“Why couldn’t I reach any of you that night?”
“Boss, our phones are registered under real names, and we didn’t complete the registration, so the service provider cut them off.”
“How did you find this place?”
“We have your phone number. We spent some money to get your address from the phone registration information and found this rental apartment.”
Darnell eventually had to accept Cesar and his three companions as his subordinates again, due to their persistent tactics. He then asked the remaining questions on his mind, which Cesar answered reasonably. Darnell was somewhat annoyed, thinking that the phone registration system was indeed troublesome.
However, he didn’t dwell too much on these issues. He was never afraid of being sought out for revenge. If someone crossed his line, he would deal with them no matter how many came.
“Alright, I’ve accepted you all.”
Darnell looked at the four lively characters in front of him and waved his hand. “You can go back now. I’ll call you when I need help.”
To get rid of them as soon as possible, he generously pulled out a handful of coins. “Take these for transportation. If there’s extra, order some takeout.”
These coins were all the money he had collected from Hugo and his group last night, amounting to fifteen hundred dollars.
“Boss, we don’t need transportation.”
Cesar chuckled and pointed downstairs. “To better protect you, we’ve already moved to Woodsea and even into the same building. You live on the fifth floor. We live on the fourth floor, right below you. If you need anything, just stomp your foot, and we’ll come up to protect you.”
Harry and the others nodded in agreement. “Boss, if you need anything in the future, you don’t even need to call. Just stomp three times, and we’ll come up to help you.”
Cesar gave each of them a flick on the forehead and scolded without hesitation, “Help? It’s called protection! Does Mr. Halford need your help?”
Harry and the other two held their foreheads in pain. “Yes, protection.”
Darnell almost spat out his water. “What? You moved downstairs?”
Cesar nodded and handed over a contract. “We just signed a one-year lease with Leroy for fifteen hundred dollars a month.”
Harry and the others chimed in, “Yeah, we’ve even moved our stuff in.”
“We haven’t finished moving yet but wanted to come up and say hi first.”
Darnell didn’t believe it. After closing his door, he rushed down to the fourth floor and pushed open an identical apartment layout door, only to see a pile of bags.
Cesar and the others followed him down and smiled beside him. “The place is small, only about fifty square meters, but it’s enough for the four of us.”
“The most important thing is that we can keep an eye on things for you. If anything happens, we can be the first to respond. Boss, aren’t we loyal?”
“Loyal my foot.”
Darnell looked frustrated. “Why are you keeping an eye on me? With everything under your surveillance, how am I supposed to date? How can I bring girls back for fun?”
“Just thinking about you four listening in and watching makes me lose all desire to take off my pants. Move out! Move out now!”
Darnell walked around inside. The previous tenant seemed to have had a refined taste. The house was nicely decorated with wallpaper on the walls.
However, with Cesar’s arrival, it became a mess immediately. The curtains had several burn holes, and there were big footprints on the balcony railing.
On a wooden table in the room were several computers and cameras next to some art film discs.
Living upstairs from these guys made Darnell feel deeply troubled.
At that moment, Harry and the others were downstairs moving their remaining items up.
“Boss, we can’t move out now. We just signed the contract and paid three months’ rent. Moving out means losing it all.”
Cesar pleaded bitterly, “Don’t worry. When you’re with your girlfriend, we promise not to eavesdrop. If we violate that promise, I won’t smoke anymore.”
Darnell stared at him sternly. “You’re not listening to your boss’s orders? Do you still see me as your boss? Don’t worry. I’ll get Leroy to refund the rent.”
“Bastard! You hit me and stepped on my stuff with that attitude?”
Just then, shouting came from outside the window along with Harry’s roar. “If you don’t pay three hundred dollars in compensation, I’ll cripple you!”
Another voice shouted back, “Compensate your ass! A lousy bucket isn’t even worth ten dollars!”
“You want a fight? I’ve got people too!”
“Come on then! Let’s fight! Loser!”
Darnell’s expression tightened along with Cesar’s. They could tell from the strong voice that it wasn’t some small fry.
“Boss! Cesar! There’s a fight downstairs!”
A companion ran up from downstairs sweating profusely. “Someone stepped on Harry’s stuff and refused to compensate. They want to fight.”
“Boss, you stay here. I’ll go check it out.”
Cesar lit a cigarette skillfully as he went downstairs. “Modern society is full of hostility. People start fights over nothing. Can’t let my men suffer.”
He didn’t care much about himself but was always loyal to his friends.
Darnell rubbed his head in frustration. They just arrived and already started fights. These four subordinates really wore him out.
He decided that no matter what happened, he couldn’t let Cesar and his group move in here, worried that he wouldn’t have peace.
Despite thinking this way, Darnell closed his door before he went downstairs, wanting to see what exactly happened. What was more, those shouts sounded familiar to him.
When Darnell reached the ground floor, he peered through the door and saw a figure rushing over like a shooting star.
“Hurt my brother? You’re dead!”
A man with a massive figure spoke harshly while charging forward like a tank, heading straight towards Cesar.
His powerful aura forced Harry and the others to step back involuntarily.
Faced with the man’s attack, Cesar silently stuck to it, his eyes flashing with a sharp light.
Their fists collided.
People were stunned by the sudden heavy muffled sound, as if feeling the perverted force it contained.
Cesar supported his hand with his hand, barely parrying the other party’s attack. With a domineering spinning kick, he made a harsh friction sound under his feet.
Harry and the others were shocked when they looked closely.
Cesar, however, was dragged by the huge force, maintaining the posture of receiving the move, and slid nearly two meters.
He almost hit the wall behind him.
Harry and the others were horrified in unison.
They, who were clear about Cesar’s strength, were obviously very surprised that their enemy was so domineering and could beat Cesar so passively.
“Very good!”
Cesar nodded and smiled, full of fighting spirit. He raised his arm and gently swung. His hands gradually clenched into fists, and his whole body’s bones immediately burst into a series of crisp sounds.
Faced with Cesar’s fighting spirit, the huge figure didn’t care at all, exuding a domineering and terrifying aura, with two strong arms ready to exert force again.
He roared, strode out, and heavily stepped on the ground with his tiptoe, and his huge body slammed into Cesar.
Cesar didn’t retreat but advanced. He hunched his shoulders and bent his waist, avoiding the other party’s attack, and his fists rained out, continuously hitting the other party’s hands intersection.
Bang!
Faster than lightning, continuous, it actually made the fierce rushing huge figure beat back step by step.
Cesar, who didn’t spare the momentum, just leaned sideways, hunched his waist, and pressed against the huge figure of the same mass, sliding and punching.
The huge figure roared, and his palms waved out, blocking Cesar’s fists.
The air burst into dense explosions, startling both sides’ crew to retreat respectively.
Darnell, who pushed open the door, saw Cesar’s opponent and was stunned. “Garrett?”
