A ‘Date’

Book:The Nemesis Of The Lycan Triplets Published:2024-11-26

Adam’s eyes remained fixed on me as he spoke on the details of the party that had been arranged in my honor. This caused flurry tingles to assail my belly continuously.
“Does this suit your taste, Maya?” He asked suddenly, and my cough started all over again.
Naomi snickered before handing the water can to me for the second time. She must be finding this very hilarious.
Well, wasn’t it? And why the hell was I coughing? Was it because he was addressing me in public or what? Jeez, Maya, get a grip on yourself.
“Maya..” He called again, ignoring Claire’s rude snort. The girl must be gritting her teeth at this point. She must also be wishing that I was dead and buried, for having gotten the attention of the king.
Well, too bad it was only for tonight. I would have loved to torture her the more with this facade that Adam was putting on. I was sure that he was trying to make amends because his father had instructed him to.
Naomi pinched me then. “He is calling you, Maya. For god’s sake, get a strong grip on your mind and emotions. You’re acting weirdly now.”
I bit my lips hard, calling myself all sorts of curse words in the book. Concentrate, woman.
I looked at Adam squarely, yet looking away when I realized that he was stealing glances at my lips now; that his eyes were now a deeper shade of blue, just like they had been when we were in Naomi’s kitchen yesterday.
The dude was horny. I don’t know if I should be happy, pleased or disgusted about that. It doesn’t matter anyway. I will be out of here by Monday. So stilling my nerves, I answered him blandly, as if his features had no effect on me. “Yeah, it is okay, Adam.”
Then, I licked my lips, this time more slowly and intentionally, curious to check something out. When I saw Adam’s eyes color a shade deeper, I smiled. The dude was actually easy to please.
“Alright then. See me later. I need to discuss some of the party activities with you. Meet me outside the cafeteria now. Don’t worry about lunch.” He stated immediately, shocking me, before walking out of the class without a backward glance.
Noah casted wry glances between I and his departing brother, not understanding what was happening or rather why what was happening was actually happening.
I didn’t know either. We had that in common.
Noah looked at me again, and then at Naomi who squirmed under his gaze, before he walked out of the class.
There was a silence and then an instant outbreak of activities. Everybody was talking about the party; the party and me. They wished that they were in my shoes, the perfect guest of honor for the king. I almost scoffed at them. Why hadn’t they wished they had been bullied too? Bunch of idiots.
“Well, that was intense. Aren’t you going to meet him? What are you waiting for?” Naomi asked, even as Claire and her minions came to stand before our desks.
“Don’t think for a second that you have Adam to yourself. He is just playing with you, wanting to have a taste of you before you leave the pack. He probably wants to know how a wolfless girl tastes like.” Claire said, obviously seeking to bother me and prevent me from going to see Adam but I wasn’t going to give her the satisfaction.
“If that is true, why are you telling me? Shouldn’t you be happy that he is trying to break me before sending me away? Shouldn’t you be in cohorts with him?” I smiled when I saw the anger begin to cloud her face. Wow, I’m good.
Claire stamped her right foot on the ground thereafter, her right-hand hitting Naomi’s desk in anger, before walking away from the class. Her minions ran after her.
Idiots. I cussed, returning my attention to Naomi. “I am going of course. I am just as curious as you are to know what party plans he wants to talk about.” I said, winking at Naomi who chuckled and shook her head, not believing what she was hearing or what I was implying. I must have grown bold in just a day. What a spontaneous growth.
“So how about you? Do you like Naoh?” I questioned her, remembering that she had squirmed when Noah had gazed at her earlier.
“That dyke? Never. He is so full of himself,” She said, looking elsewhere. Her earlobes were red now, and I knew that she was lying, but I wasn’t going to push it. She will tell me all about it when she was ready. That settled, I stood up from the seat.
“Walking with me, best friend?” I called out to her and she chuckled standing up too.
“Of course hottie. Let’s go.” She said, intertwining our hands together as we strolled out of the classroom.
