Chapter 1431: Phil King’s Conspiracy

Esther took a deep breath and asked, “Mr. King, why did you ask us to come here?”
“Heh,” Phil King chuckled lightly.
“Miss Jefferson, aren’t we here to discuss a partnership? It’s quite straightforward-I am interested in acquiring your Chester Group’s branch in Gambling City.”
“What?”
“You must be dreaming!”
Esther had never anticipated that Phil King would set his sights on the Chester Group’s branch in Gambling City. After Chris had eliminated the King of Gambling family last time, the Chester Group had naturally moved into Gambling City. Over time, their operation had significantly expanded there.
Now, with just a few words, Phil King intended to acquire their branch in Gambling City-how could this be possible?
“Mr. King, I think we have nothing left to discuss!”
Not wanting to see Phil King any longer, Esther turned to leave, dropping a final remark.
Seeing Esther about to walk away, Phil King said with a faint smile, “Miss Jefferson, I’m afraid it’s not possible for you to leave just yet.”
“What do you mean?”
Esther turned around, squinting at Phil King.
Suddenly, the ship swayed slightly, and Esther’s complexion changed.
The entire cruise ship had started moving away from the coast, heading out to sea.
“You…”
Esther had never expected Phil King to be so despicable as to keep them on the gambling ship using such methods.
Suddenly, Chris looked at Phil King and sneered, “Phil King, aren’t you afraid of bringing disaster upon yourself by keeping us on this gambling ship?”
“Chris, I know who you are,” Phil King said calmly, looking at Chris.
“You are the Primus of Amerosia. You were the one who wiped out the Sample family.”
“Knowing who I am, you still dare to provoke me?”
Chris asked, narrowing his eyes.
Knowing Chris’s identity yet daring to keep him on the gambling ship suggested that Phil King was well-prepared.
Phil King smiled lightly and said, “Chris, don’t be angry! I have a purpose for keeping you here. If your Chester Group hands over the Gambling City branch to me, then naturally, I will let you leave.”
The Chester Group’s branch controlled half of Gambling City. Acquiring it would legitimately make Phil King the new King of Gambling.
“Why would I do that?”
Chris found it somewhat amusing. Some fool had dared to threaten him, not knowing the peril they were in.
“Heh,” Phil King chuckled and didn’t get angry. Instead, he said, “Chris, you will agree! I have information on the whereabouts of a fragment of the Dragon Emblem. If you want it, you’ll have to cooperate with me.”
“Dragon Emblem fragment?”
Upon hearing this, Chris’s expression instantly turned grave.
Chris had not expected Phil King to possess a fragment of the Dragon Emblem; it seemed that Phil King was indeed determined to seize the Chester Group’s branch.
Phil King wanted something clear-to become the second King of Gambling. But Chris had already declared that Gambling City did not need a second King of Gambling. Allowing Phil King to become the new King of Gambling would be like slapping his own face. Yet, the presence of the Dragon Emblem fragment was a lethal threat to Chris.
Seeing that Chris remained silent, Phil King stood up and smiled, “Chris, I won’t bother you any longer. There are many fun places on this gambling ship. You can enjoy yourselves. Later, I will come to find you again!”
With that, Phil King and his entourage left.
Watching Phil King’s retreating figure, Chris’s expression darkened.
It seemed this trip on the gambling ship was going to be anything but simple.
Chris and Esther went to the cruise ship’s deck.
Everywhere were heavily armed bodyguards.
All these bodyguards were from the King family, tasked specifically with safeguarding the gambling ship’s security.
“Dear, what should we do now?”
Esther asked, somewhat worriedly.
Esther hadn’t expected that coming to Gambling City to discuss a partnership would lead them into a wolf’s den.
Chris smiled faintly and said, “Let us take things as they come. Now that we’re here on the gambling ship, let’s enjoy ourselves. As for this Phil King, I’m actually curious to see what tricks he has up his sleeve.”
Esther nodded.
After all, she had no other options now but to rely on Chris.
Chris talked tough, but deep down he sighed.
Damn it!
This situation was getting tricky!
It had to be said, Phil King was clever.
Luring them onto the gambling ship, which, once it reached international waters, would be entirely under his control. Now, Chris could only rely on himself.
But Phil King wanted the Chester Group’s subsidiary, and Chris was not going to let him succeed easily.
Several hours later.
The gambling ship left the Amerosia region and started heading towards international waters.
Once in international waters, Chris’s authority as Amerosia Primus would be completely ineffective.
If Chris wanted to mobilize forces, it wouldn’t be easy and would involve disputes across several nations.
Fortunately, Chris, accustomed to tough situations, remained calm.
Ignoring the menacing bodyguards around him, he lay on a deck chair with Esther, sipping a drink and enjoying the scenery and the sea breeze.
Just as Chris was resting comfortably, Phil King approached again.
“Chris, have you considered my offer? Just hand over the Chester Group’s Gambling City subsidiary to me, and not only will I let you leave, but I’ll also give you the Dragon Emblem fragment! Chris, it’s a good deal for you!”
Chris looked at Phil King and said coolly, “I’m sorry to disappoint you! While I’m interested in the Dragon Emblem fragment, I cannot give you the Gambling City subsidiary.”
“I know what you want. With the Gambling City subsidiary, you’d monopolize the entire city’s gambling industry, becoming the next King of Gambling! Unfortunately, I won’t let you succeed.”
“Chris!”
“Very well then!”
Phil King didn’t expect Chris to reject him so directly. He said with a murderous look, “Since you’ve made your decision, I won’t force you. But just a reminder, since you’re here on this gambling ship, whether you can leave or not is now uncertain!”
With that, Phil King left.
After Phil King left, Chris turned to Esther and said, “Dear, during this time, stay close to me and don’t wander off. If I’m not mistaken, Phil King is preparing to make his move against me.”
“Okay!”
Esther nodded and replied, “Dear, I understand.”
Back in the top-floor luxury suite.
Phil King’s expression was extremely somber as he took out his phone and dialed a number.
“Boss, Chris refused me.”
“Expected! Chris has always been arrogant, how could he possibly agree to your demands? Now, proceed with Plan B. I will definitely kill Chris this time, ensuring he never returns to Amerosia! Once Chris is dead, the Dragon Emblem fragment will be mine, and you will become the new King of Gambling in Gambling City!”
