‘Move, big head.’
The voice came from inside my head, just at the same time I felt a flurry of energy scurrying from my belly down to my leg; and then I was at the other side of the room all of a sudden, right across Chyra, who was looking at me with an open mouth.
What just happened?
One moment I was there, and now I was here?
I looked at the wall where I had been reclining against, and it now had a dent on it.
Something that would only knock me unconscious? That would have left my entire face bleeding!
My annoyance got beaten down when I compared the distance from where I had been to where I was.
Unless I was a cheetah, there was no way I would have moved that fast.
What happened? I asked myself again, trying to check inside my head where the strange voice had spoken from.
Move, big head?
What was that? Who was that?
I attempted talking to it mentally, but nothing came up.
‘Who are you? Why are you inside my body?’
No reply came.
Was it a wolf?
I shook my head. The pack doctor had mentioned that I had no wolf gene.
So, what was in my head?
I looked in the direction of the girls. They were still ridden with shock.
“What was that?” Gena asked, finally breaking the silence, stepping away from Nina, and closer to Chyra who couldn’t get herself to move yet.
“How had she done that?”
The live video was still going on, and my ears could pick up the barrage of gifts and emojis being sent that kept making a popping noise. The students had gone on a frenzy.
I won’t be surprised if this got to Levina’s father. If Levina was watching this, then surely she would show her father.
At least, these three will be punished. I mused, wondering why they had decided to take the risk of bullying me.
My eyes went to Gabriella. Her phone was still up, but the former pitiful look in her eyes was gone.
Good.
I walked back to where my bag had fallen, and picked it up. I would have loved to continue this, but I needed to think.
I needed to know what was happening to me, where that energy had come from-the energy that had pushed me to zap past a long distance in less than a second.
Was I some other creature?
I shook my head. There was no way. Laura would have found that. What she had seen had been a magic gene.
Or did the witches have inner beings like the werewolves do?
I didn’t think so. I have never heard of that. More reasons why I should research.
I dusted my body, already moving toward the door, when Chyra blocked my path. What now? Hadn’t the last event showed her that I wasn’t to be trifled with?
“Did you forget what I said, Dora? You are not leaving here without beating me.”
I looked into her eyes, and then scoffed.
Pride.
She was doing this for her pride now. She had fallen into her own trap, and she was seeking a way to get out of it.
“I don’t know what you are, or how you were able to do that, but you are not leaving here without losing or winning.”
I shrugged my shoulders in nonchalance, whereas pleading with whatever energy rested within me to help me.
“Are you sure you want to continue with that charade? You might end up in my guardian’s healing house.”
There was a pregnant silence, where Gena tapped Chyra on the shoulder, probably telling her that they should let me be.
“Let’s go, Chyra. We don’t know the true extent of her powers. There must be a reason why the Queen had let her stay in the community. Think about it. Why had she left the community and then returned without being questioned or sanctioned? We hadn’t even known that she existed, until the pack party. Why is she wearing a mask? Yes, she is using a non-magic key, but what if she actually does have magic, but is keeping it under a leash. You saw how fast she moved. That’s something we can’t do. As a matter of fact, I have never seen it.” Gena stated, when Chyra shrugged her hands off her shoulder.
“Well, that’s because it isn’t magic!” Chyra shouted, causing Gena to take a step back.
“Magic doesn’t propel people to move fast. We would have known.”
“How?” I asked her, choosing to bank on the terror that Gena had created in them all. I have to say the girl really had some high hopes for me.
I was keeping my magic under leash? Girl, I don’t even know that could be done. I didn’t even know I had magic until yesterday night!
At my question though, Chyra glanced back at me, and this time around, there was fear in her eyes.
I cultivated it. “How do you know magic can’t spur people to move with insane speed? That you don’t have it, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. You know when I met the Queen on my return, she had disappeared into the wall. On our way to the pack party, we teleported. So, if all that is possible, why isn’t mine possible?”
“Because that will mean you are stronger. More powerful.” This was Gabriella.
Her voice was soft, barely there. And she was the only one still recording.
“Get that phone down!” Nina shouted at her, but Gabriella ignored her, and rushed to my side.
A satisfactory glance at her, and I returned to my foes.
“Well, you wanted to go live right? There you have it. She isn’t taking it down. But you are lucky. I am not in a foul mood today. You three can leave. As I said earlier, I am not looking for trouble. Besides, I am sure that Queen Aliana will have better punishment for you three.”
At the mention of the Queen’s name, Nina and Gena blanched. I wasn’t sure if it was because they remembered the hot soup they were in, or because I had called the Queen’s name.
