Casper
My growls tore through the loud music, piercing everyone’s ears.
In the blink of an eye, I came into the light, revealing myself to them.
Satisfaction coursed through me like a refreshing drink when I saw fear registered on their faces.
At once, they put a stop to their nuisance, looking away from me with great fear and trembling.
Their faces turned pale like they had seen a Demon.
I salivated at the taste of their fears.
I miss the feeling of being the Lord over them.
Without thinking twice, I grabbed the bottle of bourbon that I hadn’t finished, smashing it on the bastard’s head.
How dare he try to force himself on her?!
How dare he hit her?!
Gasps tore from several lips when his head started oozing out blood like a fountain.
It didn’t take another second before his white shirt was soaked in blood and whisky while he screamed and cursed helplessly in Italian.
Serves him the fuck right.
“Is that really you, Casper? You are not…”
“Dead? No, but you will soon be,” I spat angrily, walking over his bleeding body and snapping his neck.
His body dropped on the hard floor like a log of wood, staining the beautiful design.
I loved the design.
When I looked into their eyes to see their reaction, they all looked away. I’m frightened.
They reeked of fear. I loved it.
It was high time I came out of the shadows to instill my fear in the hearts of men once again.
I have been in hiding for too long.
“You flinch, you join your amigo,” Raphael threatened, grabbing his own bottle of whisky before emptying it on the dead man’s face and letting out a maniac laughter.
The way my name rolled off their lips in fear brought joy to my soul.
For the first time in 10 years, I felt good.
“Get this into your blocked heads, no one lays a finger on her,” I warned, hardening my face, before releasing a harsh breath.
“In my absence or presence. If a hair on her head is touched, you are dead!” I threatened, revealing my elongated canines as a warning before walking up to the table where she sat, shaking in fear.
“Let’s go.” I urged her, guiding her steps as we walked out of the section, and into the elevator.
Once in the elevator, I noticed she was shivering from the corner of my eyes.
Her hands wouldn’t stop trembling and her teeth wouldn’t stop clattering.
Her fingers hugged her small frame as if trying to prevent cold and trying to protect herself.
My heart softened a bit as I watched her vulnerable state.
I could feel a small burst of happiness lodged in my heart.
I was glad I stood up for her. I felt proud of myself.
The reason I did that was unknown, but I couldn’t ignore the strong urge to let those bully gang rape her, knowing she couldn’t help herself and the bastard manager was useless.
I tried to fight it, but it grew stronger with every one of her screams.
Without thinking twice, I took off my black leather jacket and wore it on her to prevent the cold.
But her shivering didn’t stop.
It got worse when our bodies connected, making her heart beat loudly and her knees grow weak.
I understood that tonight was too much for her to bear.
I frightened her.
Hit by guilt, I stoop low to sweep her off her feet, carrying her in a bridal style and ignoring the look Raphael shot me.
“Alpha, what is wrong with you?” He asked via mind link.
“I don’t have a fucking clue. I don’t think I’m in control of myself anymore,” I explained helplessly, clutching her tightly to myself as if afraid to let her fall.
“Drop her,” he stated sternly.
Instead of responding, I threw him a helpless look, shaking my head slowly.
We made our way to the car.
From the look on Raphael’s face, I could tell he was mad at my actions, but I didn’t care.
I never understood the reason I could care less about him or his thoughts whenever I was around this strange girl.
I shot Raphael a look, indicating that he should open the car.
When the car was opened, he sat in the driver’s seat, waiting for me to dispose of the girl.
But to our surprise, I placed her carefully into the car, sitting beside her and shutting the door.
“Alpha, you are supposed to sit beside me,” he complained, giving me a look like I had lost my sense of reasoning.
Truly, I had lost it.
“Drive,” I instructed, gulping hard.
He hesitated for a while, turning to look at me from the driver’s seat for a split second.
“But, Alpha,” he started, his eyes roaming over the girl before landing on me. He cocked his brows, moving his head in a swift manner, indicating that she should leave since I’ve rescued her.
“Are you serious, Alpha? You are not taking her home, are you?” he questioned, opening his mind-link.
“No,” I replied calmly.
“Then fucking drop her and let us go home!” he yelled, hitting the steering to vent his anger.
“Goddammit Raphael, fucking drive!” I yelled at him, shutting the mind-link.
Anger rose in my gut as I couldn’t throw something at Raphael.
He was lucky we had company.
I didn’t want to make her scared of me by revealing my bad temper.
I didn’t know how she would take my bad side.
The last thing I wanted was her fainting or having a panic attack in my car.
The car engine roared to life and Raphael started driving in anger.
He did that when he was mad about my decision and he couldn’t get back at me.
This resulted in overspending.
“We have company in the car except you want to kill her. We are werewolves, we heal super fast, but I can’t say the same for her.” I tried to slow him, but it made him reduce his speed a bit.
He was lucky we weren’t alone. The champagne glass would have hit his head so hard that it would develop a bump.
I hated someone questioning me.
It made me feel weak and unable to make decisions.
He knew he could get away with it since he was my Beta, my only friend. Others would have lost their tongues.
I released the tense sign I didn’t know I was holding, relaxing into the seat.
From the corner of my eyes, I noticed the girl tugging at my jacket as if her life depended on it. Her breath seemed caught up and her lips were chapped.
“Reduce the AC,” I commanded Raphael using the mind link.
I didn’t want to give her the impression that I was gawking at her.
“What?” Raphael questioned, slowing down a bit to tilt his head at me, revealing a displeased face.
“You never ask me to reduce the Air-conditioner. In fact, you like it at this temperature.”
“For fuck’s sake, just do what you are told!” I groaned.
Why was Raphael disobedient tonight?
“I know it’s because of the girl. I observed that you behave strangely around her which is not cool. You better get rid of her quickly before you do something unexplainable because this is not you.”
“Do what you are told, Raphael,” I chimed in, leaning close to her before sinking my amber eyes into her hazel eyes.
I heaved a sigh of relief the moment I felt the AC had reduced.
Though I liked the very cold temperature, for her sake, I would endure it until I got home.
“It’s okay, you are safe now.” My voice came out gentler than before. It made an impact on her, making her tensed shoulders relax.
She mouthed a ‘thank you’ while I nodded, understanding that she was still frightened to talk.
She reminded me of Marina. They shared something in common.
They were tender.
My hands developed a will of their own, covering her exposed cleavage with my jacket so she would feel safe.
“Really? Alpha?”
Raphael questioned. I could feel his eyes boring into us from the rear mirror.
“Your eyes should be on the road if you don’t want us killed,” I told him, before focusing on the girl that was in my arms.
As if someone was coming to snatch her away, I had a firm grip over her, throwing my arm around her shoulder and pulling her close to me.
I inhaled her sweet vanilla scent, placing my nose over her head.
The steady beating of her heart satisfied me, making me know that my presence brought her safety.
For some weird reasons, we remained in that position and I wanted it to be like that, without anything pulling us apart.
Not even Raphael’s consistent yapping.
A part of me wanted to keep her safe. To protect her and make her happy.
“If you wanted a girl for the night, I could bring you better bitches than this,” he started again, stirring my anger.
“Watch your mouth, she is not a bitch,” I warned, growling inwardly.
“If she isn’t a bitch then what was she doing at that club, especially in that section dressed like a whore. The manager informs them of the danger, they are not forced to serve in that section.”
“She isn’t innocent. She knew what was coming for her, yet she kept pleading.” He hissed in annoyance.
“Let me ask you, Alpha, why are you helping her?”
