100. Matchmaking

“Hello boys, how are you doing?” Father asked as he stepped into the room.
Looking at the three of us intensely, he walked to an empty chair, and sat down, then resumed his gazing.
He was really expecting an answer?
“Fine, father.” I answered, for me and my brothers. He nodded then, his eyes finding the document which laid idly on the floor.
“I see that you have found the document of division, and retirement…” He started.
We nodded, knowing that he needed echoes of agreement either in words or in deed, to keep his speech reeling, else there would be consequences.
“What do you think of it? Is it not the best birthday gift?” He asked, and my brothers and I nodded simultaneously again, even though we actually thought otherwise.
We would take our concerns to our step mother. She was the best advocate for us. She might not be our real mother, but she at least tried to show up, unlike the only blood relative we had left in the world.
“I am glad that you think so, my boys. You see, it’s for the greater good, and for the strength of the pack. The goddess must have known my heart to have given me three sons.”
Of course, blame it on the goddess and the good of the pack.
“Well, since that is settled, you will begin training after your official shifts. The pack doesn’t need to know that-after all, they already think that you guys have shifted, and are able to locate your mates.”
We nodded again.
“Then about your mates. It is better I let you know of the pair, so that you can start now to work out the love factor or whatever that is. We are lycans, so we don’t really have fated mates. We are not that lucky, not with the powers that are bestowed upon us, but we have to choose the best. And I have the best girls for you, strong and courageous.”
My ears perked up then, even though I already knew whom he had chosen for me. I wasn’t curious for myself, but for my brothers. I could also see the curiousness on their own faces.
My father must be jerking off with joy because of the tension in the room, for he knew that he had our attention now, hereby the long pause.
He gave a slow smile, which made him look like a callous dictator before going ahead. “For Adam-of course yours is settled. You are for Rachel. She is a wonderful mage, and from a special bloodline. I think that speaks for itself. Now, for Noah, since Claire isn’t for Adam, then she is best for you.”
Noah scrunched his face, and balled his fists.
“Hey boy, don’t look at me like that. I know you three have fucked her. What’s the difference if you mated her then? You can keep handing over to your brothers, I don’t care, but she is a good placement for Luna. She is one of the strongest wolves, and she is a beta. Very good.”
A slight pause, and he continued.
“Well, I have another choice for you, but that is still under the works. If she passes the test, then she would be better than Claire, who chooses to slut herself around.”
“And who is that?” I asked, before Noah could, causing my father to chuckle at our eagerness.
“That would be Naomi. She is calm, and I would love to have her as an inlaw. Her father is also a good friend of mine. Very wise, although stubborn when it comes to some matters. If you don’t like her, you go for Claire, and then she goes to Daniel.”
Daniel snorted, rewriting his face when his father glared at him.
“So, just Claire and Naomi, huh?” I reclined deeper into the seat. I am not sure we have a choice, although personally I think Noah will go for Naomi, over Claire. A loss for the beta. I wonder how he would feel if he knew this was what we thought of his daughter, the apple of his eyes-a slut.
But shouldn’t he be aware of her ways? That wasn’t my cup of tea though. I concluded, ears perking up when father started to talk again.
“There is another that I think I like. She is from the mage community. The girl that boldly interrupted the party last night. A day in the pack, and she is already causing a ruckus. I heard, or rather eavesdropped on my associates when they had been discussing it. Is it true that she turned you three down? That you had advanced her sexually, and…”
I shot up from my seat then, not believing what I was hearing-not that I was turned down by a girl, no I had gotten over that. It was the fact that my father was planning to match Dora with Daniel. Why?
“Adam, from your reactions, I guess that the rumor is true. I am disappointed. How could you three be so stupid? Is this what I taught you?” Father started, getting to his feet, and marching to me.
I stood still, as I had been taught, knowing that moving would incur a slap.
He poked my forehead as he continued speaking. “You disgraced yourself today, my reputation too, in front of our subordinates because of a pussy? Just because she looks mysterious and wears a mask? You are an idiot.” He ended the charade, drawing my ear tightly.
I gritted my teeth at the excruciating pain that disappeared when he let go, and walked back to his seat.
“Well, as I was saying, she looks to be a good fit for Daniel. She is from a reputable family, although the head of that family is a bitch, if you should ask me. How could he transfer his authority to the bastard, because of a woman? A pussy if I must say. Well, I am sure her magic is as good as her beauty. And I would love to see her in action though. What do you think, Daniel?”
My brother looked shocked as I and Noah.
Father kept on speaking still, our shocked silence egging him on.
“Personally, I think she is the best fit. She is feisty, and I am curious to see how you will tame her. A fair game, don’t you agree?”
