!
The last thing I wanted was for Alpha Casper to believe Raphael’s words.
“Excuse me!” I yelled, standing erect and wiping the tears off my face.
I stretched my hands in the space between the iron bars, trying to get people’s attention.
“In here, I need to make a call. Hello,” I persisted, hitting the iron door to gain attention.
It seemed like I was invisible to them as their attention was focused on the manager and the sales assistant.
It didn’t take long before a familiar faint scent of honey and chocolate invaded my nose.
I was puzzled for a minute, debating whether my guess was right.
“Where is she!” A thunderous voice resounded. It bled anger and danger.
I tried stretching to get the view of who it was, but it proved abortive.
“She is in there, but you cannot see her. She stole very expensive items and it’s against the rules-”
The policeman hadn’t finished his words before I heard a loud thud followed by items crashing and the loud groaning of a man.
“Lilith!”
It was until I heard my voice my heart leapt for joy.
“Alpha Casper!” I screamed in ecstasy, stretching my hand out of the gate to direct him to me.
He appeared before me in a blink of an eye and I broke down in tears.
“I can explain. I never stole anything. I was just admiring a dress because no one attended to me-”
“I know,” he responded, squeezing my hands gently with a look of sincerity on his face.
“You don’t doubt me?” I asked, gasping in shock at his confidence.
“I know you didn’t do it. Let’s get you out.”
It was like a burden was lifted over me, knowing that he didn’t believe the accusations.
I’ve never felt so excited.
“Thank you,” I mouthed.
He turned away from me, signaling to the cop that passed by.
“Open this thing, she can’t stay in here,” he demanded while the cop gave him a quizzical look.
“Sir, I don’t know you, but you are not supposed to be here. She is supposed to stay for a while.”
“That is why I am letting you go. Because you don’t know who I am. I won’t repeat myself again, open this stupid gate!”
“But-”
“She leaves now!” He growled, hitting his fist on the gate to create a rattling sound while another cop ran to where I was locked up and opened the gate.
“Alpha Casper, I’m sorry this happened. I didn’t know she belonged to you. I couldn’t have called you immediately when she got here. Pardon him, he is new. He just got transferred,” he blurted, shaking like a leaf as fear consumed him.
His eyes shut in fear as Alpha Casper grabbed his collar and pinned him against the wall.
“Get me the officer in charge of this case!” He growled, baring his sharp canines before releasing him.
The cop raced in fear, disappearing. I could hear the loud beating of his heart.
I walked out of the cell, engulfing Alpha Casper in a warm embrace.
His eyes narrowed as he examined my red and tender cheeks with his thumb gliding over the sore part.
“Who did this to you?”
