Chapter 9

Book:Rejected by my pack alpha Published:2024-11-26

It had been almost twenty-four hours since his talk with Will and his brother, and while he wanted to keep still and be patient, he also wished they would bring answers to him quickly.
From all he had gathered about Will’s brother in the past few hours, it showed he was not just capable but reliable, and Damon hoped he would deliver accordingly.
A knock from the door got his attention and he sat upright, before answering a curt come-in.
The door swung open and a maid walked in with her head bowed, and her hands clasped in front of her meekly.
Damon acknowledged her with a nod, and she proceeded to speak.
“You have guests, sir.” She said, waiting for his answer, her eyes still fixed on the floor.
“Let them in,” Alpha Damon replied.
His eyes fixed on the maid as she walked out.
Soon the door opened again, and he sighed in relief when Will and his brother walked in, he nodded to dismiss the maid while he gestured to the men to sit.
“Gentlemen, welcome.” He greeted, “Any news?” He asked urgently.
“Yes, fortunately for us, my brother here is good at these things.” Beta will say with a smile.
“Okay, what did you find?” Alpha Damon said, his eyes now fixed on Will’s brother.
“Her name is Ava Mitchell Smith, aged twenty-one, and she is betrothed to the alpha of the mist wood pack,” he said simply, his gaze fixed on alpha Damon.
“Betrothed?” Alpha Damon whispered, his wolf raged within him, but he managed to keep his calm.
“If you would, please excuse us.” Beta will say to his brother, who is beginning to look confused.
He nodded and got you to leave, letting the men alone.
“Betrothed?” Alpha Damon whispered again, he could not believe this, fate was definitely playing tricks on him, he was mated with a woman who was already betrothed.
“You have to calm down” Beta will say, he did not need a soothsayer to tell him that both alpha Damon and his wolf were raging at the moment.
“No, do not tell me to calm down.” Alpha Damon said, slamming the desk in front of him.
“We could find a way around this.” Beta will insist, shutting his mouth instantly when Aloha Damon turns a furious gaze on him.
“How?” He asked angrily, “Walk you to her and tell her to leave her betrothed for me?” He asked again.
“And she rejected me, will.” Alpha Damon said as if in disbelief. “I was rejected, do you know what that feels like?” He asked, pointing an accusing finger at his beta.
“No, alpha,” Beta answered, his gaze lowered in fear, he hated when alpha Damon got like this, never ends well for anyone.
“I thought so.” He snorted, getting up to face the floor. He had to do something, there just had to be a way around it somehow.
“What pack did you say she belonged to?” He asked as an idea sparked up in his head.
“The mist wood pack.” The beta will answer, his face scrunched up, confused as he tried to understand where alpha Damon’s mind was going.
“Send for your brother again.” Alpha Damon said, walking back to his seat and pouring s drink for himself.
“Right away.” Beta answered as he stood up to leave.
If he found what he was looking for and his plan worked out fine, he would have no issues luring her to himself.
A few minutes later, the beta will walk back in with his brother trailing behind him.
Alpha Damon waited for them to take their seats before his gaze met Will’s brother.
“Tell me everything about the mist wood pack,” Aloha Damon inquired, leaning back on his chair with the drinking hanging from the edge in his left hand.
“They are neighbors and somewhat friends of the Westwood pack, we have never seemed to have any issues with them.” He started looking focused.
“Do they have any enemies?” alpha Damon asked, twirling the drink in the glass, his attention fixed on Will’s brother.
“Yes, I reckon they have a few.” He said, unsure of his answer.
“Any names?” Damon asked.
“No, alpha, I did not quite look into that, but if you would like, of could get the necessary Information for you.” He said meekly.
“No, don’t bother with that.” Alpha Damon stopped him, he had no business with whoever was their enemy or not.
He needed information that would give him some sort of upper hand in his present situation.
“Anything else about this mist wood pack?” He inquired further, not satisfied with all he had gotten.
“We are in possession of one of their lands,” he said.
Alpha Damon’s brows creased in a thoughtful frown, and his interest spiked.
“How so?” He asked curiously, he had no idea of this prior.
“They seemed to have been indebted a long time ago, and they had paid with the land alpha.” Will’s brother said.
“Any more information on this?” Alpha Damon asked, taking a sip of his drink with a mischievous look on his face.
“No alpha, but I could gather more if I am given some time.” He said.
“You have from now until tomorrow morning, I need every information you can find on it.” Aloha, Damon said as he gulped the remainder of his drink.
He dismissed them with a wave of his hand, and all he had to do was wait for more information and then piece the plan he had together.
By the next morning alpha Damon was already exhausted with his wolf who had been very impatient all night.
Will’s brother had a good job, bringing him just all the right information that was needed, and his idea was good, all he had to do was pitch it to alpha Jude of the Mist wood pack.
He had ordered his men to get ready, and soon they would be on their way there, he could not afford any delay, for all he knew she might want to be on the run.
Taking his time to get ready, he wanted to look very much appeasing, just in case he bumped into her.
Deciding to go for a less professional but more than casual look, aloha Damon settled for a white shirt and a blue suit of pants.
Letting loose the shirt instead of tucking in and rolling the sleeve just about enough, he nodded in approval at his reflection in the giant mirror.
Going with silver jewelry, he slipped some ringers onto his fingers and clasped a gold chain around his neck, he knew he was ready.
The journey to the mist wood pack was longer than he had expected, but soon he was there and met the alpha there.
He was a decent young man, just about his age, and Damon knew somehow that his proposal would be accepted.
Not to be offensive, but Alpha Damon knew he was gullible.
“Alpha Jude?” he called as he stepped out of the car to meet him.
“Alpha Damon.” He said stretching his hand for a handshake, “I was here the minute I got the message of your coming.
“Thank you for honoring it.” Alpha, Damon said gratefully.
“Please come in.” He said, gesturing them in. Damon looked around, it was a decent place, but he knew he could give so much more, so much better.
Soon they got talking, and Alpha Damon introduced his proposal to Alpha Jude, who just as he had predicted jumped at the offer before he had even finished.
Alpha Damon had smiled triumphantly, knowing g he was one step ahead.
“I should introduce you to my wife-to-be.” Alpha Jude had suggested just as Alpha Damon was about to leave.
“Of course, I would love to say hi.” Alpha Damon said, grateful at the opportunity to get to see her and smell her again.
“I will go get her myself.” Alpha Jude said, walking away.
Alpha Damon could perceive her miles before she was in front of him, she smelled heavenly, like she had just stepped it of a beauty shower.
His wolf growled hungrily and Damon tamed it.
The look of hate on her face threw him off for a minute, but he just played it off, his eyes gawking at her shamelessly.
Her lips looked just the same except this time they were their natural pink color with a hint of gentle balm.
“I’m sorry about that, she must be stressed or something.” Alpha Jude apologized immediately.
Alpha Damon waved it off, his eyes following her retreating figure.
With a firm handshake and a pat on ten shoulders, he bid alpha Jude goodbye and set on his journey home.
He could tell his plan was going to go through, all he had to do was take one step at a time and soon she would be his he thought, smiling as he felt his wolf leap happily within.
