Pandora’s POV
Rolan and Griffin were having a serious conversation, from what I overheard from them, it seemed that they were talking about Ms. Edna, so I drew closer to hear them better.
I was in the bedroom, and they were speaking in hushed tones in the sitting room. I drew closer to the door.
“Have you made contact with Wilson to inform me about what happened?” I heard Griffin ask.
“No, I haven’t. I hope to go there after my meeting with the councilmen. It doesn’t make sense. I still can’t figure out how she escaped from the facility and even brought a replacement. No one knew, no one suspected anything. I want everyone in that psychiatric hospital questioned.” Rolan replied.
I had also thought about the same thing, the director was not expecting my visit and had tried to go in with me everywhere I went.
“What about Luna? How is she?” Griffin asked.
“She’s fine. Stubborn as ever but yeah, she’s safe.” Rolan replied, his voice immediately softening when he spoke about me.
“Alright Alpha. Does she know?” Griffin asked, and I wondered what he was asking if I knew.
“She doesn’t know about us. I don’t know how it slipped my mind. I’ll do well to talk to her about it soon. Mind you, I don’t want her to find out from anywhere beside me. Do you understand?” He said to him,
“No pressure Alpha. I just wanted to know.” Griffin had replied.
“Good. Go to Caleb, I need to know why he is not here now. Tell him to hand over the report to you alongside every intel he has gathered. He would understand what you are talking about. Also, why haven’t I seen Marilyn recently?” He asked and my ears perked.
What was Rolan hiding? I thought to myself and tried to crack the door open. Griffin heard the door creak and glanced at the door. Knowing that the men must have heard the door creak, I pushed open the door and came out stretching like I had just woken up.
“Good morning My Queen!” Griffin greeted me.
“Good morning Griffin,” I replied curtly and walked past Rolan.
“Don’t act like you have not been listening to what we were talking about. What did you hear and what is making you upset with me?” Rolan held my wrist and pulled me back into his arms.
“Nothing. I just woke up. I don’t know what you are talking about.” I protested weakly, feigning ignorance.
Rolan laughed and lifted my face up to his. His eyes were crinkled in laughter and his perfect pink lips were pouted at me.
“You don’t make a good liar. Same way I knew you did not send Caleb and Ashley into the surveillance room that night. Something is going on around here Baby bear, and it is pretty serious.” Rolan explained and I nodded my head.
“What’s happening between you and Griffin? Do you swing both ways now?” I retorted.
Griffin choked on the water he was drinking while Rolan looked at me in bewilderment before bursting into a fit of laughter.
“Luna!” Griffin exclaimed in shock.
“You really can’t be serious with that train of thought, are you?” Rolan asked me, realizing that I was serious.
“You!” I said pointing to Griffin.
“You said that, you asked Rolan if I was aware of you both? What the fuck would that mean?” I yelled, trying to keep my voice down but the anger I felt was seeping through my skin.
“Oh my God! Pandora, we are brothers. Biological brothers just with different moms.” Rolan said and I froze.
“Brothers?” I asked, unsure of what I had just heard.
“Yes, Luna. I was asking him if you knew about it.” Griffin added.
“Well, isn’t that just weird?” I said and Rolan laughed.
“Go and do what I asked of you at once, my wife and I need to sort out some things. Please let me know whatever you find when you get to Caleb.” Rolan ordered Griffin, and he bowed respectively before taking his leave.
“So back to you, my dear wife, you thought I was gay?” Rolan smiled, teasing me about what I had imagined.
“I was going to support you,” I said, gritting my teeth.
“Of course, I know that. You were already showing me how much support you were willing to give.” Rolan chuckled and held my waist.
“I’m all yours okay? I found out about Griffin while you were kidnapped. He confessed to me after a meeting one afternoon and I got a DNA test done on us. Showed proof that we were siblings. My father had been drugged by an associate, the fastest way to get him to… You know, it was to get him a woman. Griffin’s mom sacrificed her body and Griffin happened. Totally unintentional from what I have learned.” Rolan explained, and I stood there, looking at him shocked.
It was hard to see him having a brother before now, but presently, Griffin seemed like the perfect sibling for him. They had grown up together and shared so many childhood memories, so I guess that made up for whatever they would have lost not being in each other’s life.
“Did your mom know about it?” I asked him, wondering how she must have taken the news of her husband’s secret.
“Well, she did. Treated Griffin like shit until she died. I never knew why because she was really a nice person to me and everyone else.” He explained.
“Those kinds of news are not palatable to anyone, no matter how nice they may seem,” I said and lay on Rolan’s chest.
“I’m glad Griffin is my brother. I could not have asked for anyone better.” He buried his face in my hair.
“Doesn’t seem like you both have been doing so much bonding as brothers. Lots of work.”
“Well, yeah. Also because we bonded a long time ago as brothers. We didn’t need what happened to happen for us to be.” He said and I smiled.
His phone rang and he picked it up.
“Hello Griffin,” he said, and then I saw his face darken into a scowl.
“Wait there. I’m coming.” He ordered and dropped the call.
“Babe, something happened. I have to go.” He hurried out of the room before I could get any details.
