“I don’t expect you to give me a reply right now because it’s a lot. Here is the card, if you think you can do it, you know where to find me.” He winked before slipping a small card into my hand and squeezing it tight while I kept staring at him as if I had seen a ghost.
I should sleep with a vegetable for $50000?
Hell yes!
I’ll do anything as long as it means my family will get the best treatment, and I won’t lose any of them.
“Do I have to marry him after I get pregnant?” My shaky voice pierced through the silence before I swallowed.
My keen eyes were fastened on the doctor, and my heartbeat accelerated.
“No. The pay is like compensation for your trouble. Plus, you will also get a well-furnished house. You don’t have to worry about getting an apartment to move your family.”
He looked at me, expecting a reply, but I was lost for words. I didn’t know when I dropped the card in my bag.
The offer keeps getting better.
How rich was this man?!
My head was in a state of crisis. I was torn between accepting the offer or returning home as a poor maid.
“I understand that you have not decided yet, but when you’ve come to a conclusion and you accept the offer, call me. You have 3 days to decide whether you will accept or not. You have to make up your mind fast.” He explained, his words laced with urgency.
I swallowed the bile stuck in my throat, placing my bag on my shoulder before standing to my feet.
A part of me wanted to agree foolishly and sign the contract while another part of me needed some time to think it through.
Taking the offer meant I would stop working for Alpha Casper.
I knew I wouldn’t stay long in Alpha Casper’s estate, working as a maid all day. Once I’ve been able to clear the medical bills for my sister and my mother, get a good apartment, and get a better job, I will resign.
But the pressing question was…was I ready to stop working for Alpha Casper?
I wouldn’t lie to myself, I don’t think I see myself away from him.
Though he acted weird some days, and he pushed me off with his harsh demeanor, I found myself tied to him.
I noticed a strange feeling when I felt a bond between us, though I couldn’t explain it. Or maybe it was my imagination messing with me.
Maybe I should just accept the offer and forget about Casper.
But then, the surge of sensation I felt when Alpha Casper ran his hands down my back came crashing into my memory.
I didn’t want it to stop there. I wanted more.
But I was scared my yelling pushed him away.
I didn’t know how engrossed I was in my thoughts until the doctor’s warm hands rested against mine, shaking me lightly.
“Think about this. You would do yourself a huge favor by considering any of these options. The ball is in your court,” he said in a low but firm tone before releasing the grip.
I nodded, forcing a smile before making my way out of the hospital, allowing my legs to Daphne’s workplace.
I confided in her about the options given to me by the doctor, and she picked surrogacy because I wouldn’t need to have sex with someone I wasn’t attracted to. We chatted until evening, and I left her place to my former apartment to get my clothes and other necessary things.
When I was done, it was evening already. It would be dark before I got to the estate. I was certain that Alpha Casper would be mad that I flaunted his rules again.
An idea popped into my head when the last incident between us played in my mind.
Maybe I should slip into the estate at night so that we won’t meet. I was still ashamed of coming in contact with him.
I couldn’t ignore the way he stared at my boobs hungrily.
He looked like he was ready to pounce on them.
I left my apartment, locking the door. I had barely walked out of my apartment when I saw two men pinned their gaze on me. One was in his motorcycle while the other was inside a black SUV.
Fear gripped me hard as one of the men nodded to the other in a car before zooming off on his motorcycle.
I was certain they were stalking me.
I turned to run anywhere safe, but my legs gave way, making me fall hard on the ground.
From the corner of my eyes, I saw the black SUV drive down in my direction with speed.
Dashing to my feet as adrenaline charged me, I maneuvered my way out of his presence. Thankfully, the day was still a bit bright, and a lot of people were outside, making it difficult to spot me out of the sea of crowds.
He waited an extra minute before entering into his car, parking in a nearby place with his eyes glued outside.
I slipped out of my hide zone, blending with the crowd to escape. It wasn’t easy getting away from his eagle eyes as he ordered more men to keep a watch for me.
I had almost escaped and got on a bus when a clumsy man bumped into me.
“Hey! Watch where you are looking!” He yelled, scowling at me before hissing.
The noise caught their attention, and their eyes met mine.
My heart flinched, and I dashed into a race while they followed suit in the hot pursuit.

“You think you can escape from us?”
“You are coming with us today!”
Fear sank deep within me as their threats filled my ears.
I hid behind an oak tree, placing my hand over my mouth and masking my scent to avoid revealing myself.
I had to be safe for the sake of my mother and my sister. The thought of my disappearance will hasten her death.
My heart almost jumped out of my chest when one of the men came closer to the tree I hid before sniffing the air.
“Come out now, or you will be sorry if I have to fish you out!”
