Chapter 1437: Lurking Among the Pirates

Afterwards, a few pirates stepped forward to carry away Phil King’s body and threw it into the sea. As for Phil King’s men, they were naturally taken over by Ironheart Steer. Some of Phil King’s followers attempted to resist, but all were forcefully subdued by Ironheart Steer. Having dealt with Phil King, Ironheart Steer turned to Jack and asked, “Jack, is everything ready?”
Seeing Phil King dead before him, Jack was truly terrified. He had previously hoped to gamble away all the money on the ship, but now, that seemed impossible. He was merely a pawn of Daniel Williams, just like Phil King. Noncompliance meant elimination at any moment. Jack took a deep breath and cautiously replied, “Mr. Steer, everything is ready.”
“Ha ha ha!”
Ironheart Steer laughed heartily and said, “Jack, remember, as long as you obey the prince well, the entire Caribbean will be yours to command!”
Jack managed a wry smile; being alive was fortunate enough, dominating the entire Caribbean was an impossible dream.
“Phil King is dead?”
Chris had not expected Ironheart Steer to be so ruthless, to kill at the drop of a hat. Yet, Phil King was just another pawn of Daniel Williams, disposable once he ceased to be useful.
“I need to figure out what exactly Daniel Williams is plotting.” Daniel Williams wouldn’t cause such a stir without a scheme, a fact Chris was certain of.
As night fell, the tension of the day took its toll, and Esther fell asleep. Seeing Esther asleep, Chris breathed a sigh of relief. He took off his jacket and gently covered Esther with it. Lighting a cigarette, Chris pondered deeply. Staying here meant waiting for doom, so he had to take action. Glancing at the sleeping Esther, Chris did not disturb her. He discarded his cigarette butt and quickly weaved through the crowd.
Soon, Chris arrived at a corner guarded by a pirate armed with a firearm. It was deep into the night, and most of the hostages were asleep. Chris surveyed his surroundings and then made his move. In a flash, he rushed at the pirate. Snap! Before the pirate could react, Chris had snapped his neck. His technique was skilled and nearly silent.
After killing the pirate, Chris stripped him of his clothes and dressed himself in them. It was dark, and unless one looked closely, it was impossible to tell that Chris was impersonating a pirate. Dressed in the pirate’s clothes, Chris hid the body and took the firearm.
Just then, a patrolling pirate approached.
“What are you doing here?”
Chris, fluent in the major languages of the world, responded, “I just saw a pretty girl…” He flashed a sleazy smile. The pirate’s eyes lit up immediately.
“Brother, take me to see her,” he said eagerly. Pirates, stranded on the island for years, were desperate for women. Chris smiled and said, “Sure, follow me!”
The pirate followed Chris back to the corner.
“Brother, where is that beautiful woman you mentioned?”
There was no one around, not a single woman in sight. As the pirate puzzled over this, a sudden intense pain shot through him. By the time he realized what was happening, his throat had already been twisted off by Chris. After successfully killing two pirates, Chris walked out of the cave brazenly holding a firearm.
Exiting the cave, Chris found thousands of pirates guarding the outside.
“Stop, what are you doing?”
he was immediately stopped by a few pirates as he walked out. Chris cursed loudly, “I’ve been inside all day, can’t I come out for some air?”
“Sure! Sure!”
Seeing that Chris was also a pirate, the pirates did not trouble him. These pirates were not warriors; they lacked strong organizational discipline. In another place, it would have been difficult for Chris to get out.
After leaving the cave, Chris went straight to the mountain top. He carefully surveyed the island and found it to be quite large. Indeed, the Caribbean region had many such islands. Along the way, Chris encountered many pirates, but since he was dressed as one of them, he went unnoticed.
In the middle of the island, Chris came across a large complex of buildings. In front of these buildings, numerous pirates patrolled with firearms. Chris didn’t need to guess; this complex must be where Ironheart Steer and others lived. His immediate priority was to find a satellite phone. Only with a satellite phone could Chris have Tiger bring people to rescue him. In a place like this, a regular cellphone would have no signal; only a satellite phone could connect with the outside world.
Chris cautiously sneaked into a building, only to find no satellite phones at all. Seeing this, Chris frowned.
“It looks like Ironheart Steer has confiscated all the satellite phones on the island!”
Now that all the satellite phones were confiscated, but Chris knew there was one place that must have one where Ironheart Steer resided. After all, how could Ironheart Steer contact Daniel Williams without a satellite phone?
However, getting a satellite phone from Ironheart Steer would not be easy. Chris was certain that Ironheart Steer would be protected by practitioners sent by Daniel Williams. Nonetheless, Chris had to try. Subsequently, Chris, armed with a firearm, walked towards a larger building. The outer perimeter was guarded by pirates, but inside, Chris found not pirates but people from Amerosia, dressed in the garb of the former Lord Valerian members. Clearly, these were Daniel Williams’ men.
Chris had previously destroyed Daniel Williams’ Hall of Valerian, causing him heavy losses. But Daniel Williams, unwilling to let the Hall of Valerian perish, had been secretly rebuilding it over time. After some time, he had finally managed to reestablish the Hall of Valerian. Although this new Hall of Valerian was not as powerful as before, it was not to be underestimated.
“Stop, this is not a place you can come,” a few Hall of Valerian practitioners stopped him as Chris approached. Seeing Chris dressed as a pirate, the practitioners of the Hall of Valerian looked at him with disdain.
