For the next few minutes, Adrian glared at the man he’d known all his life as his father. The man who held his hands to teether him how to walk, so he was told by his mom.
Until he grew up and became a man, he’d always been his most cherished asset. He remembered many times, he’d defended him before grandfather and protected him.
He remembered how he was sick in college and dad almost sued the school for negligence. He could face the world for him and do anything for him.
He had grown up with great love from both of his parents. He had seen them greatly in love with each other and appreciated how happy they were.
But everything is gone. He called his mom a mistake. That’s not enough, but he referred to him as his greatest mistake and wished he was never born.
It is over. What was he still doing there? He is not afraid of being assassinated by him or his eldest son, but it doesn’t make any sense staying back and waiting to die.
A brave man will die fighting not sitting with his arms folded. He was done with the family he’d always known as his, he was never supposed to be a part of them, was never supposed to be his son.
The game is up. He must leave. He shouldn’t be shown the door before he decides to use it. His time was up. He must leave now.
He needed to leave that house and the family entirely, to pave way for the woman he loves to come in alongside her son.
Adrian turned around, took a few strides towards the exit but seemed to realise something, he turned back, went into his bedroom and came out soon, slamming a backpack and walking away.
“Richard, stop that boy from leaving and take back your words by apologising to him” Grandfather Lester urged, but Richard waved his hand, indicating that he should be allowed to leave.
He would leave and return after a few days maximum. He doesn’t have access to money, he would definitely return home.
The bashing kept coming from every side against Adrian Lester but what amuses everyone was, he never defended himself, nor did he say a single word in response to the accusations and criticism hitting him from every side.
Many believed that he had nothing to say in defence of himself because he was caught red handed. He didn’t expect that Patrick Connor and Aurora Blake would fish him out so easily.
In his brokenness, he went to see his mom. He wants to tell her that she wouldn’t be seeing him so often but she can be rest assured that he would always have someone check on him.
But he couldn’t hide his emotions when she stared at him. Anna, like every mother, knew something was wrong with her son. She glared at him and asked “What happened, you’re broken”
“Everything will be fine again mom, but I’m afraid it’s not going to happen soon. And nothing is ever going to be the same again between dad and I” Adrian replied, looking away, trying hard not to embarrass himself with his tears.
“Don’t let what happened between your dad and I ruin your relationship with him. This has got nothing to do with you. You’re just caught in the web. Please stay clean off it” Anna coaxed.
“I have tried not to. But he doesn’t see it that way. He sees me as an evil son. A mistake he made by having me. I am his nightmare and he wished that I was never born…” Adrian blurted, now sniffling.
“What! Richard said that to you? He could utter such grievous words to you because you are my son, and not Luna’s? Can he say that to Luna’s son?” Anna was furious.
“I am leaving Mom, for a while. He took everything from me. But it’s fine. Now, I’ll live my life to myself henceforth. I will only do what I feel is right, not compelled to do what someone else said.
I’ll have someone check on you often for me. And once in a while I will come myself in the most unlikely appearance. I want you to know that I can’t leave you alone just like that. Do you understand me mom?” Adrian explained and Anna just nodded.
Her eyes welled up with tears and soon, the tears cascaded down her cheeks. She held Adrian’s hands, and gave it a soft squeeze.
“Wherever you go, may you find true happiness and find purpose again. I don’t know if you’ll see me again, alive. But my best wishes go with you my son…” she sobbed.
The only reason why she hoped to stay alive was Adrian. Now, he’s leaving her now. Richard has gotten to this point where he literally displayed his hatred for Adrian?
First, it was his grandfather when he heard about Ava’s death, he disowned him. Now his own father did the same to him. He has no mother to stay with him, because she’s enclosed within the prison walls.
Such a lonely life. Without anyone in the world. Oh Adrian…how can he end up being an outcast because of her? Why did he have to share in the consequences of her wrongs?
She’s paying already for her sins. Adrian is innocent. He took everything away from him. Couldn’t he at least consider the fact that Adrian is also his son?
By night, the whole news was wiped off the Internet and social media. Everything returned back to normal and Richard reached out to the Blakes family, he would apologise on the behalf of his son and pay compensation to Aurora.
And by morning, Richard Lester’s apology was posted. That solved it. Aurora felt pacified. Patrick sighed in relief. At least things should be done appropriately.
As many reacted to Richard’s post, a certain person in his bedroom was angry. He kicked every single thing with his boots in anger.
“Stupid idiots,” he yelled aloud. He wants to destroy Aurora and the whole attention was shifted to that dude Adrian Lester?
Did he spend a fortune just to help propagate the name of her ex husband? Did he put so much effort just for Adrian to be the centre of focus rather than Aurora Blake, that woman who thinks she can say no to his proposals?
“Bastards, fools! Waste of efforts and finances” he bellowed, hitting his knuckles against the wall until it bleeds.
