After leaving the apartment, Darnell dashed into the elevator, frantically pressing the close button, fearing Areli might come out and kill him.
“Wait.”
Just as the elevator doors were about to close, a clear and anxious voice called out. A young woman rushed towards the elevator.
Instinctively, Darnell jabbed at the close button a few more times but quickly realized it wasn’t Areli. He immediately held the door for her.
The woman squeezed into the elevator, filling it with a fragrant scent that made Darnell sniff twice.
“Thank you.”
As she adjusted her hair, the young woman thanked Darnell, but then her eyes widened in surprise. “It’s you!”
Darnell turned his head and flashed a bright smile. “Miss Snow, good morning. Do you live here too?”
It was Lillian.
Lillian’s makeup was exquisite. Her white blouse and black knee-length skirt accentuated her curvaceous figure perfectly.
Her long, slender legs were so alluring that even a slight movement was captivating.
Despite her surprised expression, she exuded an aura of fiery passion that was hard to ignore.
Even Darnell, who had a night of tumultuous passion, couldn’t take his eyes off her. Her skin was so fair and tempting.
“Why are you here? Do you live here?”
Lillian was astonished. Not only was it because of his red shirt, shorts, and sneakers, but also because they were on the same floor.
On this floor, there were three apartments, one shared by Lillian and her three friends, one occupied by a quarrelsome couple, and one belonging to Areli.
Early in the morning, Darnell’s disheveled appearance in the elevator on this floor suggested he had come from Areli’s place.
Areli was known for being cold and rarely interacted with men, let alone bringing them home overnight, especially someone like Darnell.
Lillian was puzzled and wondered when her boss had developed such an unusual taste.
“No, I was just passing by,” Darnell said with a smile, showing his white teeth. “Miss Snow, do you live here, too? Which apartment? I’ll invite you over for dinner sometime.”
“Passing by?” Lillian’s beautiful eyes widened. “Who do you think you’re fooling?”
Darnell laughed and moved closer. “Why would I fool you?.”
His gaze swept over her long legs. Spectrum Pharmaceuticals indeed had many beauties with great figures. He felt lucky.
“Stay away from me.” Lillian waved her fist at Darnell, who successfully changed the topic. “I’m not telling you where I live. We’re not that close.”
Darnell stretched lazily and patted his pocket. “If we’re not close yet, let’s get to know each other better.”
Seeing Darnell patting his pocket made Lillian instinctively shiver, worried he might pull out a carrot.
She then warned angrily, “Don’t mess with me. I’m a black belt in Taekwondo. Besides, we haven’t settled yesterday’s matter yet.”
“Oh right, yesterday…” Darnell’s eyes lit up. “Not only did I successfully become Miss Fanshaw’s assistant but I also secured a $500, 000 deal for the company.”
“As the person who introduced me, you must have received quite a reward too, right, Miss Snow?”
“Shouldn’t you thank me by treating me to dinner?”
“Of course, if you want to date me, that’s fine. I never refuse beautiful women.”
Lillian was left speechless by his barrage of words.
At that moment, the elevator suddenly shook and then got stuck. The lights went out, plunging the elevator into darkness.
Darnell looked bewildered. “Damn! Is it really broken this early in the morning?”
He pounded on the alarm button and intercom but got no response. He pressed the open button several times to no avail.
“Where did the security guards go? This is a disgraceful dereliction of duty!”
“I’m definitely going to sue them when I get out of here! This scared me to death.”
While ranting, Darnell pulled out his phone to call for help but found it dead.
“What’s happening?” Lillian’s face turned pale as she stared at the elevator in shock. “Is it broken again?”
Curious, Darnell asked, “Why did you say ‘again’?”
“Help! Somebody help!” Lillian banged on the elevator door and shouted for help. “Get me out of here!”
Darnell worriedly stopped her. “Lillian, it’s broken down. You better not bang on it.”
Lillian ignored him and even kicked at the door with loud thuds. Darnell wondered if he should yell at her.
It was likely early morning during a shift change in the security room since no one responded to Lillian’s actions.
Seeing no response from anyone outside made Lillian pound on the door in frustration. “I shouldn’t have taken this elevator. If I hadn’t taken this elevator, I wouldn’t be stuck here with this man…”
This elevator frequently malfunctioned every few days. Unfortunately for her, property management had yet to fix it despite announcing plans to replace it next month.
To alleviate the inconvenience for residents, the property management decided to keep it running for another half month. When Lillian entered, she was worried about getting trapped.
Ironically, her fears came true.
“Don’t worry. Somebody will come to our rescue soon,” said Darnell with a smile. Seeing how anxious she looked, he added reassuringly, “Even if they take their time getting here, you have nothing to worry about, because having me around means never feeling bored.”
“How about I tell you some jokes?”
Lillian unbuttoned her collar, revealing an enticing white chest while breathing heavily, and warned again sternly, “Don’t talk to me!”
Seeing how agitated she became made him frown. Sensing something wasn’t quite right, he said softly, “Calm down, repairmen will arrive soon. Take a deep breath.”
Lillian’s face turned pale. After a glance at Darnell, she shouted weakly, “Help!”
Her body trembled slightly, beads of sweat appeared on her forehead, and she kept tugging at her collar, uncaring that her breasts were exposed.
Darnell’s gaze instantly focused. “Lillian, what’s wrong? You…”
Before he could finish her sentence, Lillian collapsed to the floor, gasping for air and clutching her collar, clearly in distress.
“Claustrophobia?”
Darnell’s expression changed as he quickly recognized Lillian’s symptoms. Claustrophobia was an anxiety disorder related to enclosed spaces, where patients might experience panic symptoms or fear of experiencing them in certain situations, such as elevators, train compartments, or airplane cabins. Severe cases could lead to fainting. Judging by Lillian’s symptoms, she was almost certainly suffering from claustrophobia, and her condition did not look good.
Just as Darnell was in deep thought, Lillian’s head tilted to one side, and she passed out.
“Is it that serious?”
Darnell’s forehead was covered with sweat as he discovered that Lillian seemed to have fallen into a deep coma, with very weak breathing.
He quickly determined that Lillian was a severe case, blocked by a breath that had closed off her heart meridian, and immediate action was needed to save her.
Darnell hesitated for a moment, then took out a pill from his pocket and picked up Lillian.
Restraining the sudden emotions that rose within him, Darnell took a deep breath and began performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on Lillian.
After a moment, he felt she was catching her breath, and then forcefully placed the pill into Lillian’s mouth, where it dissolved instantly.
In an instant, it traveled down her throat.
Without much delay, Darnell quickly unfastened Lillian’s clothes.
Darnell was not in the mood to appreciate the view before him. He reached for the woman’s chest.
Then, he reached the area between Lillian’s heart meridians, his fingers moving in small ranges.
His fingertips occasionally touched the breasts on either side, a feeling that was a mix of pleasure and torture.
However, Darnell suppressed his desire, focusing on saving Lillian.
With the medicine and massage, the stagnant energy in Lillian’s heart meridian gradually dissipated, her pretty face regained a rosy glow, and her breathing became much smoother.
Before long, her consciousness slowly returned.
Under Darnell’s skillful hands, like those of a magician, Lillian couldn’t help but let out a soft moan.
“Ah, so comfortable.”
Her lightly made-up face, her delicately open red lips, her head slightly raised, she said with rapture how comfortable it was.
Darnell’s hand trembled, and he couldn’t help but grab it.
This grasp caused Lillian to let out an incredibly ticklish sound, and she regained full consciousness.
Soon, her slender legs trembled, followed by her tightly closed eyes under her eyelashes, which fluttered a few times, then slowly opened.
Seeing herself in disarray, with Darnell kneeling in front of her, sweating profusely, Lillian’s pretty face showed surprise, and her right hand raised, two fingers instinctively stabbed out.
But midway through the stab, she seemed to remember something and changed it to a palm, gently pushing Darnell’s body.
“What are you doing? Darnell, what do you want to do?”
Looking down, she saw Darnell’s hand pressed against her breast.
“Is anyone inside?”
At the same time, shouts came from outside, and the property management personnel rushed over.
Seeing Lillian wake up, Darnell retracted his fingers, draped her clothes back on her, and jumped back with a thud, raising four fingers.
“Lillian, I have four things to tell you.”
“First, the elevator was broken. Your claustrophobia flared up, causing you to faint, and the situation was critical.”
“Second, to save you, I had to give you artificial respiration and massage, I did not take advantage of you.”
“Third, I didn’t see anything. I’ve already forgotten the color of your bra.”
“Fourth, I saved you. Shouldn’t you show some gratitude?”
Lillian knew her condition and understood that Darnell was not exaggerating.
But thinking about being kissed and touched by him, especially the warmth lingering on her chest, she felt embarrassed and angry.
When she heard the last thing, she extended her finger with difficulty and pointed at Darnell.
“Today’s matter, you must keep it a secret, or else, I will kill you.”
Darnell shrugged and said, “What a heartless woman. I saved you, but you didn’t show some gratitude and even threatened me. I’m so sad.”
Lillian stared at Darnell and clenched her fist. “I will repay your kindness, but you must keep it a secret.”
“Rest assured. My lips are sealed. By the way, the color of your bra doesn’t go with your skin tone.”
At this time, the elevator door was pried open, and the property management personnel appeared, rushing to rescue people inside.
She screamed, “Darnell, you pervert!”
Darnell darted out of the elevator, away from the furious Lillian.
At the same time, he recalled the two fingers Lillian had raised when she woke up, and a smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.
“What a cute woman.”
