A weapon

Sophie’s pov
I kept my eyes glued to Christopher.
He looked at all three tests with a smirk.
His eyes lift and they shone with amusement. “You just earned yourself nine months to live Sophie. You should be happy about this.”
I backed away in the far corner, hugging my middle half pro-tectively.
His eyes narrowed. “Are you scared of me Sophie?” His lips curled. “Because you should.”
There are plenty thoughts that are currently raging through my head. But the one that stood out was finding a way to get out of here to protect my unborn baby.
“Are you going to keep me here for nine months?”
This was an old building, unfinished. If I could find some kind of old rusty steel the builders left behind… maybe I could knock Christopher out.
But weighing it… I didn’t think I’d have the strength too, nor fight a guy his size.
Christopher was also smart enough to not let me out of his sight. There was no way I could get a weapon without him noticing.
And what if I managed to get one, what happens after I managed to knock him out cold? He already mentioned many men were outside, waiting for me and would shoot as soon as I make my presence known.
Getting out of here seemed like a farfetched dream now.
“Wouldn’t you like to know darling.” He smirked, curled his finger and motioned for me to come over to him.
I stay put.
His eyes flickered with irritation and he reached behind him. In his waistband, he pulls out a gun. It’s aiming at me in a second, freezing my blood.
“Don’t make me impatient here. I said you earned nine months, but I didn’t say you earned yourself to not get harmed. Do you think I care if I kill the baby or not? My sister will forgive me if I do.” His smirk widened.
“In fact, I think she’d even love this more.”
My lower lip wobbled. I had no choice but to do as he told me.
I approached him cautiously, holding my stomac
His eyes dipped down to stare at the hand I had on my stomach and his tongue clicked against the roof of his mouth.
“Already taking on that protective instinct?” He snorted.
My heart raced in my chest when he he reached out and gripped around my wrist, forcefully pulling my hand away from my stomach.
“Let me go you bastard!” I shout as I fought him to let me go.
He tugged me along, kicking and all. The guy didn’t once flinched.
But he seemed to get irritated. Because he cocks the gun, and pulls the trigger close to my head. I froze, my heart in my
throat.
There’s a ringing in my ear the second the gun had popped off.
I flinched when I heard the bullet piercing through the concrete.
Christopher’s eyes shone with satisfaction.
“You’re all deranged.” I whispered as I let him tug me along without putting much of a fight.
He pushed me out of the room and led me down a narrow unfinished hallway. There’s a man at the end. A man with a mask.
He was truthful when he said there were men here who would take care of me if I escaped..
Christopher stopped me and opened an old door to the room to my right. It revealed a small unfinished room, and what surprised me was a tiny bed in the middle.
I swallowed as he pushed me inside the room roughly.
The room was tiny and with one push of his hands, I had fallen on the bed.
I turned around. “You intend to keep me here for nine months?”
Christopher’s tall frame stepped into the room and I squirmed.
Seeing as the room was so tiny, with him now occupying most of the space was more intimidating.
My hopes of getting out of here unscathed was dwindling. And dwindling quickly.
When he took a step forward with that stupid wide grin on his face, I crawled back on the bed. Trying to get further away from him.
“Yes. Do you like your new room Sophie? Lillian tried her best to make it feel..
..” His grin widened. “Homey.”
I wrapped my arms around my middle while shaking my head at Christopher. “What does she think she’ll accomplish by keeping me here? This won’t make Aiden love her. You can’t force someone’s love. It doesn’t work that way.”
His eyes narrowed. “And you know about love?”
“I know enough to know that what Lillian is feeling is not love.
She’s obsessed with Aiden. You know it. Your father knows it to. You had two months to get her better, but she came back even worse. If you loved her like you said you did…. why are helping her do this to me and Aiden instead of getting her the help she needs?”
I saw that my question did not sit right with him, and perhaps I should have not said it.
When I saw the dark hint in his gaze, I knew he was furious.
I swallowed when he took a step forward until his knees touched the bedding.
In a swift move, he had bent over, gripped my ankles and dragged me roughly to the edge of the bed. I yelped.
The veins in his neck protruding as his face turned a bitter shade of red.
I should’ve kept my mouth shut.
“Who are you to question me?” He sneered.
