Chapter 8 Revenge

Book:Fist of Healing Published:2024-11-29

“In a public place, why did you play with fire?”
Before anyone else could speak, Darnell grabbed a fire extinguisher and berated David,
“You’re an adult. Haven’t your parents taught you not to play with fire?”
“There are so many people in the restaurant. What if they get burned? Even if they don’t get burned, the fire will damage the plants.”
“If I hadn’t put out the fire in time, the restaurant would have burned down. Can you take responsibility for that?”
“If you play with fire again, I’ll call the police. You understand me?”
Darnell added, “Also, I saved you tonight. Shouldn’t you show some gratitude? Maybe some money…”
“No cash…”
He eyed the Rolex on David’s wrist. “The watch will do.”
Areli almost burst out laughing. It was the first time she found a man so amusing. Although this might offend David, she couldn’t care less at the moment.
David was infuriated.
Two romantic banners, a band playing music, a large bouquet of roses, over twenty friends cheering him on, and thunderous applause, all pointed to a romantic proposal that ignited everyone’s passion and excitement. It was one for the history books!
However, Darnell ruined everything!
The room suddenly fell silent.
David was frustrated, and the people present didn’t dare to make a sound.
As they watched the mess before them, their faces went through a myriad of expressions.
Areli, however, felt unprecedentedly relieved.
“Hey, why don’t you say something?”
Darnell stared at David and asked, “Could it be that seeing the fire scared you to death?”
He stepped forward and poked David’s face, leaving everyone stunned.
With that, David snapped out of his daze and roared, “Who the hell are you?”
“Oh! You can talk.”
Darnell pretended to be scared, shivering and taking a few steps back. At the same time, he threw the fire extinguisher at David’s feet.
David yelped and instinctively jumped.
Darnell shouted happily, “And you can jump!”
Areli stifled her laughter. The gloom in her heart was completely gone, feeling more joyful than signing a five-million-dollar deal.
Two people stepped forward to support David when David shouted again, “Who let this bastard in?”
Startled, the manager walked up from behind and explained anxiously, “He’s Miss Fanshaw’s friend.”
“Nonsense.”
David glared at Darnell and barked, “How could Areli have such a friend? Do you think I’m an idiot?”
Darnell replied with a grin, “You are indeed an idiot. I’m Miss Fanshaw’s personal assistant.”
Areli nodded. “He is indeed my newly hired assistant.”
Hearing this, David was stunned. “Areli, how could you hire someone like him as an assistant?”
“He has no image or ability. Anyone will be ten times better than him.”
Darnell curiously asked, “Are you ten times better than me?”
Furious, he shouted, “Shut up!”
Darnell stood beside Areli and retorted without hesitation, “It looks like you know Miss Fanshaw. You’re well-dressed but have no sense of propriety. Why can’t I be Miss Fanshaw’s friend? I’m kind-hearted, honest, and attentive. Miss Fanshaw likes having me around!”
“Can you be ten times better than me?”
“I’m Miss Fanshaw’s only personal assistant.”
Saying this, he wrapped his arm around Areli’s slender waist before he continued, “I even fed Miss Fanshaw carrots this afternoon.”
Hearing this, David and his friends were dumbfounded, and Areli was infuriated. She pried his hand away. “Who ate your carrots?”
As soon as she said it, she realized something was off.
Darnell timely withdrew his hand and slapped his forehead, feigning realization. “Right, we didn’t eat carrots today. We drank that coffee. That’s more like an aphrodisiac…”
Areli’s expression turned cold. “Shut up!”
David trembled with anger, questioning, “Areli, who exactly is this guy?”
Suppressing her anger towards Darnell, Areli looked coldly at David and said, “Who he is has nothing to do with you. David, I came tonight and met with you. Now I have three points to make clear. First, we never established a romantic relationship. It’s you who keeps pursuing me.”
She didn’t want to hold back anymore to avoid future trouble.
“Second, whoever you’re involved with is your business. It has nothing to do with me.”
“Third, don’t bother me again in the future. If you disturb my life again, I’ll call the police for harassment.”
“Remember who you are. Don’t disgrace yourself or your family.”
With those words, she turned to Darnell and said, “Let’s go.”
David persisted, “No! Don’t go, Areli. I won’t give up on you! Areli, I love you!”
“Miss Fanshaw, aren’t we going to have dinner?”
Darnell fixed his gaze on the dining cart, saying, “We haven’t eaten yet. The steak looks good.”
“And the waitress is quite charming too.”
Areli walked straight towards the door. “If you want to eat, stay here yourself.”
Darnell sighed and patted his stomach as he followed her. “My poor stomach…”
Seeing Areli leave made David furious. Then he thought of something and shouted,
“You’re not going anywhere!”
The romantic setting was destroyed, and his expensive suit was ruined. Tonight was a disaster for him because of Darnell.
David stomped his foot and hissed through his teeth, “Tia! Stop him!”
A beautiful bodyguard appeared from the shadows with a cold expression on her lovely face. She moved swiftly towards Darnell and grabbed him while Darnell saw Areli already out of the door.
He knew she loathed David deeply and wanted to leave as quickly as possible. Being her assistant wasn’t easy.
At this moment, Tia Carr approached quickly in high heels, clenching her fists as if she was about to attack him.
Her stance alone showed she was highly skilled and combative.
She stood about six feet, with striking features, a prominent nose bridge, and thin lips paired with cold eyes, making her quite attractive.
Tia was hired by David through his father’s connections for a high salary.
Darnell clicked his tongue appreciatively. “What a beauty. Great! I love challenges. Bring it on.”
David wiped his expensive suit jacket as he angrily yelled, “Tia! Beat him up!”
As soon as he finished speaking, Tia leaped onto the messy dining table by using its momentum, She charged towards Darnell, closing their distance rapidly.
She issued a warning cry while she kicked rapidly, too fast to capture her movements.
Throughout all this, Darnell maintained his bright smile, not even moving an inch, just slightly leaning back when Tia’s foot wrapped in fragrance reached his chest. He extended his left hand, catching her ankle effortlessly and lifting it upwards gently.
Tia’s left foot landed on Darnell’s right shoulder, exposing long shapely legs and instantly captivating everyone present.
Without giving Tia any chance to escape, Darnell stepped forward, pressing his body against Tia’s.
His actions were intimate, causing Tia’s expression to change instantly.
With Tia’s left foot resting on Darnell’s right shoulder and him stepping closer, they pressed together. Their posture was that of a couple deeply in love.
If they were not in a fight, they might’ve been mistaken for being intertwined passionately.
At that moment, many men looked on enviously, wishing they were Darnell.
Once belonged to the special forces “Phoenix”, Tia had dealt with countless tough men and numerous criminals, yet she had never been this close to a man. By pressing against Darnell, his domineering masculinity overwhelmed her senses, stirring some emotions in her.
Just when Tia tried struggling free, Darnell bent and thrust forward forcefully, sending Tia flying back. She groaned, feeling embarrassed and furious.
Watching Tia kneeling half on the ground, Darnell spoke leisurely, “If you get up now, the consequences will be severe.”
Tia froze, sensing something was amiss.
Darnell added, “Because your stockings are torn.”
Countless eyes, filled with desire and anticipation, turned towards Tia.
She checked on her stockings and found the tear between her thighs, making her blush out of anger.
Standing rigidly, she was unsure when her stockings were torn. Her mind went blank.
While wiping his clothes, David looked up, only to see two bodyguards down. He was puzzled, then realized the situation, shouting,
“A bunch of idiots! Everyone attack!”
Dozens of his friends rolled up their sleeves, ready to teach Darnell a lesson.
Darnell leaped forward, grabbed the fire extinguisher, and spun around, spraying three of them with the fire extinguisher, causing them to retreat.
After another spin, he sprayed the rest of them with the fire extinguisher, forcing them back awkwardly. Then he tossed the extinguisher away, knocking one down. He seized the chance and escaped, swiftly disappearing from view.
He ran incredibly fast, astonishing everyone present.
David gritted his teeth, cursing, “Just wait! I’ll definitely get revenge.”
Before Davis finished his sentence, Darnell reappeared eerily at the doorway, jamming the glass doors shut with a broom. He picked up a marker and started writing. An address flamboyantly appeared on the glass door.
“No. 8, Woodsea Grandeur Plaza.”
Everyone, including the bodyguards, was stunned, unsure of what he was up to.
David asked incredulously, “What’re you doing?”
“You wanted revenge, right? Here’s the address.”
Flicking the pen away, he looked cocky as he stated, “It makes your revenge easier.”
Damn it!
David staggered, nearly collapsing from anger.
“Or should I leave my number too?”
David was on the verge of a breakdown.
