“You are a bastard.” Tears gushed out of my mother’s eyes. She slapped him so hard on the face. “I hate you so much. You are never present in my life.”
My father laughed bitterly and pushed her forcefully to the floor. My mother screamed as she fell to the floor and hit her forehead on the table.
“MOM!” I screamed at the top of my lungs and rushed to my mother. “Are you okay?” I held her arm to lift her up to her feet. As soon as she stood up, she pushed me away from her and ignored the blood on her forehead.
She snarled with gritted teeth. “I regretted getting married to you.”
“Divorce me.” He dared her. “We both know you wouldn’t be able to pay the bills on your own. You wouldn’t be able to take care of them.” He pointed at the both of us. “You are under me, but if you can’t tolerate my lifestyle, you can leave. It’s a free world. Who is holding you back? Remember, once you leave, I will leave with the kids. I will gain custody of them because you will be nothing but a poor rat without me. You are a loser.”
“I hate you so much.”
“Go ahead. Hate me all you want, but I’m giving you the perfect life. I took care of everything you want. Didn’t care how expensive it was. I took care of your ass. Gave you the world. People look up to you so much and you are the wife and mate of a powerful alpha. Most Omegas want your life. If you divorce me, another Alpha or Omega will take over your position. Just know that. So, if I were you, I would keep my mouth shut and suck it up.”
“Suck it up?” My mother cried out. “You drug me and give me infections all the fucking time and you want me to suck it up and keep collecting the diseases you collect from those whores you keep around you? You slept with my younger sister, too. And you want me to endure all that bullshit and suck it up?”
“Yes, that’s who I am. I am not perfect. If you want a perfect husband, go to Disneyland.” He mocked. “And remember, work comes first and you obey and respect my priorities if you want to keep living the life you love right now.”
“I didn’t fall in love with you and get married to you to treat me this way.”
“I guess we’ve all gotten better…”
My mother grabbed a vase beside her and lunged at him. My father grabbed her hand, punched her wrist.
My mother screamed in pain, with tears flowing down her cheeks. My father smirked and collected the vase from her hand, and threw it at me.
Ash held my shoulders and pushed me away from the direction of the vase.
My father held my mother’s neck with his hand and used the other one to slap her on her face.
“No, father. Don’t. No. Don’t hit her.” I yelled and ran over to him when Ash held me back from meeting him.
He pushed her down onto the sofa, hovered over her and kept slapping her repeatedly and her eyes swelled so much. I cried out to my father to stop hitting her and kept screaming my lungs out.
“Ash. Let me go. Tell him to stop hitting mom.”
“Stay put, Violet.”
“NOOOO!” I jumped so much for Ash to let me go. “PLEASE, HE’S GONNA KILL MOM. PLEASE, LET ME GO.”
My father finally left my mother, who fell to the floor and continued sobbing as blood kept dripping from her nose.
“Mom.” I kept shouting and Ash finally let go of me. I ran over to my mother and saw the damage my father had inflicted on her.
Her injuries horrified me.
Her swollen cheeks turned purple. Her nose was bloody and her lips peeled. “Mom.” I whispered.
“Stay out of my business and play your role, Luna.”
He walked out on us.
I hugged my mother and cried. “Mom, please, calm down.” I begged until she forcefully pushed me away from her to the floor.
“Don’t come close to me.” She yelled and stood up from the floor and walked over to Ash and mumbled through her battered lips. “Deal with him.”
“Apologize to Violet.” Ash pointed at me. “If you don’t apologize to her, then we have nothing to talk about.”
My mother apologized to me without even looking at me. “I’m sorry.” And walked out on Ash before stopping in her tracks. “Don’t forget about what we discussed earlier.” She added.
As soon as she left, Ash came over to me and hugged me after lifting me on my feet.
“I didn’t want you to see all that.”
“It doesn’t matter.” I whispered. “Just feel like dying sometimes. I don’t deserve this.”
“Hush!” He remarked. “Don’t say stuff like that. I’m here for you, baby. Will always be here for you.” I hugged him and cried bitterly at what I had just seen. Ash kept consoling me to forget about what had just happened.
How could I forget what had just happened?
Why is my life such a mess?
We both got to the room and Ash helped me to sit down on the bed.
I looked at my bare hands stained with blood and remembered how my father beat up my mother.
It has always been like this.
He had always fought with my mother, despite how we were always there. He never cared to feign ignorance and show respect for our presence in their lives.
He beats up my mom like some whore and goes back to work like nothing happened.
If only my mother would leave him for good and divorce him.
I still find it hard to understand why she still stays with him, despite how cruel he is to her.
He never cared about us. And yes, we got the best items, clothes, phones. We live in a gigantic mansion; we got the best editions in the world.
Despite everything he did for us, he was never present in our lives. My father wasn’t there when I graduated from middle school. Even on my birthdays, important occasions, he was rarely around.
He hardly presented himself in our lives. He only cared about himself and was out there living his exotic lives and cheated countless times on my mother.
I can’t remember the amount of times I would perceive different omegas and alpha pheromones around the mansion whenever he comes back from wherever he came from.
He doesn’t even hide it anymore.
He does whatever he wants and gets away with it.
And my mother would only cry and fight for hours with him. They would yell and argue nonstop.
I didn’t understand why my mother refused to leave him. Of course, they were mates, but their lives were a toxic environment to live in.
