Chapter 74
Dmitri
Her head swiveled towards Guilia’s direction, her eyes squinted with anger lurking behind them.
“What have you done, Guilia?” She rasped, her feet slowly moving toward her in sure, terrifying steps.
Guilia ducked her head and fiddled with her fingers nervously then lifted her head, glancing at me for help. When she saw that none was coming forth from me, she clasped her palms pleadingly.
“Dmitri couldn’t stop calling me and I saw how badly you missed him. You couldn’t stop muttering his name even while asleep and that was what motivated me to call him over here,” She explained.
Ariel’s lips moved but no words came out, instead, she clenched her fists and clicked her tongue loudly, her cheeks reddening in embarrassment.
I inclined my head and pressed my lips together to keep myself from smiling though it was hard. Knowing that I was still at heart made me feel very good and the sleepless nights and endless worries that I faced were worth it.
“But that isn’t a strong reason to bring this man over here,” She argued furiously, stomping her foot on the ground.
Though I was excited that I got to see her again, my heart couldn’t stop racing in anticipation. She was still effortlessly gorgeous even in her baggy pajamas pants and the oversized jacket she had on.
“I’m not this man, I’m your husband,” I intercepted and she fixed me an icy glare that had me snapping my lips shut.
She barreled toward Guilia, grabbing her hand and pulling her into the cabin. I thought of going closer to eavesdrop on their conversation but it would only lessen my chances of having her forgive me.
So I paced around restlessly with beads of sweat pooling on my forehead even though it was a chilly morning. Having nothing else to do, I crouched on the ground and uprooted some grasses.
The high-pitched voices that echoed and the heated argument that didn’t seem to be ending anytime soon had me dashing towards them as I didn’t want to be privy to watching them tear each other’s hair.
By the time I got there, Guilia had already packed some of her stuff, her eyes glassy. Ariel’s nostrils were flared with a deep frown etched on her face.
“It’s better you leave. You’re such a traitor,” She yelled.
Guilia stormed to the door, pushing it open and then she spared her a backward glance. “Agreed! So much for being your best friend,” She spat and stalked off.
Silence ensued, the type that filled me with uncertainty. My eyes followed her around as she produced two glass cups from an old, worn-out fridge.
She poured some water from the jug into the cups and held a cup out to me.
“Take it. You must have journeyed all night just to get here,” She urged me on while evading my gaze.
A silly idea slithered into my mind and I grabbed her wrist, pulling her closer to me. The cup slipped from her hand and shattered onto the ground, the smithereens flying about in various directions.
She jolted, her lips parting slightly. “I’m so sorry. Were you injured?”
“No, I wasn’t. I’m sorry for pulling such a stunt on you,” I apologized but my words fell on deaf ears as she bent down and peered at my legs for any cuts.
I scooted on the floor with her as well and my hand brushed her fingers. She froze, her breathing more rapid than before.
She was affected by my touch and I liked it.
“Ummm, I’ll just get these shards off the ground,”
I reached for her hand. “No, I won’t let you lift a finger. Just sit over there,”
She opened her mouth, possibly to argue with me and then I hoisted her from the ground as gently as I could and placed her on the little couch close to the window.
Quickly, I cleared the shards away and cleaned my hands.
Our cordial conversation was annoying and it irked me deeply. She just sat quietly, mopping at the floor. The hedge around her was very obvious and I was clueless on how to break through it.
“Why are you here, Dmitri? I left because I didn’t want to see you. Don’t you think it’s selfish to barge into my space when you know that I don’t want it?” She questioned.
“I’m sorry, but I couldn’t help it. Did you know how I felt when your father told me that you had gone missing again? For how long will I keep searching for you?”
“But I’m here,” She retorted.
I shook my head and let out a heavy sigh. “No, you’re not,”
“What do you want from me, Dmitri? I really don’t need all of this right now,” She threw her hands up in exasperation.
“I want you back, Ariel. I made a grave mistake that I’m willing to fix. Why don’t you want to give me a chance?” My voice rose to a high pitch.
She ran her fingers through her hair frustratedly and puffed out air while pacing around aimlessly. “Because you’ll keep breaking my heart over and over again,”
I tapped my chin as if in thought. “Alright then. If begging won’t work I’ll try something else,”
She arched her brows, her face scrunched up in a slight frown. “Don’t bother, Dmitri. I’m not interested,” She replied flatly and turned around in a bid to return to head out, but my legs moved swiftly to stop her.
With her wrist firmly trapped in my hand, I pulled her again to myself until there was no space between us.
The deafening quietness in the cabin aggravated my need to be with her as I lowered my head to her ear with the tip of my tongue forming circles on the sensitive spot under her ear.
She sucked in air and held her breath. “What are you doing?” Her voice was breathy and she shivered, just the way I wanted.
“I’m going to seduce you. I’m going to make you beg me to fuck you,” I whispered, trailing my fingers to her breasts while I humped my engorged dick against her ass.
She sighed and her eyelids met each other, her breaths bursting out in very rapid pumps. “Dmitri…” She clamped her lower lip between her teeth.
I ignored her and tweaked her swollen nipple that poked through the tiny strapped blouse she was wearing.
My blood roared in my veins and the only thing my body craved right now was to be buried inside her, but I’d made a promise to her that she’d be the one to beg so I dragged in a deep breath and put a distance between us.
“See you later, princess,” I smirked and turned away.
